Spytle was such a man baby in general. Mepps sent me a tell once during the livestream of armories that he was instructed to mute me as soon as I entered the room and that if I found my way into the stream my account would be permabanned. It’s been so long I don’t recall where the fight started but it armories was it’s apex and I ended up leaving the game for several years around the time of weapon mastery. I only came back after I learned he was run out of there/quit to move on to board games lol.
Anderson was one of the most unprofessional devs I have ever know in mmo history. And that's a lot of mmos. From pc to console. From what I have experience with him, his influence on DCUO was disastrous. I cam back after he left. But, the damage was done and players did not come back.
I didn't know there was a history between you two like I've been playing this game since it became free to play on PlayStation but I've never been super super into what's going on in the community and things like that but I remember being super fucking pissed when they took away hard lights clipping because that was what got me into the game and loving it was clipping with hard light and like 10 years later I'm still playing I'm not nearly playing as much as some other people and I've taken years off more than once. Anyway my point is back when I first started this game I loved it and it was freaking amazing and now I don't even know why I'm still playing I'll probably be taking years off again pretty soon. I just feel the devs really took this game in a bad direction and it used to be so fun and seeing this video and knowing this guy was behind all the decisions I hated really it's pissing me off.
As a programmer (not really into gaming developing, mostly database desing and analysis) i can tell you, if i ever treat a user of a product like that just "cuz i don't like him" the next thing i will see is all my shit removed from my office. I will try to find it but for example in starcraft 2 when the roach costed 1 supply they said "this a great unit, and does not break the balance" then some korean got the full supply on roaches and sayd "u are telling me that shit is balance?"...short story, they changed it to cost 2 supply, thats an example of a decision based on players feedback, some similar thing happedned with the terran unit "The Herc" On dcuo we had...Sr. Creative Director Jens Assdenser who under players feedback was "fuck you i dont like it, i am right", and boom, a great oportunity for and spectacular pvp experience died. And about "balance" i believe they listened to a part of the comunity who just wanted to see their name on top of the scoreboard, i remember back in like 2013 i wanted to play as dps, but truth be told i sucked, so i started as support and did very good, but some other people kept....doing bad. I personally think that doing the awesome hl->jump->fan->jump->rifle->some-otherbs was hard while using a controller, on the other hand, with the keyboard was "easier" but not like captain america would say "I can do this all day", it required some coordination. Sadly... BOTH him and Mepps were like twins. I've seen Mepps also exhibit similar behavior when people disagree with him or call him out on something. IMO, Mepps also needs to go, he's been there too long and I think has too much sway over where the game goes... and it hasn't been going in a good direction for years. I don't believe for one second that he's 'just' the community manager, not being one of the few still having been there since game creation.
ive always had a huge problem when games allow jump canceling and clipping of skill animations i played aion for years and it took them almost 5 of those first years to remove jump canceling from archer animations and they kept it in for gladiators cuz they were a broken class without it
i watched this happen as it unfolded back i n the day lol is spytle not involved in daybreak in anyway at all anymore? if thats the case then why cant we bring back the good days, the old days were the most fun in any game ive ever played, now days its the same thing, 1 2 3 4 repeat
Shame Spytle got as childish as he did towards the end. There is a huge difference between an opinionated player making videos and discussing or even trolling a developer of the game and the actual Creative Director acting like a butthurt 13 year old. It felt like to me he couldn't admit the screw up that was Weapon Mastery and the removal of JC'ing and pairing that with your troll video he took out his frustrations by abusing his position. Mepps has a lot of similar issues with how he moderates the forums when involving you. He can't seem to handle negative opinions even when they are posted in a reasonable manner.
Absolutely not, I remember running nexus or dox back in the day as a hardlight dps and my fingers would legit be hurting because of all the clipping and movement you would have to do. Weapon mastery and AM were CAKE compared to clipping and jump canceling back in the day
Will you be doing an atomic loadout soon. There is no good loadouts from anyone on UA-cam they don't explain and show anything. Keep up your vidoes there very helpful with how you take your time to explain everything someone would need to know about the power
working on atomic currently, I haven't been atomic really much at all because its just not a preference of mine so just getting used to the combos and tricks etc.

Weapon mastery and other bad decisions like paying for pvp replays, removing rock paper scissor, and the easy of A&B and subsequent dlc’s ruined Dcuo. All of these decisions were his. THis is the peak of superhero popularity, DCUO should be destroying the market for MMO's. It had that potential during Origin Crisis (minus the bugs they should have fixed before it went live - another issue all together). But the year after that DLC it was one bad decision after another that drove the league I co-ran out of existence. PVP replays, Weapon Mastery, the ease of DLC's, I still love and play the game, but it will never be what it was in 2011-2013.

As the Creative Director, Spytle signed off on changes to the game, but when it came to a lot of mechanics stuff, like RPS removal from PvP, those were usually the brain child of Tunso taking really bad advice from elitist PC pvp players trying to change the game to better suit them than the main pvp base.
Oh yeah Tunso, the guy that broke Fire for two years by screwing up the power interactions. I also hated how they took advice from the PC idiots on "Making Inner Sanctum harder" which broke it for two years where you had to be lucky if the mechanics worked right and Brother Eye not leaving the fight to beat the thing.

He might've been more inclined to listen if he got publicly dusted in a HL vs HL duel on one of his streams, by a mechanic he claimed to be inferior. Debates on forums don't work with authoritarian personalities, they need to be exposed in front of everybody. If he really thought your clipping was the same as his, that derp video you did on him, kind of robbed you of the chance to prove the difference to him live, as he just ended up ignoring and banning you after that.

Clipping and Jump Cancelling were both intended and encouraged by the developers in the beginning of the game and then the skill gap was visibly shown where players started crying and bitching with what they would have to do to stay relevant as DPS and Spytle took every step necessary to completely remove the skill gap with dps and bring everyone down to the casual level where you can learn how to use a rotation in a few hours rather than a few weeks or even months.
Jump canceling was NOT intended to be in the game. It was discovered by players. Not devs. The devs allowed it once it was discovered and encouraged it from that point on. Except people like you whined when spytle wanted to make it no more. And spytle turned out to be just as much as a manchild when he kicked you from pvp matches. You're very knowledgeable Obsidian. I respect you for that. But daggum. That whole situation wasnt necessary.
@@hendo18 It was found in the beta lol and the Devs had zero problem with it and even took credit for it a few times when there were posts about it being an exploit. It brought a whole new element to the combat system that was unique to DCUO. There was plenty of fixes that could have been implemented to correct the phase dodge imbalance and jump cancelling but they wouldn't listen to a single one because they thought they had the next big thing with WM/AM and guess what the new dev team admitted publicly that was a failure and the wrong direction to take the game but all the damage was done. Stats Revamp was just a bigger band-aid being placed on the game. It's the same with the supercharge crystals in gotham park after 5 years they say that wasn't intended and remove them, remove dueling in instances to take away supercharge regen, take away the supercharge regen from breaking health barrels *ONLY* to add in an artifact that gives the entire group supercharge that you can spam in and out of instances. The devs continually make terrible decisions that contradict what actually worked in this game and now we see the population continually drop. WM/AM balancing destroyed PvP because the devs implemented it without any consideration to PvP both arenas and legends that those effects are still felt today to the point where they have given up completely on that entire community and side of the game. If we go back to pre-WM/AM the majority of the issues aren't even present in the game and it brings back the dynamic combat system instead of 12345 power hitting. That is why the situation was necessary and I fought so hard back then because I knew exactly how everything was going to turn out and it did. I have a friends list of PC players that still haven't logged in a day since GU:36.

I love how he sweetens up completely failing as an actor into something that sounds like it was his decision to do something else. It also explains why he likes to be so dramatic and perform for his cronies.

This devs are Soo salty...I got banned from the Facebook page for giving my opinion...and mepps block anyone that does the same on forums...this guys are really pathetic, hope everyone watch this video and see the kind of Dev this game have.

You both are childish. Whining cause you cant jump cancel which isnt how light was supposed to be played anyways. And spytle shouldn't have kicked you from the pvp matches. Sadly lost respect for both of you.
Clipping and Jump Cancelling were both intended and encouraged by the developers in the beginning of the game and then the skill gap was visibly shown where players started crying and bitching with what they would have to do to stay relevant as DPS and Spytle took every step necessary to completely remove the skill gap with dps and bring everyone down to the casual level where you can learn how to use a rotation in a few hours rather than a few weeks or even months.
Jump canceling was NOT intended to be in the game. It was discovered by players. Not devs. The devs allowed it once it was discovered and encouraged it from that point on. Except people like you whined when spytle wanted to make it no more. And spytle turned out to be just as much as a manchild when he kicked you from pvp matches. You're very knowledgeable Obsidian. I respect you for that. But daggum. That whole situation wasnt necessary.
@@hendo18 It was found in the beta lol and the Devs had zero problem with it and even took credit for it a few times when there were posts about it being an exploit. It brought a whole new element to the combat system that was unique to DCUO. There was plenty of fixes that could have been implemented to correct the phase dodge imbalance and jump cancelling but they wouldn't listen to a single one because they thought they had the next big thing with WM/AM and guess what the new dev team admitted publicly that was a failure and the wrong direction to take the game but all the damage was done. Stats Revamp was just a bigger band-aid being placed on the game. It's the same with the supercharge crystals in gotham park after 5 years they say that wasn't intended and remove them, remove dueling in instances to take away supercharge regen, take away the supercharge regen from breaking health barrels *ONLY* to add in an artifact that gives the entire group supercharge that you can spam in and out of instances. The devs continually make terrible decisions that contradict what actually worked in this game and now we see the population continually drop. WM/AM balancing destroyed PvP because the devs implemented it without any consideration to PvP both arenas and legends that those effects are still felt today to the point where they have given up completely on that entire community and side of the game.
If we go back to pre-WM/AM the majority of the issues aren't even present in the game and it brings back the dynamic combat system instead of 12345 power hitting. That is why the situation was necessary and I fought so hard back then because I knew exactly how everything was going to turn out and it did. I have a friends list of PC players that still haven't logged in a day since GU:36.
