From a 4th year apprentice sparky who does everyone 12 volt systems in there 4wd, vans, utes, trucks it’s good seeing another sparky do the exact same thing as I do for my cashy work, best to put a fire extinguisher in the car just incase shit turns downhill, there is a company that makes a bracket for under the seat and touch wood haven’t used it yet on my car but have used it on a skid pig once and saved the car 🤙🏽🤙🏽
I've been running a 50Ah lithium for a year, and if you're not running a big inverter or camping in one spot for a week, it's all most people really need. I can run a fridge (A Kings fridge, at that, so not that efficient) and a basic 12v camp setup for 2-3 days off it, and the battery will be fully charged in 2 hours driving. If I wanted to stay stationary for longer, can easily add in a solar blanket to keep it topped up.

79's coming together very nice. We just got all the sony ES 5 channel amp,ES 3 way speakers and new floating head unit in our new troopy from AAV on the goldy here and it sounds friggen good.

4 inch dash speakers suck especially in an old 80 like mine, they dont look like they've changed at all in 23 years 😂. I added 6 inch speakers in the doors but kept the drivers side 4 inch one in and connected it to the UHF speaker output for that bit of extra volume or when your passenger has the mic (meaning also the speaker with the hideaway XRS units)
Mac, keep a spray bottle with soap and water on hand. Not only does it help getting those wires through those little grommets, it will kill wasps and hornets and bees. Label it tho.🧐
When you mentioned that you run the wiring through the car and then the firewall, did you run the wiring along the door footwells? Or through the roof and then down the pillars?
I have a question, I was always told to use a heat gun on heat shrink, not a naked flame. Being the gun sparky you are, can you shed life any light on why?
