Great video [as usual]. People seldom speak of this. I'm glad you describe this in terms of "energy". It's important. We often "sense" or can "feel" by sight if done more "relaxed". It's a difficult thing to describe. But, we are more able to sense openings and flow when in this state. Wing Chun is mind-based and "energy" based as a system, NOT movement-based. This is why so many fail to understand the art. It's hard to "see" on a "line". This is why peripheral vision is more responsive. Your content is always great. I hope you are well and keep spreading our art!
You can't do chi sao without a partner. You can go through the motions and positions of poon sao (rolling hands). However, that is very limited because you will never feel the connection, energy and pressure from a partner. I'll have to do a video on the motions and positions of rolling hands. That way you can have a basic idea for when you find a partner.
While you can't do chi sao solo using the wooden dummy you can feel feedback on your own energy. The nice thing is that you tune your own energy with consistent feedback, however you can't practice feeling unknown energy.
