Got one in my ute, BLOODY awesome such a different vehicle now. had a couple little issues but the boys at 8speed are great to deal with and have done an awesome job. they are great offroad and on. you can actually use the power to launch from those pain in the arse traffic lights. do yourself a favour and get one

jeebus, im always sus about more than 6 spd gearboxes regardless, this actually impressed with the sport mode.
like im sure people who are AUTO heads would think its shithouse because of xyz, but for the person who sees something like this being in his car he can buy as an old man a decade or so later, man im so fucking for it. i hope this takes hold of a sector of
we dont get the "redlines" you might say of manuals, but that transmission is working overtime considering the rpms and the gears it has to "think" about, i know its parameters

Haha thanks mate yeh I’ve spent to much money to not use it 😂 plus it’s my first solid axle car!
I say clean but I guess I mean well engineered, tough stance and way better weight distribution at the front with relocating the axle, way better approach and departure angles, big fan of the custom rear tub. Oh and obviously the 8speed conversion and tune will help a heap throttle control and crawling. Well thought out rig and built to use. 👍👍. I'm not even a fan of land cruisers but this one I really like.

how does the clutch work in an auto?
The ram 1500 has been running a version of the zf8 for over a decade and the Jeep Gladiator also runs it very reliably off-road (see “the-road-chose-me” and his full lap including cape york and gunshot). Any interest putting her in a container and doing the rubicon trail in California? My 4WD club will be more than happy to guide and host
Mate it is a dream of ours to bring the cruiser over for the rubicon trail ! Maybe one day
100% that is a goal of mine to do! Just cant afford to do it currently but one day hopefully late next year!

Is that the same ZF found in Ram 1500s and Jeeps? I had a ram, and have a bmw, love the 8 speed. You could toyota v8 a jeep! The best of both reliability and crawlability.

The conversion kit must be a heap of work, as you can pick a ZF 8Hp for about 2-4K so close to 18-20k worth of labour and adaptor kit…
You should ask the guys the exact box they are using mate , few variations available
Also wiring, Transmission computer, Gbox adapters, Gbox mounts, Flywheel to converter adaoter, Transfer adapter, Spud shaft, Front tailshaft spacer, Shifter, Engineering costs aswell as labour to fit. Also everything is made from billet and made in australia not imported and comes with the brains to make it all work together!
Alternate options is the 6 speed toyota conversion for 36k fitted or 31k for the kit.
@@macpreston yer that’s where all the money is for sure, you probably could have gotten it done cheaper but would it still be working 🤔.
You get what you pay for at the end of the day, and quality and skills are worth money 💪🏼

Can have it rebuilt for the extra 4k or 8k for upgraded internals one. or you can spend 36k on a toyota 6 speed conversion! Alot more parts involved than just the gbox! And unfortunately you cant buy them new as far as im aware!
