came for the ideas and stayed for the cat! I love her!
I told her she’ll be UA-cam famous and she walked away from me. 🤷♀️
I like to bring duct tape in case the air conditioning vent is blowing directly on me at night. Also a couple of clothes pins in case there is a window curtain that needs to be pinned closed.
Clothespins are a great idea! I’ll have to add a couple to my travel kit.
I love how interested the cat was with your bag.
You know what they say about curiosity and cats. 😂
@@AllBodiesTravel lol
I just found your channel! My husband and I are larger people. I love seeing a fluffy person give real people ideas for traveling. We are going on our first cruise in February 2025. Thank you for the great tips. Also, love your cat ❤
Thanks for watching! I hope you love the cruise as much as I love my cat! 😂
Try a dry bag made for kayaking as a laundry bag. They're lightweight and fold up small except for the closure, they're waterproof so they won't leak, and you can dump in as many glassfuls of water as you need along with the detergent packet and a few items of laundry. Squish it around to wash, dump and fill with clean water to rinse. No room in the sink? No problem!
Also, I've had good luck with Enell front-clasp bras. Very supportive, no underwire.
Oooooh brilliant! I hadn’t thought of the dry bag. Now I’ll have to try it on my next cruise!
A large "zipper-type" freezer bag also works.
I do this too with a 5 litre dry bag and it works great!
My cruise favorites -1) double walled Contigo water bottle with a locking flip top and caribeanner handle I found this little unicorn at Ross for $8! 2) shoe caddy from Dollar Tree that only holds 6 shoes I pack carryon only so I don’t have much, but this was great for organizing smaller things (like body glide 😊) 3) the 4” foldable bins from Dollar Tree; one each for snacks/meds and emergency pouch/makeup and toiletries 4) assorted zip ties; I used zip ties to hang the shoe caddy from a hangar among other uses I’m with you on the toothpaste tabs !
I used silicone zip ties for my necklaces - hanging the shoe caddy sounds like a great use too!
Ear plugs, every time 😊 I also agree with the foldable backpack, I always use mine to death when on shore excursions. Also in a pinch, you can use shampoo to wash your clothes, works really well.
I’m lucky in that I’m a heavy sleeper, so I don’t need earplugs. And shampoo makes sense!
I use flexible straws for my necklaces when I travel to keep them from tangling.
Oooooh, good tip!!
I always carry Twinings Earl Grey tea and my Avanti keep cup which is insulated metal and leak proof. It's travelled the world with me.
Thanks for the product suggestions. I'll get the body glide for my Southern Caribbean cruise next year. My tip is to take magnets and put them on your stateroom door, makes it easy to find when your walking down the hall to your room!
That is a great idea - those doors all look the same! I like taking magnet hooks and clips for inside my stateroom.
Love those glasses on you ❤❤❤
Thank you!!
My cruise faves are 1) portable clothesline 2) folding metal coffee filter to make my own coffee in my cabin and 3) rechargeable motion sensitive nightlight … can use like a torch or attach to cabin wall because it has a removable magnetic back!
Thanks for the video 😊
I use laundry sheets rather than pods/liquids
I fill a small dry bag with water and the sheets to agitate the laundry properly
Bonus - they don’t count as a liquid as they look like a dryer sheet. I cut them into quarters at home and put in a reusable ziplock
Oh my goodness! You are amazing thanks for all this info and being so honest. I've never heard of the BodyGlide but will be looking into it!! My all time favorite travel gear is.... for cruising I like to bring magnet hooks. And I always have extra empty Zip-lock baggies for who knows what for all my travels. I also use them to keep my liquid shampoo & ect in just incase they leak while flying or whatever. I know there is solid/bar shampoos & all but they're expensive for daily/weekly & extended stay trips. So the zip-locks are my all around travel hack Thanks again for your insight.
I love magnet hooks for cruising too!
I offer up my laundry hack which we have used on cruises, Airbnb's etc. First a vacuum storage bag size large (it's been the strongest bag we have found) to use instead of the sink. (I bought a scrubba dry bag years ago, it was to small for bulky items, and the plug came unglued.) Laundry strips (we used True Earth, do your own research and find a favorite), and a Rick Steve's clothes line. These all fit an a very small compression cube for travel. The laundry strips were used on our last trip, they were winners for taking out sweaty smells, although I will do a bit of spot scrubbing. Clothes into the bag, laundry strip on top, fill with enough water to be able to swish things around, and prop in the corner of the very small cruise shower. Then walk away and leave your clothes soak for an hour or two, come back spot scrub if needed, dump the water squeeze out your clothes, then rinse in the bag with fresh water. Really squeeze out your clothes, you can also use the towel roll method. We find it best to wash frequently, particularly on a cruise, as places to hang clothes to dry are limited, sometimes our clothesline works, sometimes we are creative with hangers. We have also switched to a salt crystal deodorant, so no left over deodorant smell in our laundry. Laundry services on cruise ships can be really hard on your clothes, and shrink things.
Thank you! Always appreciate the details. :D
Do a bit of Laundry every time you are showering? Thanks ::: enjoyed your views! ❤
I’m told linen does not absorb odors and can be worn more than one time in hot weather. They say it’s even better than 100% cotton. I’m about to try this for myself.
Tide sink packs wouldn’t work well on a cruise ship with a small sink but they are awesome in a hotel room sink. Have used them twice when travelling internationally. The secret is to ring them out afterwards and roll them tightly in a towel to get the majority of moisture out
I think I said Tide pods, but I meant Tide sink packs. 😅 Specifically made for handwashing in sinks. Rolling in a towel is essential if you don’t want water dripping everywhere!
@@AllBodiesTravel oops I meant tide sink packs :)
Great video! We look forward to seeing what you do next!
Thanks so much!
I never travel without my chargeable fan. Small and sturdy can be handheld but I generally run it at night for white noise to sleep. Has a handle that converts to a stand.
Nice!
That sounds great. Mind telling me the brand?
I always have a dry bag for damp/wet things. I also love my solid shampoo from Vunella. I have traveled to Europe for 21 days in a carry on.
21 days! Wow! Also I’d love to spend 3 weeks in Europe. 😍
Vunella solid shampoo rocks
I'm more about an insulated mug- then I can have water, iced tea, coffee, hot tea, and only bring one container.
I’m a water bottle aficionado. Daily use.
However, on a ship, the bottle is for overnight and being ashore.
Glad to meet you and your videos are terrific and so informative!
Glad you like them!
I’m plus-sized and going on my first cruise in July. I’m happy to find this! I think we may be friends who haven’t met yet - I have bought that Cruise On plug, an Anker MagSafe charger, and a packable backpack already! 😂
Editing to add: I LOVE my Bagsmart small jewelry case. It’s so tiny, but keeps everything together and tidy, and it was super affordable!
I bought 2.5 gallon ziplocks for washing clothes with the Tide laundry packets. I’m also bringing some smaller ziplocks so I can bring a snack out of the dining room if needed.
I’d love to know what cruise line you’re going on! I hope you enjoy it!
@@AllBodiesTravel My sister & brother-in-law chose, as it’s a celebration for my niece graduating high school. There’s more than a dozen of us going (mostly my BIL’s family), which is stressing me out a bit. It’s on Carnival.
Good ideas.
I HATE collapsible water bottles! They just give me an excuse to keep them collapsed and not full of water. Then it all gluggs into my face when I try to drink. I always bring my fave bottle that has a handle and a caribeener, so it's always handy and hands-free!
I’ve got a short trip coming up where I’ll try out the water bottle. I’ll keep in mind the face-glugging though!
I brought magnetic hooks to hang wet clothes on or any clothes. Because all the walls are metal.
Not every ship has metal walls tho
Try washing your clothes while having a shower, more space and no worries if you get splashed. I use a liquid soap for that so don't need standing water.
Great tips I havent seen anywhere else! I have not tried Tide sink pods, but have had good success in tiny sinks with an Amazon find! I searched for "hand wash laundry detergent" and found tiny sink laundry sheets that fit into a 1.5" x 2.5" plastic case! They worked great for a few small things in a small sink - undies, socks, camis...
And they have the bonus of not being liquid and no risk of busting open! I’ll have to look for these - thanks!
Silicone zip ties - brilliant! thank you :)
Thanks, hope they work for you!
This was a great video!! Thanks
Glad you liked it!
New sub. Love your suggestions because they are not the same as everyone else’s! I’m planning for 13 day cruise trip in June.
A short extension cord, like 3 feet. Sometimes the power blocks are heavy and fall off the socket, so plugging the block to the extension cord fixes that. Also extends the distance, and of course, you can plug more things. And if the socket slits are loose the prongs on the cord can be bent a little. The 3 footer I *always* take. But for cruises, I also take much longer extension cord.
Some cruise lines list extension cords as something you can’t bring, so I play it safe and get one from them.
Ethique solid shampoo and conditioner. I did the quiz on the website before buying so I knew what to buy as they have a few in their range
Yes! Love them.
Try the hello brand of toothpaste tablets. Those are my favorites. Agree on the collapsible bottle. I lost the lid and it didn’t keep anything cold. Not a fan of that bottle specifically
I have some Hello ones on order! Thought I'd give them a try.
Thank you very informative. Loved your cute cat too 😂
Thank you! 😊
I love the gotubb containers for small items, keeping ibuprofen in my bag, jewelery etc, they're my fave and it's super satisfying how they snap shut. I used to put my favorite face wash in one and face moisterizer in another since you only need the tiniest little bit even for several days
I’ll have to check them out - thanks!
Body Glide for people of ALL sizes for your feet! Prevents blisters !
Brilliant!
I always travel with my Tupperware utensils set, and a bar of Dr Bronner soap.
I used to have a travel silverware set and then the knife got confiscated by TSA because it was serrated. 😭
Helpful
Glad you think so!
Thanks for the reviews! I didn’t find Shout wipes worked well for me, so I’ll be taking the Tide pens next time. Cute cat!😊
She’s insatiably curious and getting more and more interested in being on camera! 😂
Good ideas, new Sub
This works. Shower with your clothes on. Use soap and rinse well. Remove clothes and hang up.
Whatever works for you!
I always take cold medicine, Dramamine (had to use this last cruise) and allergy medicine.
I also take Dramamine, as well as ginger candies, just in case.
My personal must is a timer type watch instead of my iwatch. Ship time stays the same, but sometimes, wifi will change the time on the iwatch…….causing a lot of pier runners. Lolol. I have a question about the body glide. I’m a runner and currently use the arm and hammer brand. But, on longer runs, when it’s very hot, I still get raw spots. I’m wondering if it was hot where you used the body glide? The chub rub brand was awful. There are brand that many runners use that are specifically for runners, but they’re very pricey. I go through tubes faster than deodorant lol.
I was in New England, so it wasn’t hot at all. I have used regular stick deodorant as chub rub prevention, in Atlanta in September, and it works great too. I have some short trips coming up where I’ll use the Body Glide again and report back!
