  • Relax as I show you my vintage Polaroid 250 Land Camera. The Polaroid model 250 is part of the series of Polaroid cameras that started with the Automatic 100 and finished with the Automatic model 450
    This Polaroid camera shares a common set of features with all models in this line such as:
    Folding bellows, automatic exposure, and use of 100-series Pack-film. The 250 is one of the higher-end models of the 100-400 series line of folding Pack-film Land Cameras, and though similar to the 100, 350, 360 and 450 models; it lacks the electronic development timer of the later (higher-numbered) models.
    Manufactured from 1967 until 1969, early models of the 250 have a larger viewfinder window than the later Zeiss-Ikon rangefinder models. Functionally identical, the earlier model has a larger window at the rear. About midway through the 250's life cycle, the viewfinder was changed to match the same type that would be used on the 350 and 450 models, effectively meaning there were 2 versions of the 250 produced. Having the Zeiss-Ikon viewfinder, mine is an example of the later model Polaroid 250.
    The 250 is a very nice camera and it has a few advantages over the majority of the other, 'consumer' models in the series, such as:
    Zeiss Ikon-designed rangefinder, with projected frame lines and parallax compensation.
    Tripod mount on all-metal body
    3 element glass lens (114mm f8.8)
    Retailing for $160, the 250 was produced from 1967 until 1969, when it was replaced by the model 350.

    A little about what it is I’m doing in my videos:
    Why am I whispering or talking in a soft tone? Because this video, is an ASMR relaxation video. What is ASMR? You can see for yourself by visiting the link at the very bottom of this page and reading about ASMR for yourself.
    The videos on my You Tube channel portray some of the typical day-to-day things that I do for relaxation, as well my never ending chores. This video was produced with relaxation in mind and hopefully has some ASMR qualities. Stress is harmful to your well-being and in today's fast-passed world, stress management is more important than ever, and so I hope this ASMR video in some way acts as a stress-reliever for those watching, as well as a sleep-aid for anyone having a difficult time going to sleep.

    Back then, taking a photo was almost like an event. You didn't just press that trigger because it was impossible. You had to prepare. And for that reason, that one picture that captured a moment in your life, was much more appreciated.

    • @RelaxingASMR
      @RelaxingASMR  4 роки тому +1

      Exactly. And in the case of instant photography, to hold in your hand a photo that was physically present at the time the photo was made is cool in and of itself. The Same light that fell upon your subject at the moment in time the shutter snapped fell upon the instant photo. A instant photo is more of a moment frozen in time, than any other type of photography in my opinion and because of that it has an intrinsic value to it that digital or lab-process photos just don't have.

    Once again, another great video. The cool thing about this camera is that with this specific type of instant film, you can do emulsion transfers of the image and set it onto almost any medium (e.g. hand-made Japanese rice paper). The process is a little involved, but could make an amazing video too. For those interested, here's a site on how to do it: www.alternativephotography.com/wp/processes/fuji/fuji-emulsion-lift
    Here are a few examples of what an image looks like: 500px.com/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&page=1&q=emulsion+transfer&type=photos&category=&order=score&license_type=-1
