I agree the mk7 gti is much better with a manual & this is coming from an mk7 dsg owner. The longer gearing is so much better from a roll. On the other hand the R is definitely better dsg since it has very short gears regardless of the transmission.. & the awd on the launch is definitely better with a dsg
But clutches on manuals do break. And if you start tuning, better save up for a clutch, because the stock one won't hold. Where as DSG's can handle twice the power of factory.
@@JustinStrifeI agree however much cheaper to repair a clutch on manual than dsg where I have had 2 cars one was mk7 r and mk7.5 r and both had mechatronic issues down the line and cost a bomb
@@Mo_R9 I'm still on the original DQ250 DSG on my mk6 GTI with 149k miles. Added a K04 at 134k miles. I plan on swapping a DQ500 out of an RS3 into my mk6 Golf R once I have enough money put aside.
Both are cool transmission options. If you want the fast times go dsg. If you want full control of your car/total engagement go with manual

Which is faster dsg or manual i heard on short is dsg on long manual?
Manual has better/longer gearing so from a roll it will have a slight advantage nothing crazy, dsg is good as well
My favorite cars
So they both have the same top speed and acceleration? I wish i knew how to drive manual man they seem to have a faster reaction
I’ve got manual
you still got that srt8 ?? how’s she holding up?
Well, Manual doesnt break, DSG will. 5000$ repair minimum.

Clutch jobs are so overrated, these golf clutch’s are a diy job on driveway for anyone with any idea. It’s really not that crazy
