100% SURE THIS UA-cam CHANNEL IS THE BEST ONE OF ISTANBUL!! I WISH ANY COUNTRY OR FAMOUS CITY COULD HAVE AN UA-camR LIKE YOU BERY! THANK YOU SO MUCH
Thank you so much for your nice words! They mean so much to me ❤️🥹
I’m in Istanbul now and honestly it seems like a pretty subpar system.
Not being able to use credit/debit card to top up the Istanbulkart, that it expires after 500 lira and that only Turkish nationals & permanent residents are able to use the app seems like a completely missed and obvious opportunity as well as not making things as seamless for tourists as it should be.
Having that said this is a good video explaining this shambles of a system.
I need to buy other Istanbulkart after 500 lira top-up?
@@cristeaadrian9682 Unfortunately YES.

The city officials are probably in league with the scammers.
Bery need to give you a big thanks! I just got back from an amazing trip to Istanbul. I used Tips from many of your videos for food, sites and getting around. I'm glad you give this tutorial because the transit card is a must. A note in addition to your comment about people reselling cards by the vending machines. I was also wary of these kinds of questionable people, but the machines by the T1 tram have high school student volunteers to help you use the machine and select what card you want. They wear t shirt or vests to note they are volunteers and only help you use the machine don't directly sell you anything. We saw them around many tourist sites in the old city, but also by the tram. They were very helpful and a pleasure to talk to them when looking for a little help
I think I saw them too. Are they the ones wearing blue T-shirts?
Thank you!! Your videos have helped me to be ready for my arrival next week!!
Thank you for all the tips!!! ❤
Thanks for the updates. I'm planning a trip next year on April. This video is much appreciated. I'm also using most of your videos as guidance to make my itinerary.
Thank You for your good Job - Important Note: Always Check, that topped Amount is also on your Card, before leaving that Maschine...
I am going to istanbul after 3 days, your video is very helpful. thank a lot from the bottom of my heart
Thank you for the detailed description / comparison.
Thank you Bery this video was very helpful. I was in Istanbul last week. It was my first trip and I enjoyed my trip very much. Istanbul is a beautiful place to visit and the food is awesome.
I have a bunch of family and friends visiting istanbul over the next few months and asked me to write up a small guide for them - I will ask them to watch your video concerning the Istanbulkart. Thank you for the timely upload, makes my work alot easier!
Thanks so much for the video! I'm going on holiday to Istanbul in 2 weeks and by far this is the most thorough and in-depth explanation of how the Istanbulkart system works. All the info that I've been looking for regarding the Istanbulkart are neatly summarized in this video.
Super helpful- thank you 🙏🏻
Thanks Bery 👏👏👏
We are looking to go in October … a family of 14 so this info is a blessing

Probably the most helpful person on all of UA-cam. Love your videos, thank you!
Glad you think so! ❤️❤️❤️
Bery thanks for your help. I was staying in Bekitas and the machines by the ferry pier is where I bought the card. The card was great for going from the European to Asian side. Your tips are amazing.
Thanks so much! Great information!
Thank you! Brilliantly explained. :)
Thank you for these updates ❤❤. Making the trip planning easy for me.
You are so welcome!
Great video as always 👍🏻

Thanks berry for the tips
Hi, Bery! Thanks a lot for your tips! It's always a pleasure to watch the vids of your Istanbul tips! Good job! Keep on going!
Glad you like them!🙏🎉
I would recommend ignoring anyone by the transit card machine giving advice. From my experience, one volunteer by the Hagia Sofia said get the Istanbulkart instead of the 10 pass card as it was a better deal. I showed him my Istanbulkart. He then said the same thing to the guy next to me and the customer bought the Istanbulkart from the machine. The volunteer then repeatedly harassed that customer that he should get at least 1 Euro for his advice. My advice is don't talk to anyone standing next to the machine. You might think of getting advice from the Polis if an officer is there, but most of them say they don't speak English anyway so it's futile.
Hi! Sorry for the scammers. But Turkish people love to help, feel free to ask anyone... If someone ask for a tip, just ignore them ❤ As an Istanbuler, i have helped a lot of tourists in many way never heard of tipping 😂
I been to many countries that harrass scammers. Istanbul was the least i ever been attempted to be scammed. They are not pushy or demanding. If you dont want something say no once they dont bother you. Giving someone 1 euro isnt a scam. He helped you out because even i got confused using the screen to buy a card
@@M-AYhello, im planning to visit turkey on new years can you give me your email so i can have some support and suggestions by you, thank you.
@@M-AYhey I want to visit turkey can you please guide me ?
How would you know that the limit of one Istanbul card sold to tourists is 500 TL, and you would waste your time without knowing whats wrong and how come you cant top it up. I had to buy 2 in 10 days because of this new rip off.
I lost my old Istanbulkart bought 8 years ago.
Appreciate the update.
Thank you so much Bery❤
You are so welcome!
Lovely , awesome and thanks for your tips as always ❤❤❤
In Kabatas Tram station you can find this City istanbul card. But we did not took it. Only Istanbulkard is top. We bought 2 of them, because we used them 11 days every day for different local transportation last month. It is not complicated, it is just simple. 🔝🇹🇷
Thank you for this information. These are insights that locals know and are golden for tourists. 👍
Very expressive video so thanks to you 😊
This is the most detailed review on youtube, thank you so much!
You're very welcome!
Merhaba Bery! Thank you so much for your tips regarding the new changes with the Istanbul card. I am currently on a long break in Turkiye solo travelling. I'm in Istanbul atm, been here 9 days. Will be travelling on to Bursa after this, Bilecik after then and then Konya. May have a short relaxing stay in Antalya too. I would like to thank u for your efforts in making your videos. They're brilliant, precise clear information that you can easily follow. Your a true gem bless you. I've not had to catch a single taxi so far, and I intend not to! Staying in Fatih area neard Kadriga Park but I've been all over, catching all kinds of transport thanks to you. Visited Eyup Sultan and had the famous Guveç, went to Ortakoy and saw the beautiful mosque there and of course I couldnt resist a Kumpir! I've been using the ferries to go Kadikoy and Uskudar. Saw the stunning Çamlica mosque which was an awesome experience! Sorry for the long message, I've never messaged before to thank you yet I've watched so many of your helpful videos. Only felt right to message you knowing I'm in this same magical city! Stay blessed Bery and keep doing your thing!

When you scan the card is there typically a screen at the metro, tram, etc… that reads the remaining balance?
Thank you ❤
Thank you very much. Such clear explanations.
Hi Bery,
Thank you so much for the valuables info, I've just a question: Is it possible to use the city card in the Havaist Bus - Sabiha Gokcen Havaist Shuttles ?
Bery thanks a lot for all these precise and helpful information. I have just a couple of questions. I wanna ask if it's possible to buy the Istanbul City Card also at the airport (SAW) and what is the price now (21 september 2023), if it changed respect to the video. Thanks for the help guys!
This was really informative. I am traveling to Istanbul with my friends next week and this video is really going to be helpful while making a choice of which card to get. Thank you

Hola Berit. Conviene comprar como local las tarjetas? Por precios y beneficios? puedo usar una sola para 2 personas? Ya q estaremos un mes en Turquia
Very Informative video ! thank you sooo much!!!!
You are so welcome!
What a detailed guide! As someone who has been living in Istanbul his whole life, I can say I learned many things about the card I’ve bern using everyday for the last 15 years :D
Yaaaaa! Thank you for your kind words! Every day we learn new things ❤️
Amazing, thank you so much!
You're very welcome!
Thank you so much for sharing this very helpful information 😊
Glad it was helpful!
you are always resourceful. ❤️ 💖 💛 💓
This was very helpful and informational to the tiniest detail! Thank you for the video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi there. Loved the video, thanks, Just wondering how you use the Istanbulkart for a family of 4? Do you tap it 4 times on the tram/ferry/bus etc?
Thank you Bery. Seems not at all straightforward compared to other city travel cards, but you've provided very useful information...and that reluctant machine tho! 😄
Super! Thank you so much!
Thank uuuuu 😊
you are the best among the best thanku
Your summary is so good.
We will travel perhaps 6 times a day, max. Son will stay in hotel room for perhaps half of those, so 3 trips x1 person, 3x2 for Thanya and me. We will be there a week.
You are right Berry! The new card is too expensive. I would never use public transport that much. Its much better to just top the old istanbul card...
I'm planning to go there. Your video is helpful!
Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks again
Very informative 😊
Can you use the Istanbul Kart to pay for the Bosphorus ferry?
many thanks, dear
Have fun!
Thanks for video!
Thanks for the update...I would like to visit there soon coming from uk.
It seems the Istanbul City Card is mainly for purchase online and getting it couriered to your hotel is included in the price - probably why it’s so ridiculously expensive! I’ll just get an Istanbulkart when I am there in October that’s for sure!
Good video, just an updat is the istanbul card is 70 Lira, and each ride is 15 Lira
Hello! Great video! I have a layover in Turkey for 2 days. I'll be visiting with my wife on our way back from the UK. What card do you advise me to buy for these two days for myself and my wife. I do have an old Istanbul Card from 2019, not sure if that would still be functional.
Beautiful city
Hello Bery Thanks for the video and updates Related to Istanbul Card I visited Istanbul in 2021 I still have the Istanbul card from that visit If I used it currently is it still working or has it been cancelled ?
Very informative video. Thank you
I am thinking of going to Istanbul Sep 2023 and doing a Bosphorous Cruise. Do i need to have an Instanbulkart in order to purchase a ticket? If I just want to do rountrip from Eminonu Port to Kadikoy ?? and then back to Eminonu Port do I purchase 2 tickets? (One going and one coming back)? Do I purchase online or do I go to the ticket office by Galata bridge?
Cool. I’m coming next week to spend New Year’s Eve. Any tips welcome. Thanks 🙏🏼🫡
well described. trying to get more info for my travel to Istanbul. Hafiz from Canada
Excelente!
Hi Bery! You mentioned that Istanbulkart can be used for more then one person- I’m going to Istanbul with my mum- how do we use it? Scan the card twice before entering bus/tram or metro?
Teşekkürler!
Thank you for ur information
Any time!
Thank you so much for the update
You’re welcome, Ana! Now you know these new rules for your upcoming trip 🎉🎉
Bery. LOT OF Respect & well wishes for you for this particular highly informative video. keep doing the Best like this one. Million Regards
So nice of you!🥰
Hi I was there last week and out of the blue the istanbul kart started deducting 15 Lira per trip per person.. this happened from usukdar to karakoy ferry and then again from ayasofia to eminonu tram... Any idea why ?
Wow, Bery, your Channel is the best guide for planning an Istanbul trip. I learned almost every detail of the Istanbulkart in your 15-minute video. Need help understanding one thing on Unlimited Pass, as the machine you were using malfunctioned. Does it also take only the banknotes, or does it have upper limits like the other one? It shows TYR 800 for a five-day unlimited on screen, but does it remain the same or increase? Please keep sharing your knowledge and enrich enthusiastic travellers like us.
Thank you
Hello Berry are the prices shown in the video for the istanbul city card up to date or did it change (higher?) and can we pay with cash ( i dont have a credit card) :) (10th february Sabiha )
This was a lifesaver information thank you! We are traveling tomorrow from central europe. Quite nervous...😅
Glad it was helpful! Enjoy your trip 🇹🇷✈️
