It IS a good video, because you have to keep voltage low enough to not go over what is rated, but you also can't go with too much amperage because you may heat up your wires. The series/parallel combination is a great compromise to keep both voltage and amperage within sensible operating range. Thanks!
Thank you! We just got 2 delta pros and hooked up 8 200watt panels. Never got a good flow, then after clearing some trees, they suddenly stopped charging! We had all 8 in series and our solution was to connect 4 to each generator rather than all 8 to one at a time 😊
Lots of us are new to Solar, I'm Still learning to. U took my Idea on how to mount the panels to the roof.... Have u had any roof leaks yet???? I have a Delta Pro w/ an extra battery n a Ecoflow Delta Portable on the way , gonna have it connected to, 2 Solar Panels for the inside fridge n a couple of lights...
Thanks for the info. All i want is to know how many solar inputs have the Delta Pro and also, what is the maximum input Voltage. So i got my first answer! thanks!
The Newpowa 200w 24v panels run in a 4s2p configuration would keep anyone under the EF DP specs @ 148.8V and 10.76A the Rich Solar Panels put you right over by a hair at 150.4V and 10.64A both are very close in specs... 👍
4S2P makes 20 amps to the controller 21.28,to be exact. This is over the 15 an amp limit. But I read in another response that ecoflow says it’s ok to do that.
What are you using the Ecoflow for and how is it working out ? Thanks for the info. It’s not a dumb video, I’m about as techtarded as it gets, and I’d probably blow the thing up before I could use it.
We pick up 255 watt solar panels For about $50 Each bring your multimeter to test them . We use the equal flow ,we run the wife breathing machine little one ,tv, swamp cooler, even can run a small ac ,
Thank you for making this video. How many watts of solar input does your Delta Pro report in full sun? Can you please confirm that these are Rich Solar 200W 12V panels (not 24V)? I think this setup outputs up to 97.2V (under 150V limit) and up to 20.4A (over 15A limit). I asked Ecoflow about your setup with those panels and they said: "You can only connect no more than 6pcs of that solar panel in series to Delta pro. And yes, you can wire two strings of 4 panels in series, and then connect them in parallel. It would be fine for the current to exceed."
Hello yes they are 12v. Everything you said Is right no more than 8 (200 watt) panels to 1 ecoflow delta pro. When the sun is out it will pull in 1200 to 1350 watts. I have seen it go as high as 1450 watts. Let me know if you have anymore questions.
@@P4LJoe I asked Ecoflow about using four of their own 400W panels, 2 strings of 2, connected in parallel. It would be less than 150V but over the 15A. They told me: "this actually makes no sense to the unit, since the MPPT board inside the Delta pro will limit the current to 15A max. " I've been searching for a set of panels that adds up to 1600W, less than 150V, and 15A or less. I can't find any. It seems to me like it is not actually possible to achieve 1600W of solar input with the Delta Pro. Maybe that explains why you don't see more than 1450W. Then again, 1450W is 90% of 1600W. I've never seen my Ecoflow 400W panels do better than 87%, so maybe your choice of panels is as good as it gets for the Delta Pro. Maybe two strings of 400W panels would be equivalent.
@@P4LJoe In case anyone is interested, I've got my Delta Pro connected to a manual transfer switch and have tested running most of my house off of it with three Ecoflow 400W panels attached. We have a fridge and chest freezer, some computers, lights, not much. We use maybe 150W - 400W throughout the day unless I also add the furnace for the blower motor to move cool air from the AC (not on the transfer switch). The furnace blower motor uses about 550W, so I usually leave it powered by the grid. With the furnace blower motor on the grid, I find that the three 400W solar panels can power the loads for some part of the day while also fully charging the battery. The battery can keep us going until the next morning if we're careful, but it has run out multiple times so I bought an extra battery which solved the problem. It looks like the three 400W panels cannot fully charge both batteries while also powering our loads throughout the day (late August, early September near Toronto Canada). I'm hoping to get a 1600W setup like Crypto Insight Miner to fully charge both batteries during the day. Question: do your 1600W of panels fully charge your Delta Pro and one extra battery while powering your load during the day?
Since the above post I've learned that you can overpanel the Delta Pro, as long as the voltage stays under 150V. I bought six REC brand 370W rigid panels to mount on top of my wooden shed that can output 2220W, but where I am they usually produce less. Overpaneling helps a lot on the cloudy days and fall season. All six panels can output up to 22A, so some will be wasted. I'm currently using only 3 of the panels because of the available space where I am mounting them, but have tested with all six connected for about a week. I also ended up buying a second extra battery for the Delta Pro which made a big difference. The cost difference between Ecoflow 400W panels and rigid roof mount panels is huge. I ended up selling my Ecoflow panels since I don't need portability.
what brabd of panels you got and also how many plugs you connecting ? you running the whole house? Im building a small tiny house and need some advice as far how long i can run it for ect . Nice simple video.

I also have a Delta Pro! So I have (16) 100watt panels, so using your method, I would connect 8 panels each in series, then connect them in parallel, with each other, using 2 branch connectors...correct?🤔 Thanks!! Also, did you place nails in your roof to secure the panels, or are they secured by the wood, if secured with the wood, how is it secured?🤔 Thanks a lot!
I have this system but I am wondering with them wired to go to the ecoflow pro where is the unit kept? Outside? Or do you run ithe cables through a window? Sorry dumb question but I'm a tad unsure.
Hello I'm from germany. I was hoping that someone would show how to properly connect 1600 watt solar panels. My Eoflow delta pro can tolerate a maximum of 110 V. I have 4 pieces 400 W a 38,5V Vissmann Modue and each 2 paralel switched and works very well Thank you for your great vieo many greetings from germany. Dirk
If you go to high you will be cut of - there are Saftysystems they cut the Input if you go higher as the Specs allow. In my Case with 4 Panels @ 410WP its right on the Edge.
I have a delta pro and panels on the way, What extra wiring or connectors do I need to purchase to duplicate your setup? Does the pro come with a long enough wire for the panel to the pro ?
I have 8-200 watt panels too but am only able to get 1200 watts. Thinking because it’s creating more than 15 amps so it cuts it off there? My maximum power current is 9.8 on my panels so I’m thinking that’s the throttling down to only allowing 1200 watts?
150 volts is a hard rule. 8 panels in series breaks this rule. Your ecoflow restricts the input. Hence 1200 watts. 15 amps is a soft rule. you can rig in parallel 4 and four. Your amps will be up to 20. Ecoflow says this is OK.
@@P4LJoe question was - if you put them parallel as well then one has about 8-9 amps and other 8-9 amps, so its more than 15A Ecoflow rated for. You have near 18 A. Volts are ok this way .May it cause problem?

Kinda but left a few questions. What was the voltage of each 200w panel…so what’s the math look like? And…what was the voltage once 4 panels were connected? I have panels that are 345w and 48v each. So, trying to replicate what ur doing…but not sure.
3s2p. I got 6x 350 panels 47.2v Voc 9.07 amp 2 strings of 3 ….the pro will limit the amperage fine but can’t handle 150v plus so I can’t wire 4 in series ya see
Well you can't use 4x400 in series due to the voltage limit, 400w panels are over 40Voc. You have to be below open circuit voltage limit, even though normal operating voltage will be several volts lower than Voc....So max of three netting 1200watts, at 120+volts. Also if any in parallel, then the current would likely exceed the 15a current limit. It's quite difficult to get right to 1600w of production without exceeded amps or volts.
