- Belgian Malinois: Dog Breed Profile
Characteristics, History, Care Tips, and Helpful Information for Pet Owners
The Belgian Malinois (pronounced MAL-in-wah) is a diligent, loyal, and highly intelligent dog breed. Large in size with a very streamlined, athletic build, this breed is both strong and agile.
The intense and hard-working Belgian Malinois is extremely well-suited to become a working dog, especially in police and military operations.
This breed can also make an excellent companion for the right person.
Though sometimes mistaken for the German shepherd dog, the Belgian Malinois is a distinct breed.
The two have several similarities, but the breeds are not directly related.

My little girl is my PTSD service dog. she is wonderful and knows when I need distracted with her doggy hugs. I’m very active outdoors and she loves all our activities. She loves children and automatically plays with any of them and protect them.
Малинуа лучшая!
I would disagree that Mal is a large dog, it is medium size, but most of the other info is accurate and good advice. It is definitely not suited for a pet in most cases. Also, you did not mention that dog requires a strong confident handler, mine is very obedient to me, but I had to leave him once with my parents and he sent 2 turkeys a duck, a goose, and a lamb to an afterlife. Prey drive on these dogs is insane.
Sorry bro they are small unfortunately not medium or large
@@4kyt203 small? sorry but thats ridiculous bullshit.
@@4kyt203 You call an 80 pound dog small?
My dog us bad ass and hes smart as shit
As if you compared this breed to an American showline german shepherd
Literally the most hated bloodline in Europen schutzhund clubs.
Which BM’s usually compete in
Just picked up a female I plan on breeding her with my brindle Dutch shepherd 😍😍😍😍
Please DON'T do this. No reason to mix these 2 breeds. You may find homes for all the cute pups [and they tend to have large litters] but, in 5 years, most will be in shelters, have gone through multiple homes, or have already been put down. 99% of dog owners don't have the time, knowledge, patience, etc., for either of these breeds. Don't take my word on it, watch vids of what the pros say. We don't need more backyard breeders. Please, do NOT do this, there are not enough homes for abandoned/surrendered Malis and now, you want to mix this breed? No. Just no. Ask any vet or professional trainer.
These dogs are onry in nature 😅
