most places would have just slapped it in, cut harnesses and butt spliced all the wires. These guys took the time to research things a bit, and find the best way for this install. D and F restore my faith in humanity. Dim the radio with the parking brake? I don't know if anyone else would even think to do that. Amazing.

Rap power can be retained by adding a relay between the window circuit and acc. Since the windows stay on till the door opens as well.

My husband bought me a 2006 5.7 Commander limited stocked with an REQ stereo.
To those with electronics issues. My husband is an ex-Navy helicopter mechanic.He downloaded the manufacture parts catalog. Then he downloaded the mopar (manufacture service and repair manual. He had only half of our TIPM/IPM. AND WE HAD NO ACC MODE WHEN KEY WAS PLACED TO ACC
if you short the junction box containing the 30 amp fuse, but did not pop the fuse. the back of the junction box has relays. YOU CAN NOT REPLACE RELAYS> YOU MUST BUY A NEW JUNCTION BOX BECAUSE THE RELAYS ARE SEQUENTIAL.
the manual says it clear as day. he was shocked. went to junk yard, bought a used junction box from a 5.7 hemi 2007 limited. came he re-wrapped entire wire harness, front to back, installed the new junction box with matching burned in numbers in the relays on back. (that is the key they have an engraved number) and BOOM! i got all my electronics working. he is now installing a REC stereo or considering installing my old ddx394, which is why im here.

I was so confused when started taking apart the dash because it was different from the 2006
Came here looking for how to pass the camera and reversing wires from the headliner area into the liftgate. Can't get the rubber boot loose on the headliner side, and can't feed wires through the boot as is. It's too bad you fast-forwarded through the parts of interest to me. My backup screen is a mirror-mount dashcam, and I've had the backup cam mounted by the trailer hitch. I'm trying to move it up to the license plate bracket now.
Can’t get my DDIN radio al the way in. (2008 jeep commander) How did you remove the top bracket that is in the back? My JVC aftermarket unit doesn’t clear it.

We didn't really have smart integration harnesses when I was installing so that's basically how we had to do all the jeeps/Chrysler garbage

back up light n camera are not working but the sensor is saying something in the way

what kinda of stereo was used
Hey man. I have a 2007 commander and the ves is completely dead. It worked for about 2 months when I bought it a year ago. No tab on the radio to select with the "mode" button. The dvd drive won't power on and obviously the screen is dead. Tried a new ribbon but no dice. Checked all fuses and the ground wire to the dvd driver is grounded correctly. Do you have any ideas? Thanks.
