i really like these covers that maybe aren't 100% faithful to the standard literal translation of JP lyrics but make better sense in an English-speaking context while still conveying the same feeling
I forgot how much I loved this song. I haven't heard this or watched The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya in such a long time. Might watch it again, probably subbed, since I mostly watched and prefer the English Dub. Excellent work. I don't even mind that it's not the hard rock version. This was soothing. Jose Osorio I used to be so addicted to slice of life school anime because I used to be like, "I wish that was my high school life". I moved on from that feeling afterwards and haven't watched anything of that genre in a while, but a lot of my favorite anime are from it. Haruhi Suzumiya, Azumanga Daioh, Genshiken, Wagnaria, Lucky Star, Clannad, etc. I might re-watch a few of those sometime.

HARUHI (all caps referring to the anime, not the character) is great if you're patient and in it for the ride, that is, not looking for anything especially in your anime.

I have been working to overcome CPTSD for years, and recently I was experiencing a very critical window when I was so overcome with fear and despair that I was in danger of significantly backsliding, severely damaging important relationships and falling deeper into addiction. Listening to it, I imagined myself singing this to the young boy that had no one to comfort him growing up in the isolated terror of a toxic household, knowing that he would continue to face that horror imprinted in his soul for years after he escaped. I am going play God Knows when I wake up on July 18...the recorded version by Ms. Ama Lee of Lee and Lie fame that is here on her channel because I believe in my heart that her version is the best but everyone will have different opinions and we all can disagree with that . I am fine with that but I want everyone to take the time to remember those who departed from here on this earth whenever it was natural or human in cause. Because we ARE here, we can remember the departed from that fire and that grace and beauty CAN rise from the ashes as we deal with forces seen and unseen and KNOW that in the arts especially animation that TRUTH prevails even that one story in the millions is not completely understood to everyone...take the time to give peace to yourself and listen openly and deeply. Might watch it again, probably subbed, since I mostly watched and prefer the English Dub. Excellent work. I don't even mind that it's not the hard rock version. This was soothing. Jose Osorio I used to be so addicted to slice of life school anime because I used to be like, "I wish that was my high school life". I moved on from that feeling afterwards and haven't watched anything of that genre in a while, but a lot of my favorite anime are from it. Haruhi Suzumiya, Azumanga Daioh, Genshiken, Wagnaria, Lucky Star, Clannad, etc. I might re-watch a few of those sometime.

It's probably just me, but on 2:27 , when she sang, "Let's put it in the *past* ", it sounded like she choked on the words as though she was crying; like I felt some emotion well up in there & I started crying. I don't know.

Hey...I mean hi to everyone...look I don't know if anyone wants to do this but if you want to...I am going to make a self silent tribute to those who lost their lives in the KyoAni fire that when I had found out it was July 18 here on the East Coast of the United States, in Gainesville, Florida that morning as I was waking up. I am going play God Knows when I wake up on July 18...the recorded version by Ms. Ama Lee of Lee and Lie fame that is here on her channel because I believe in my heart that her version is the best but everyone will have different opinions and we all can disagree with that . I am fine with that but I want everyone to take the time to remember those who departed from here on this earth whenever it was natural or human in cause. Because we ARE here, we can remember the departed from that fire and that grace and beauty CAN rise from the ashes as we deal with forces seen and unseen and KNOW that in the arts especially animation that TRUTH prevails even that one story in the millions is not completely understood to everyone...take the time to give peace to yourself and listen openly and deeply. I f anyone has anything to say...just let me know but I am personally doing for myself and I am not trying to steal from others...not this song (it is Ama Lee's of Lee and Lie fame so either listen to it here on this channel or better yet, please buy this song and don't steal it.) or anything else. I just want to play this song in silence when I wake up that morning on July 18 because I care and because of that day, I had never knew of KyoAni that day....Now, I try to find out so much about them and any manga or videos that I can find. So, please write back....anyone....Thank You. :)
