Building your own hinge - that is hardcore!
And it actually works 😁
Once again Tomasz you have come up with a solution to a problem I didn't know I had. Nice work my friend. 👍👍
Hehe thanks mate
Brilliant, Tomasz! Fantastic work! 😃
You don't even need the cable ties! Just put the hoses through the first hole and another one, as you need it. 😉
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks mate, good point, be good 👍
Nice build
Thanks!
I needed a similar solution, but mine was a simpler build
It is a loop of string hanging from the ceiling :-)
Hehe if it works 👍
Excellent video
Thanks 👍
The speed holes were a nice touch. 👍🏻
good job young man
Thank you kindly
Well, well, you must have read my mind as I bought a five metre hose for the dust extraction cart, which I made based on your cart last year, and wondered how the heck I was going to handle it without me tripping! Many thanks for showing how to build this dust extraction boom. An ideal addition to any small workshop. (BTW, my shop only measures 5m by 2m.) 👍
Great that my video had perfect timing for you 👍 now that is a small shop.
@@CasualDIY Mine's even smaller than that, 3.5 m by 2.3m! It was my second bedroom in my flat/apartment. I'd kill for a decent garage.
good build, btw u could use door hinge :)
Just wanted to make it "mine" all the way 😅👍
Excellent
Great job!!
Thank you!
Simple et fonctionnel bien joué 👍👍👍
Thank you for watching 👍
Nice ! Will use this idea myself as dust is becoming a big problem.
Go for it, we'll worth making
Love the project Tomasz. I need to do something similar for my table saw overhead dust collection. Cheers 👍😎🇦🇺
Glad you liked it 😁👍
Great idea and love the simplicity and cost of the build. I'm definitely going to try but might add a second hinge point in the middle to create a bi-fold, otherwise I can foresee myself whacking my head on it constantly otherwise.
hehe thanks, cost was one of the major factors for this build :)
Nicely done, thought you might have used the pillar drill for all them holes.
Quick project, didn't want to waste too much time on it and I can't get the cart with my pillar drill as all the timber for kids playground is in the way lol
Like it. You could not only connect the hose to the table saw but also suspend the blade guard instead of having it attached to the riving knife . If you put a Y adapter in the hose you could have suction on the guard as well as the main dust outlet..
Another use of the boom could be to run a mains power cord longside the vacuum hose to supply corded routers etc. . I have seen people cut the cords short to about 4 inches on their power tools and fit an inline IEC socket ( like a kettle) The mains lead on the boom/hose having the corresponding female outlet.
Some good points there thanks 👍
A great solution. Very clever. 👏👍
Thank you kindly
Brilliant
Thanks 👍
Great simple boom arm, excellent. I went for a system using 40mm pipe & made blast gates which works fine for me 👍. I thought the audio level was a bit low on this video.
When I get a bit more professional vac, high volume one then I will make a system like that.
Yes sorry about that had some issues with my new microphone. Hopefully it will be fine going forward
Thanks for sharing! I'm going to follow your lead and build this. Great vid.
Thank you kindly
Yet another enjoyable and useful video Tomasz. You recently asked for feedback on a few topics including audio, I found the quality to be as good as ever but for me, the volume was way too low, probably only around half of what I would prefer.
I actually had problems with audio on this video. There was something wrong with mu new cordless microphone and it created a lot of "background noise". So in my software I had to make some changes and unfortunately that's the best I could get. Hopefully going forward that won't be an issue.
Another great idea I’m in the process of doing something similar for my GoPro for overhead films etc
Hmm that's a good idea 😁👍
Great video, that's given me an idea for sure, I happen to have a long length of 1inch(ish) thick wooden pole, and a few old curtain pole ring hooks.... I might be able to do something similar across my long bench, but by attaching it to the hanging hooks, allow the hose to slide back and forth ....definitely worth a go.... :D keep em coming Tomasz, my brains too old to do the thinking alone, it needs a jump start....lol
Hehe glad that I've inspired you. Go for it it's definitely worth making 👍
Clever solution well done 👍
Thank you kindly
Great idea
Thank you! 😊
That's handy.
Yep, works great 👍
I realize this video is a year old. Might I suggest the following UA-camr, ua-cam.com/video/PULn3jU1vjg/v-deo.html. He makes his out of plywood and does a similar thing of removing material to reduce the load. Depending on the size of a woodworker's shop, adjust length as needed. For me, a 4' boom arm off of a mobile shop vac cart would allow me to cover my full shop. Like I said, great idea.
Hehe the main reason I have not used Ply for this it's because is nearly as expensive as gold :P For me its a temporary solution ( that will last for several years for sure ;)
😂looks like it should be a bit higher, to close to forehead ouch!!!
It's OK for me, but you can make it and hight you need 👍
Where is the best place to find long lengths of hose in the UK?
Amazon or ebay I'd say
I bought 38mm pool hose from Amazon, but it can be a bit stiff, found hose from Norfolk Saw Services better.
Well ,this video sucks😂🤣💕👍
🤣👍
