Hi Ma'am, Just wanted to thank you!! My wife and i just came back from our visit to Cappadocia and Istanbul and all thanks to your videos, we had a blast. We ate like there is no tomorrow and all at the several restaurants recommended by you. Right from the food, accommodation, transport to exchange rates at Grand Bazaar and everything else, your videos were our guide to an amazing holiday! Thanks a lot! have been a subscriber for long and will be forever.
Thank you so much for all the informative tips! I visited Istanbul from Sept 16 to Sept 23, and your tips were very valuable during my stay in Istanbul. I loved everything about Istanbul and learned a lot about its rich culture and religion. I am going to keep watching your video so that I can visit more places next time I visit Turkiye.
Dürümce has the world's best chicken skewers (tavuk sis). One time I ate there 3 times in one week 🙂 My personal tipp: Helvetia, a büfe style restaurant, close to Tünel square. Cheap and filling, you can choose from various dishes to fill your plate.
We visited turkey from the 7th to the 19th of October. It's incredible and beautiful❤. We visited Istanbul, Pammukale, Olundeniz, Antaliya and Cappadocia. Every city has a different vibe. People are very nice and welcoming.
We saw this video 5h after it was released and it was Perfect timing! We love soup and looking for a place to eat. This place is cosy, wholesome, great service, it's awesome in it's simplicity and the soups are REALLY tasty! We tried the Wedding soup and the mushroom one. It was delicious! Thanks for all your videos, they've been incredibly helpful!
Dürümce is the best kebap place and also you should try chicken wings and their speacial lentil soup over there.the price is so affordable and all the food is daily ,fresh and tasty ..also the stuff is so friendly😊😊
What's the name of that restaurant with çorba? We're Romanians, we eat a lot of ciorbă, this name we've borrowed from the ottomans that conquered southern Romania hundreds of years ago, and we definitely wanna try some Turkish çorbas ☺️ Thank you for this useful video! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Greeting from Bermuda 🇧🇲. I am going to Turkey in March 2024. Definitely will come to try your recommendations. Thank you for sharing this video. All the best for your channel.
We are having dinner at Durumcen tanksin and to be updated the prices increased a little bit. 10 Turkish lyra in each plate but still very affordable and delicious
if you are near Beykoz one place i REALLY recommend is Mint in Acarkent, they make... everything! and the staff are great, and remember how i said they make everything? they make ALL OF THEM good! always my go to whenever i go to İstanbul, and they havent screwed up ever, good place!
*First time when I visited Istanbul, I gave the locals a face value and trust thinking that they are Muslims and should be fair - only to find out after a couple of more trips to Turkey that in Istanbul, every business owner, every cab driver, every hotel, every service and just about any business is out there to scam the foreigners. The name the price of merchandize 100 times higher than it's actual retail value and hope that you bid low to even 50% and they will still make 40% more than the actual value of the merchandize. Cab drivers in the Sultan Ahmet area will name the price in Euros or dollars, and that's like $50 for a 5 miles ride.* *The Hamami in Istanbul quoted 300 Euros for their top tier Hamami item, I looked at the list of what was included but decided not to do.* *I was visiting the Asia side and stumbled upon a local Hamami, who provided THE SAME EXACT services for 10 euros.* *VERY, VERY disappointed by the dishonest businessmen and services providers in Istanbul. You are simply giving a bad name to your beautiful country.* *Do honest business, and sleep in peace.*
Thank You Bery!! I did have most of the foods you showed here when i was in Istanbul 👌. I didn't have the soup but i did have Lentil soup which was delicious ☘🥰.
There were several places in Kadiköy that were super affordable. During my summer stay, I visited Meşhur Menemenci Cemal Polat almost every day for their menemen with white cheese and a small tea. In the same area (down the hill) is a place called Pidem, which has ... pide! A pide and beverage combo was 55 Tl. Prices have likely gone up! And then there was my favorite, 'need something to hold me until dinner' place for a balik ekmek, Kadiköy Carsi Balikcisi (50 Tl when I was there). They're right off Sogutlu Cesme, one of the main streets, and make their version with pita - much easier to eat! A little more pricey, but still very reasonable, was Destan Halk Lokantasi - one of the cafeteria style places. All of these are in one area that was just a couple of blocks from where I stayed. Thanks for the video - (I'm ordering my weekly 4 tortas ahogadas today, and one is for lunch!)
I spent a month in Istanbul in October 2021, and I stayed in Kadikoy. Meshur Menemenci was a go to for breakfast! Delicious, inexpensive, and very friendly owners. 😊😊 There is so much great food in a small area there. I can't wait to visit again!!!

Dude, now it's 150 TL. When I was there in early 2022, balik ekmek and pide were like 20 TL. The prices are crazy and the quality has not gone up together with the prices
Thanks Bery. I'm coming in November and according to your recommendation I want to go to "Van kahvaltı evi". Thank you for the information about "Çorba evi", I really like soups and menemen.
You should do a vid on alcohol. It’s hard to figure out which restaurants serve beer and wine and which ones don’t. Seemingly no logic. How can you know before you make a reservation?
Food is cheap in Türkiye. Exchange rate is 28 to 1. Love the lentil soup, ayran yogurt salted drink, and any tavuk (chicken dish). Some kuzu (lamb) has that sheep taste so go for baby ram to avoid that taste. Meze usually fill you up before main dish arrives so be careful. If you can afford calories try the Adana kebab or iskender, both delicious but decadent hahah. Only criticism is no cheese or garlic comes with. The Lebanese make that delicious garlic paste with their chicken shawarma. Turks don’t combine cheese with any of their meat dishes, just meat, vegetables and oil and despite being so delicious there’s not much variety, basically five dishes.
I disagree with you as a Turkish. Becouse if you come to Turkiye you can see very diversity food and dishes. But ussually foreigns and turists only know most popular a few food. Just Antep city in southeast of Tükiye, has 600 different recipes. Yes we dont use chesee with Doner but if you want chesee you include your döner wrap a type of chesee name is Kashar(Kaşar). A lof of greetings and Selams to Lebnon from İstanbul - Turkiye
Hi Beri can you please tell me what city on the Asian side in your opinion has less cats...I'm so allergic and I'm coming to Turkey in Jan. Thank u!...ur awesome
voy a viajar en Istanbul dentro de tres semanas, pero tengo curiosidad de como se esta viviendo el conflicto de medio oriente en Istanbul. No se que tan seguro sea viajar alla ahora.
Turkey is costlier than US or Europe and to people try to make money by inflating prices since the interest rates are 50% . Tourist are scared to eat in small eateries. The decent ones will charge to upto 800 - 1000 TL for proper meal. Else you have to survive on doner cabab 😢. Can someone suggest a good place to eat in sultanahmet within 400-500 TL for family of 4

Great Turkish food, but unfortunately not cheap, average prices, like in Western Europe. As a Moroccan I have been in beautiful Istanbul for many times. But in Morocco you can eat more for less price and good quality, like menemen (in Morocco we call that "tjarmilla"). You need to know the local food places, so ask and follow the locals.
Me chupé nuevamente los dedos. Gracias Bery, que delicias. Espero el vídeo en Español. Cuídate mucho 😘 Un abrazo fuerte y caso omiso a comentarios que no van.
I wouldn't say cheap eats as it's infact cheaper to eat in European countries or England like I live in. These are just the small amounts of lower priced outlets but most are double what you show.
This is not a video comparing food prices in different countries, this is a video showing where in Istanbul you can still eat on a budget and GOOD considering the current prices in the city and the inflation. Is meant to show that one can still eat affordable (for THIS country’s standards) in one of the most visited areas by tourists IF one knows where to look 😉
I found the total opposite. Prague, Paris, Amsterdam, Munich, Budapest, Athens, and Copenhagen were all more expensive for the same sized meals when I visited them. Athens came close, but not nearly as affordable as Istanbul.
You are wrong to a large extent. Even the free ekmek bery had with menemen costs atleast 5 to 10 us dollars in low priced resturants in USA and Europe. I lived in all of these regions and honestly the same food inUSA and Euorpe costs atleast twice as much. Please do let me know where in England I can find same food for lesser price. I am going there this November.
What you said has nothing to do with reality. Even 20 years ago a decent meal in an average restaurant in London was about 20 pounds. Today, even the lowest quality meal sold at places like KFC, Burger King, ... would cost you around 10 pounds in London. Also, keep in mind that when it comes to food and eating out, Istanbul is by far the most expensive city in Turkiye.
I just visited Istanbul 10 days ago. Trust me I didnt like any food there, all way too expensive, being a Caadian I felt I am being ripped off. Garbage shawarma 250 TL, all filled with little chicken with tons of fries. Who put fries in Shawarma???. Here in Toronto I never found fries in Shawarma. Every plater of chiken is over 300 or 400 tl. what u get tiny piece of chichen and small amout of rice. Complete rip off. Burger King close to Grand Bazar Garbage. even more then Garbage. 250 tl. Trust me Garbage.
That’s why you should’ve watched our videos or checked our foodie guides to have great options where you won’t get ripped off and will have great food just as shown in this video, here’s the proof that one can eat good, affordable prices compared to many other places even at places in the touristy areas, one just need to know where to eat at ☺️ This is the reason why we make these videos.
So don’t watch then! At least I’m getting out of my comfort zone and speaking in a language that is not even my native one and creating content. Stop being a bully and keep your frustrations to yourself! Accept that there are thousands of other accents when speaking in a different language. I bet you’re the typical dude who only speaks English and smashes on others like me who can speak several other languages 😂
FYI this is my job, I’m a full time content creator, so are you telling me that I should stop working and make a living for what is going on in the world? Ok… Maybe I can send you my bank account, that way you can deposit 💵 for my bills, rent and monthly expenses.
Why are you posting and talking about world politics and sad life at a time when you should be helping people in Gaza. Go do your job and let others do theirs.
This is just a simple UA-cam video - whether it is posted or not has absolutely no influence over what is happening in Gaza. But it will be helpful for other people who travel to Istanbul. I don't see other channels suddenly switching all their content either...

There are cats everywhere in Turkey. If you don't attempt to love, they won't come close. Be careful in restaurants. Sit inside if possible

Lot of love from Dubai ❤🎉
What about islak burger and ekmek balik?
Can we use credit /debit card to pay for everything in istanbul?
Mostly everything, yes, just keep in mind that shops usually give s better price when paying in cash, when paying with card there is a transfer fee and is charged to your card. Is always good to have some cash (local currency) with you just in case.
I think here in Pakistan food is much cheaper then any other countries.
How do we get to Istiklal Street from Black Art Hotel
Excellent !
