Brother that looked rough. OMG 13 hours driving with a broken foot. Mad respect. That’s just total dading up, swallowing your blood, and saying this is gonna happen. One tough hombre. Get better sir. Love your content.
Just found you guys about a month ago and just wanted to tell you how much we enjoy watching your family escapades. We are retirees and just marvel at your videos, commentary and the wonderful music you find to include. We originally watched exclusively while exercising on our elliptical but now your videos fill the void of summer TV. Even though we are just at “4 years ago”, we look forward to each new episode and love watching Caroline grow up. Precious family, indeed. “Safe travels”
Great continuation to the story... wow, that scenery is erm, scenic! Even when everything isn't going so well, it's good to see you still enjoying the adventure... lesson for me at least there!
We literally camped in that exact spot in the Dragoons, set our camp chairs on top of the rock and looked for the northern lights in May after the solar storms. Great spot. Nice to see you enjoying our local landscapes! Hope you all have recovered and are feeling well.
I found your channel on part 1. I was thinking the "NOT how we wanted ...." was going to be trouble with Silver. Bad cold or flu was bad enough but a bad sprain or a break. Wow! I did like you content and look forward to seeing all the old videos and finding out how you guys recovered back home. I subscribed. Great story and video and an adorable family.
Sorry to see you all got sick. Hope you are all feeling better. We really enjoy watching you here. We just received our Topo bear and very excited to add it to our collection. It’s one of our faves!!!
My GX460 just did the die on a dirt road thing. Threw a P006A code, mass air flow. Lexus has a TSB put to replace the EGR. Wonder if that might be part of the issue. Had an S10 Blazer with 4.3 Vortec that did the same thing. Chunks stuck in the EGR. I will also be checking the MAF while I’m at it. Air filter looked clean, though.
Would love a list of songs you use, I always find the soundtracks amazing! Thank you for what you do and post, we love watching your stories and trips!
Agree, we did not outfit our vehicles as overlanding rigs (Overlanding rock crawler for me) to hit the local KOA. Yes, the rougher the trail the better to find a dispersed CG hardly used except for seasonal hunters. Thanks for sharing.
Just completely shutting off, fuel spark, power, , and no warning prior (dash light). That’s very odd. It’s like the anti-theft kicked in, or ignition switch. Odd. Good luck with that one. Great vid by the way. Edit- keep us updated on the strange issue.
We spent a summer in Scottsdale living in a 5th wheel... saw 126 degrees and barely kept the camper below 85 degrees with all our blankets stapled to the walls.
New subscriber here. Very well done video:) Wish you had included more description of route location/maps. I live near your route and think I recognized.
At the 20 minute mark, when you were looking for a campsite, you may not have realized it, but you stumbled upon a very well-known known rock climbing destination. Hence, all the sprinter vans.
Glad you guy's were able to get your truck going again, yet I hope you can figure out the cause of the stall. Love watching your adventures and thanks for sharing! I do have a question, what exactly did you spray in your coffee grinder? Is it a flavor shot?? Cheers
Many many years ago my 08 FJ's engine cut out. I was climbing a loose gravel hill on VAFB, all 4 wheels started to spin and i hit the brake. As soon as i put it in reverse it died. Hasn't happened since 2010.
12 hours of travel?? 😳😳 Yikes. That's a LONG day. And those electrical gremlins are something man. Makes your mind race with a hundred different things. Then you gotta worry if it'll start again each time you shut it off. Keep us updated if you find anything out. I too hate when the public is too public-y. 😅
crazy trip. Great views, but the ending...yikes. Thank God your wife is fully trained up to drive the truck and trailer. I mean, my wife can drive my truck, but if I added a trailer she would have not been able to do it, espeically in those tight quarters. I've rolled my ankles on almost perfectly flat ground. My ligaments and tendons are so stretched that I have almost no way to stop it. So I almost ALWAYS were mid-height shoes. Even my dress shoes are now boots. I wish you a speedy recovery ('course by now you're probably all healed up).
Sounds like it could be the battery. I recently just had the same experience with my Ford Explorer. I took it to my mechanic and he said the battery is going dead.
Great video. Sickness aside. I've always been curious as to how my "foreign" vehicle would be recieved if I went that close to the Mexico border. Of course I would be legal on either side but it seems to be a source of tension.

My wife and really enjoyed this episode! Sorry for the foot. Question, all the weight the 4runner is hauling, is that on the stock axle? How much weight are you putting on the 4runner?
Hey Kevin, you have a pretty consistent soundtrack. Who is the band/artist you are using? (Though I’m more of a hard rock lover, but I quite like the songs you are using. Has a Rend Collective feel. Can’t help but think the tunes were written “for Him”. )
i wonder if the reason your engine died was because of a lack of oxigen i had that same thing happen at 10000 feet pulling a trailer with my 2006 tundra. a dirt air filter was my problem.
19:11 Prettiest gate closer I've ever seen! Love you guys!

Thank you for showing for peaceful and beautiful the borderlands are. Yall would love Bisbee.
Great cinematography showing the beautiful landscapes Kevin
Excited to watch this instead of the debate tonight
WOW!! What a trip! Hope you all feel better soon!!
Boa tarde. Adoro seus vídeos. São bem diferenciado. Parabéns
Wish you a speedy recovery.

Your music selection this episode pulls at my girl dad heart strings!
So sorry to hear of all your issues on this trip. Wishing you all the best.

Thanks for sharing , safe travels and be well soon .
Thanks 👍
I hope someday hit a route like this , so beautiful and amazing views down there also close to Mexico

Hope all of you are recovered and well now and Good to hear the Live Work Wander is alive~
Awesome and outstanding. Thanks for sharing and taking us along

Oh. My. Gosh. You guys. Hope everyone gets feeling better soon. Great videography, though, and amazing, beautiful scenery.
That was tough. You made some great choices. Well done.
like it was mentioned, better watching this than the debate ! . since these are from a while back i assume y'all feel much better now .
Hope you’re all better; thanks for the travels 🤩⭐️😎
Just came across your channel! Love it! It looks like you may have been camped in Gardner Canyon?

Zero codes to work from so far. Not even a misfire code.... So strange

Perhaps park neutral switch is starting to have some issues sometimes tends to rust causing poor electrical connection just an idea
Thanks. We're keeping all ideas on the table 👍
Yep. We enjoy the outdoors here in AZ. Except summer. Summer is bad. I personally only camp above 8000 ft in summer. Trust me on this one ;)

That TRD Pro has stock size tires?
275's 👍
I would check your grounding lugs and straps first.
All good. Thanks for the suggestion 👍

Only thing I can say is This Too Shall Pass. Before you know it y'all will be back on the road. All the best
Absolutely, always rough in the moment but it gets better 👍
What did Sarah spray on the coffee before she ground it
It's just a water spritzer to keep the static from making the grounds stick. They say it enhances the flavor... but I think that's a stretch.

You simply must add Dual Snorkels. I hear it is all the rage in Bavaria.
What did you spray in the coffee grinder? Just water?
Ive been stoved up with a busted shoulder for the last 8+ weeks. Already cancelled a trip to S. New Mexico. Hope yall feel better.

That's a potential even though it's a fairly new Odyssey. Connections are good.
If it’s running, then it’s not the battery.
I am curious if you stalled because the torque converter was locked and your RPMs dropped too low.
Does anyone know what hammock were they using????
I have a similar cheap one from Amazon
It's a 2-person by Prometheus Design Werx
Minuite 21:30 is the best shots in this video. Memories that will last a lifetime.

Try wiggling your ignition key. Might be time to twice the ignition switch.
Ignition switch is on the list of culprits. Thanks!

🤣 Your competing against the Presidential Debate.... Good idea!!
So what was Silvers diagnosis?
Still a mystery. Hard starts are getting worse too. Suspecting injectors.
My wife and really enjoyed this episode! Sorry for the foot. Question, all the weight the 4runner is hauling, is that on the stock axle? How much weight are you putting on the 4runner?
All stock here. At one point she was 7,100 pounds when we were living in it full time. Now she's much lighter around 6,200.
@@LifestyleOverland oh wow! Nothing bent or broken from the weight especially when off-road?
The heavier load out was hard on rear bearings

First is check your battery terminals..
Keep the ECU on the list. It can cause random weirdness

Then I'd feel sorry for the eagle 😂
