Happy to hear that! We'd be glad to help you narrow in your search. If this kind of resort life is what you're looking for Koolina is just on option for you on the island of Oahu. There are other resorts on neighboring islands as well.
Hi Derek!! From St. Augustine Florida....Just found your channel the other day. Love the way you take us along for rides through the different neighborhoods. It's so informative and gives you a real feeling of what it's like to live in all the different areas. Our plan is to move to Hawaii someday soon. When we do I'll be sure to contact you and the Core Team 😊 Until then keep making these awesome videos!!
I went to the same school that President Obama went to, which is Punahou. His grandmother & grandfather used to live right across the street from Punahou High School and his grandmother used to be the Vice President of the Bank Of Hawaii(if I'm not mistaken...or it could have been another bank if my memory is off...)..
Thanks for the video. Ko Olina would be my favorite place to live in Oahu. I’m battling with cancer right now. If the Dr. tell me I have limit time to live. I would sell everything and move there right away.
We just found your videos about a month ago. We’re hoping to move back home next year around Summertime. We’ll definitely be in contact as it get closer to move time. Love the videos! 🤙🏽
Hawaii is the best place to be brah. Where u like stay is pretty much da kine people u like surround yourself with…… you will be able to tell where your comfortable. Just drive to all da neighborhoods….pretty much no locals in ko’olina but…. Lol
While I love vacationing at resorts (I’m thinking of taking my daughter to the Marriott when this pandemic stuff truly ends), it’s not something I would like to live in full time due to the transient flow of people. Having said that, I have always been curious about the “lifestyle” at the Ko Olina area so this was a nice video to watch…appreciate the work.
@@movingtohawaii Thx Derek. I think I told u I’m prob 7yrs away from moving to the islands - I’m waiting til my daughter is off to college - so as I get closer I’ll reach out to get a game plan. These videos u do are really helpful to me - that one in Mokuleia and Waiulua was really great since I’m keyed on that part of the island.
Aloha Ethan. We are planning our Ho’opili series fyi. It’s Oahu’s brand new development and still going strong. We have 3 clients whom we helped enter and win the lottery, so they’re waiting on homes now. One thing I like is that, in this market you can get a Ho’opili home and turn around and sell it for more the day that you get the keys. **this statement may not be evergreen in every market in the future but today it’s true** In terms of your return on investment, it’s a solid one right now by Hawaii standards.
Thank you for this great video! As a realtor on Oahu, what type of property do the majority of mainlanders purchase ? Single family, condos, townhouse?
When buying a condo here, can I use the projected vacation rental income as income to qualify to buy the property? Like when buying a multi unit on the mainland, the bank considers the units as income towards the loan. Any info helps. Looking to move to Hawaii in august. Oldest child is going to college there.
Aloha. For the exact strategy you’re referring to, the property has to be a multi-family on tax record rather than what many HAWAII properties are which is a makeshift multi fam or a property with ADU. That said, there is another strategy depending on zoning. Can you sign up on our website so that we can schedule a call?

We love the Marriott beach club.

I stayed in Ko Olina years ago when the Fairmont was still JW Marriott. Then stay at the Marriott Vacation Villa's. Love that area.

Hey Derek, do you have any thoughts on Ho’opili?

wild guess, the square pits are for playing horseshoes.
Ooooh, haven't thought of that!
Dude, Please don't compare Ewa to Mililani. Please don't. Maybe you can compare Kapolei or Waikele to Mililani. But definitely not Ewa.
