really cool/smart feature on the trailer, glad it worked out so well. I understand that you guys played a big part in getting Live, Work, Wander on the move again, and even though I'm saddened they don't plan on returning to youtube, I am happy that they finally have a roadworthy (and off-road worthy) vehicle to move on with. Very cool of you guys to help them out.
Good thing you caught that early, before everything melted! Usually people drive until there's terminal situations like your VW story. The spindle melts or brakes off and the brakes lock up on the drum......... Awesome save!
Yall's resilience is worth praise, great thinking with the bearings! Its crazy that your old turtle back trailer went everywhere and never had that problem and it was weighed down more. Loving the adventures, thank you for sharing have fun and stay safe, oh and dont forget that impact!
Like it soooo much better when you don't use the background music. The natural sounds of the drive or hike are far more realistic, makes me think I'm there with you. Background music takes away from all that and instead of the being there with you turns it into watching a movie.
As soon as I saw that dust cap off and laying inside the wheel, I was like OH no... Sand/dust just tore that bearing up. Awesome feature on the swing gate! Spare parts.
Glad you got the bearing swapped out there as you said it a really good design for the wheel swing out, but of course it’s going to happen when all your tools and spares are for once not with you still it’s great content.
Missed the premier, on an adventure of our own, but caught it now. Great save with the bearing, and very smart of TB to design things that way. Loved the "impact tool"... I have one of those too. (grin) Until next time... Travel Safe. BTW... Mrs Lifestyle.... the Chicken Teriyaki is GREAT!! Next try will be Korean BBQ.
That is such beautiful country! Isn't nature awesome! Impressive balance you displayed there on that ice. The one time you forget to bring something you always bring...When all else fails, just remember what Michael Scott would say...if nothing else, at least it will humor up the situation.
WOW..... Just thinking.... How many people get to watch a new movie most days, along with being the stars in it, while inspiring others..... Thank you for what you do.
Last year, on the Hole in the Rock Road, in Escalante, we saw an outback style of trailer with the same kind of suspension, with one suspension arm in pieces!! Give ma a solid axle any day of the week.
Thanks for the video. I will continue to watch and learn for our own big tour to Turkey. It goes from Germany via Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Iran to Turkey to our HOME.
Happy to see the SAT phone is paying dividends for you. Very very smart, incorporating the same bearings into the swing arm. As an engineer I always tried to push commonality if possible.
I absolutely love the raw sounds....I am so tired of all the youtubers playing the same 10 free license songs on every video. That said, the music you do add is really nice! Do you pay a subscription or how do you source the audio?
Curious if that was some forward thinking of Turtleback or a lucky coincidence making those bearings the same. Great idea, I love the commonality build approach.
probably forward thinking/less parts to order and better deal when they order larger quantity of one bearing instead of having to order several different bearings
Always wanted to see how this was done using the spare from the swing arm. Sorry it happened, but glad it was you showing how to do it. I would have definitely over tightened the bearing.
The VW story is my story. Learned to seat a bearing on a 1962 VW Bug....then went on to restore 5 more Beetles in my 52 years. Wow...52...am I really that old? Yup!
@@LifestyleOverland and what's weird is that I find people who grew up on VWs, share a common personality and perspective. They also tend to like the same type of vehicles outside of VWs. Take for example, the Toyota. So many of my former VW nuts went on to own a Toyota truck of some sort. Weird I know!
what would you have done if you had no backup bearing? Just curious what other options would help get you back on the path back home safe... Great video as always!
HI KEVIN SARAH & CAROLINE 👋 THANK YOU 🙏 HOW LONG DOES YOUR PROPANE TANK LAST WHEN USING YOUR PROPANE FIRE PIT 🔥? BREATHTAKING BEAUTY COLORS VIEWS LANDSCAPE SCENERY WEATHER & DRONE FOOTAGE TOO 👌 EVERYTIME I WATCH YOUR VIDEOS 📹 YOU MAKE ME HUNGRY ! BE SAFE ! HAVE FUN ! GOD BLESS YOU ALL ALWAYS 🙏 ❤ ENJOYED !
That was a nice design feature of Turtleback Trailer to use the same bearings throughout their product line. Just out of curiosity, does the trailer use the same tire and wheel size as the vehicle?
So you talked about the drone and not using it lately. Is that because it's too cold early in the day? Or is that not a thing? I went and picked up trailer bearings after watching this.
Using a hub for the trailer swing out blew my mind. That’s an awesome idea!
Right?! Saved the day!
Exactly... Mind-blowing. Smart

So glad to see them back on the road and smiling again! Love those folks!
Nice job! Repairs on the trail are always daunting. And huge props to Turtleback for setting up their spare that way.
Good thing you caught that early, before everything melted!
Usually people drive until there's terminal situations like your VW story. The spindle melts or brakes off and the brakes lock up on the drum.........
Awesome save!
nice fix! Way to stay cool and think it out. Really shows how really knowing gear can save your bacon
Great Fix! Happy to see people use their old noggin
Beautiful! And wow! Good memory and knowing your gear and getting home on time!
Yall's resilience is worth praise, great thinking with the bearings! Its crazy that your old turtle back trailer went everywhere and never had that problem and it was weighed down more. Loving the adventures, thank you for sharing have fun and stay safe, oh and dont forget that impact!
Se perciben muy cercanos a las familias, excelentes tomas amigos gracias

Love to see the GX460 offroading!!
As soon as I saw that dust cap off and laying inside the wheel, I was like OH no... Sand/dust just tore that bearing up. Awesome feature on the swing gate! Spare parts.
Sweet video guys!
Great to see the successful repair!
This trip continues to amaze and delight… thank you 😊 (great piece of design on the Turtleback 👍)
That idea of putting an “extra” wheel hub in the spare tire swing arm assembly just moved Turtleback up on my recommended overland equipment list.
Beautiful beautiful and beautiful music. When you coming to east coast.❤️
Kevin, can you make a video on an Entry level battery management system. Like what you started with in silver
Glad you got the bearing swapped out there as you said it a really good design for the wheel swing out, but of course it’s going to happen when all your tools and spares are for once not with you still it’s great content.
Awesome! I seen you on the road again in the area I live! 2/17/22
What an incredible recovery, great work!
Same hub for the swingout is very good engineering. That was awsome knowlege shared.

Quick thinking bro well done
Just beautiful!

I remember when you told me about that bearing on the tire swing out on the Turtleback when we ordered ours! Well done Kevin.
WOW..... Just thinking.... How many people get to watch a new movie most days, along with being the stars in it, while inspiring others..... Thank you for what you do.
Thanks for another great video 😎👍
Nice field repair! I always carry two bearing sets in my trailer, but I haven’t had to replace a bearing out on the trail yet.
Another great episode! Keep 'em coming!
Always the same the one piece you need you left at home 🤔Great bush mechanic ing 🤩👍🏻
Great video 👍👍👍

Sure glad you got the berring replaced !
Great video thanks for sharing how to overcome obstacles
I have the same color 2015 GX and I am having visions. I'd love to see a longer cut of the KDSS in action. That's pretty cool.
Thanks for the video. I will continue to watch and learn for our own big tour to Turkey. It goes from Germany via Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Iran to Turkey to our HOME.
Yay!

Awesome
Awesome adventure.... as always!
Thanks for joining us on the live premiere Tim! Even though it's the wee morning hours in the UK!
Freakin sweet!
Way to adapt and overcome...

Love from Mozambique africa
👍👍

LIKE 883 - TKS for inspiration and motivation 🙌🏼
Great recovery!! I wonder if the bearing in the swing out was planned as a possible replacement for a wheel bearing, or just luck?
The VW story is my story. Learned to seat a bearing on a 1962 VW Bug....then went on to restore 5 more Beetles in my 52 years. Wow...52...am I really that old? Yup!
I've had 4 so far (still have one under a tarp in TN). Love those little guys. Probably another in the future at some point 😂

Did you choose the Lexus more lately for more power or just comfort? I’ve not watched for awhile. Great videos and experiences!
I haven't been doing this long enough to have the experience of what extra parts I need and don't need. Or even tools.
what would you have done if you had no backup bearing? Just curious what other options would help get you back on the path back home safe... Great video as always!
would you have been able to use the spare tire hub in an emergency to replace the hub on the trailer if it was damaged?
Your suv is holding up well.
HI KEVIN SARAH & CAROLINE 👋

As per normal. Great Vid!! Hey Kevin, do you still use the Torque Pro App???
Actually I don't use it anymore. I carry the Blue driver OBDII reader for when it throws a code but have moved away from realtime tracking.
It's not adventure until something goes wrong.
That was a nice design feature of Turtleback Trailer to use the same bearings throughout their product line. Just out of curiosity, does the trailer use the same tire and wheel size as the vehicle?
What roof rack have you guys found works best with the Ikamper?
Trailer bearings will sometimes just bust due to impact. I had something happen fairly similar.
So you talked about the drone and not using it lately. Is that because it's too cold early in the day? Or is that not a thing? I went and picked up trailer bearings after watching this.
Wow are you ever afraid that you may not get back out !
Curios as to why you are pulling a mostly empty trailer?
I was thinking the same thing. Haha. Paid promotion? No?
Surprises around the corner? My wife always like to hike to the next bend in the canyon - to see what's around the corner.
👍😊
How far do you think that mylar balloon travelled?
Be glad you didn't tighten them so tight you couldn't get them off without your other tool.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
🤙
Do you usually carry a grease gun?
Can't believe he didn't check the other wheel ! 🤔
Checked it 👍
Good traveling and welcome to my channel also thank you 🙏🚗🚗🚔🇳🇵
