Thought I'd upload a quick, easy-going cover for you guys this week! I've been on a Ghibli kick recently, so I thought this song would be appropriate to post. It's an English version of "Become The Wind" from The Cat Returns! Most of these wonderful lyrics were written by UA-cam user anabellexxxx, but I tweaked and changed some of the phrasing around for flow! A big thanks to her, though, go check her stuff out. :)

I literally cried when I realized I know this song. I remember watching that movie so long ago, it was one of my big favorites back then. I completely forgot about Cat Returns' existence, thank you for reminding of this beautiful creation.

Just watched the movie and I have to say... It was really very good. Strange, but very very good.
I recommend watching Whisper of the Heart and then rewatching The Cat Returns. I believe it'll be a little less strange :)

His name is the baron and the baron was first in the movie called whisper of the heart (please watch it its my favorite ghibli movie)
i feel like using the Baron from Whisper of the Heart was meant to pay homage/honor Miyazaki's good friend who directed Whisper and was going to take his place as head...only to die not long after making Whisper of the Heart.
I'm almost certain that the girl in whisper of the heart wrote the cat returns (according to story of course)
Nakumare that friend was Yoshifumi Kondo who died at age 50 of a ruptured aneurysm in 1998.

I think this is one of my favorite covers of this song. I've heard a few others from my other favorite artists that I have and yours has the nicest, simplest tone to it. Not that theirs wasn't nice, I just think your voice really matches the simplicity of this song. Very beautiful.

I just watched this movie for the first time! It's such a relaxing, whimsical fun movie! I already had heard the original version of this song and loved it, but finding out it's from this movie is great! Then I found out you made a cover of it over a decade ago! Have loved your music for years, and this is no exception. It captures that whimsical nature so well! Keep believing in yourself!

One of the most criminally underrated Ghibli movies. It gets so much hate, but I found it to be so charming, succinct, and poignant.
The message is straightforward. A girl who dreams of a life where she drifts along aimlessly wondering when her dreams will come true. She is confronted with the shallow nature of this thought and meets the Baron who is accomplished and intriguing. He shows her a life of purpose. What is her response? To continue to dream? Yes! But also, to take action. The movie ends so simply yet so profound. No longer is she sleeping her life away. Or wishing for other peoples down fall who have it better. Instead she gets up and decides to go live!
I saw a snipet of this movie a while ago, just finished watching it now. I wouldn't call it extatic but it was a nice one to watch, funny and light hearted. The credit song was just the cherry on the cake, had to look up the english dub
