Good Morning Amy my mom and me too leave the bone in we use the dark meat of the chicken with a lot of veggies so it's a one pot meal and our dumplings are the fuffly kind
I have been making chicken and dumplings for many years. I live in the south. I use whole chicken cut up or bone in skin on thighs. To make my dumplings I use self rising flour and lots of pepper. To make my roll dumplings I use cooled well seasoned chicken broth from chicken I boiled. I make them just wet enough to make a ball with flour. Roll them out very thin. Cut strips with butter knife. Secret is to let them sit on counter for at least two hours. Put shredded chicken back in pot with broth. Bring to rolling boil and pinch dumplings in 2 inch pieces. Add pepper. Then add more. Wait a few seconds before adding more to pot so they won’t stick. Stir often. My secret to the “white” broth is to add milk or half and half until white. Let simmer until broth thickens.
Another yummy dish..I make mine the same way except I roast my chicken breasts and I'm lazy so I use canned Biscuits and flatten them out then cut them in noodle like strips then put them in the chicken broth sauce..so yummy but yours look yummy too! I love you and Chris together so much..i sure am super happy for 2 people that I've never met..love looks good on you sweet Amy and Chris is a lucky lucky man

With dumplings because you didn’t have chicken in your freezer and you coughed in your arm but you didn’t wash your hands and arm. With everything going on with Covid you have to very careful with any little cough, please be careful! My 63 year brother died from Covid 2 years ago!

Every Chicken and Dumpling recipe I've ever seen is loaded with pepper and salt like an ocean. What can I use to substitute this? I cannot eat black or white pepper, and must watch my sodium and salt content..
Gotta have that EXPESIVE Le Creuset 5 QUART Braiser oven in your 3,000 sq ft kitchen- oh yes!! Cant have a normal Dutch oven in a normal size kitchen!! NO!! Ah well, the typical American woman!

But every time you and my dad makes a meal or desert you both say the same thing. OMG its not going to taste right OMG its going to be nasty OMG are people going to like it UGH. The sauce for chicken and dumplings comes from the flour in the flat dumplings.
The sauce probably came from flour. But the dumplings went in after the sauce. She forgot to record making the sauce. I'm guessing?

We don't have dumplings in the UK like that we put them in the oven to crisp up looks nice tho but we prefer in the oven ❤

Just one little tip: Fix the recipe so that when it prints, it has your name on it so people know it is your recipe.
