Should I do these more often? Let me know :)
yes
Yes
Doublsmm yuh
Doublsmm dude you just make my day better, because i love the what's inside.
Yes
the sony center speaker coil and magnet if you move one woofer you make energy and that wil go to the other woofer i had speakers that had the same thing
stein game channel Correct. It is to do with the change in flux in a magnetic field, and induced current.
I saw what happened and I was a little boggled too, but then I remembered that speakers are basically electromagnets and that it would work the opposite way
Moving the voice coil in a magnetic field changes the flux. Thus a current is induced and sent to the other speaker.
same
electro magnet
That speaker with super woofer is not Sony its technics cause I've got the pair
White woofer - Technics super woofer. Nice video =D
The woofers are probably wired in parallel so pushing one creates current that moves the other one
The Sony speaker will "Xplod" on the blowout XD
That thing where you were pushing one of the woofers and the other one was moving with it was purely because that woofer you were tapping was sending current down the crossover to the other woofer. Notice when you tap that woofer the other one moves but when you do it the other way, it doesn't do the same thing. That's just because the voice coil on one of them is super beefy and is able to generate electricity better than the other one.
The other one moved a bit too
ugh u demon! stoll it right outa my mouth you know-it-all jkjk think minds great alike hahaheh
I dont know if anyone's already answered this but ... Speakers and microphones aren't too different to each other. In fact you can use a speaker as a mic, it won't make a very good mic but it will work. So in that cabinet with the 2 woofers, both of the woofers are connected together, so when you tapped on one of them, it was acting like a microphone, generating a small signal, which made the other one move.
i frikin luv u doublsmm keep up the good work 1st btw
Doublsmm yes u replied dude ur so awsome I’ve bent subed since like 8k
I love this kind of video! Reminds me of my cousin and I and what we would do with speakers just laying around. Lol
Dude your videos aee just soo FIRE 🔥🔥🔥 Keep up the work
love ur videos man
Nice video. The net sound cabinet seems to be made quite nice, but it doesn’t look to have dampening material in it or a proper crossover. Pair that with a crappy piezoelectric tweeter, and you have a crappy sound.
Can’t wait to see these blown!
That Sony cabinet looks nice, too. It’ll be interesting to see if you can get some parts express drivers that are matched with the preexisting crossover, and maybe an air motion / ribbon tweeter in there, too.
That’s exciting, I can’t wait to see your Frankenstein boom box
Great vid keep it up man
I picked up a nice little dvd cinema Toshiba SD-63HK which came with a used TV was going to sell it on but found it has coax & optical in puts so might set it up in the other room & run off the TV as can do 5.1 from any source.
That Bass I Love You sped up sounds like different song. Hahah and btw awesome video once again.
You make great videos keep up the good work
The sony speaker I had a pair of them they came with the surround sound kit the smell of them I HATE of the box the foam rot was a disaster but they were a lovely solid box and great cabinet worth replacing the drivers or do a recone HOWEVER! the smell. I had to replace my tweeters twice in some 10 years of usage which was a shame still love to see them.
That "sony" super woofer is a technical speaker that came with the sa eh50 stereo system, also the front plastic price is not just for decoration it actually helps with the bass although these speakers weren't designed to play below 40hz as the app on the original stereo unit cut off and frequency below 40hz
I love your videos I’m Big into speakers and audio like you as well I have mostly bose speakers
The one with the “Super Woofer” has the “Technics” brand on the back of the box!
I believe the woofer cone moves up and down when you press against the other woofer because the flux is altered when you push down on the cone of one speaker because the voice coil of that speaker is moving inside a magnetic field, which creates a change in flux. This change in flux then induces a current, and this induced current makes the other speaker move as they are connected in parallel in the circuit. Similar to a generator I believe. When the stator coil spins, flux is constantly changing, so there is an induced current generated.
One woofer moves when the other is pushed down due to electrical current being generated in the voice coil when you push the cone down and it back feeding through the crossover to the other woofer, it's also sending some current to the tweeter, though probably not enough to damage it..
I would like if you make a boom box with the Sony speaker. Btw good video👍
This channel is amazing
I have made my speakers like you did the center channel. Mine sounded good to. I go on ebay and by a 3 way crossover. Some that are three way that has two bass cross over.
I've got two exact Technics like that one!
Recently I tested them at full volume with Dolby Amaze and didn't blow :)
As a replacement for the foamrot Speaker I would use the Visaton W 170 if these are 6,5" Woofers
The other woofer moves because they are connected by cable, and the woofer that you move with your hand sends signal (as a microphone) to the other. Sometimes if you talk to one of the speakers you can hear your voice in other.. :) That is very cool :)
13:05 moving the cone generates electricity that moves the other cone ... like two electric motors in parallel, move one the other moves as well
Luv ur vids👍👍👍💙
You still looking at the Dali Zensor 3s? I own a pair and highly recommend them the bass is very strong due to the 7 inch driver and they compare very well to my old Cambridge Audio Aeromax 2 speakers which unfortunately broke, I think it would also be cool to see you rocking a setup with a Dali E12-F subwoofer as I use that sub with my Zensor 3s as pc speakers and the bass out of that sub is pretty damn insane and in would like to see what you think of a pre made sub by Dali
Think that the speakers with the super woofer are Technics speakers
yep that is 100% Technics after looking at the way its built inside i had a pair of them as my first speakers
oh i didn't know that aha just looked it up and its the Japanese name of the Panasonic brand, well you learn something new everyday :D
Using a 10"woofer 3-way pair of Technics as the rears. Picked up at goodwill for 20$, and they're not terrible!
yep technics , Ive had thosw speakers. Still got the woofers and tweeters, it wasnt a really bad speaker but also not great.
there woofers are quite hard to blow i had a 800w amp and couldn't get it to go so i had to plug it into a wall to get it blown even then it lasted about 5 seconds lol
As you move a voice coil across the magnet it acts as a microphone except bigger and heavier so in turn less effective BUT it does create an electrical signal so it backfeeds to the crossover and it can travel backwards to the input contacts and basically go through the crossover again so all three components are receiving a signal but that other woofer is the only one That shows it.
Speakers work like an electronic motor with a magnet and coil, if you have a small electric motor and spin it by hand so the magnet is passing over the coil it will create a voltage, the same applies to pushing a speaker cone in and it in many ways works the same
Now you made me wanna buy use speakers boxes because I have decent speakers sitting in my closet and I want to add them to my system
lol that tiny teac speaker just cracked me up the cabinet must have costed more than the speaker itself
the two big speakers are connected to each other in parallel. As as you might know, when you move a a speaker cone, it generates electricity. (You are inducing electricity in the voice coil.) so that generated electricity goes back in the other speaker, making that generated electricity move the other speaker. If you ask me, i think that is VERY cool. Great video, by the way! :)
Nice vid! what second hand store? Might go for a drive and check out the crap they have over the next couple of days ;)
That So y speaker with the rotten area how do you prevent that ? Or what did this person do to his speakers for that to happen ?
Pressing on one woofer induces an electric current in the coil in the opposite direction which causes the other cone to move outwards. It couldn't have been box air pressure due to the port and the foam rot.
I'm assuming one of the woofers is midrange blocked and the other is bass midrange. This is done to improve bass response without having two copies of the midrange causing comb filtering if the speaker is on its side.
Can you do a video where you would show cheap but good pc speakers/subs i have a logitech x-230 right now
I have never watched a 29 minute video with out skipping before 😂😂
Adam same
Adam not so same
Same haha
Electromagnetic induction causes the other speaker to move. The one you are pressing is generating some emf which moves the other.
speaking of P-E whats the best tweeter on there
The reason behind why the speakers are moving opposite of each others is because one of them is wired + on - and - on +. If there were no foam rot, it would have minimal low-end
Aww 60fps great ass videos like always man
Pumped for blowouts..
Would you bother reviewing the Aiwa Exos-9 portable Bluetooth speaker?
13:19 I'm pretty sure that is caused by the coil workin as a generator when you push it. There is some sort of connection between the woofers through the crossover I guess.
Definitely make a Bluetooth speaker great video is love what you did at the end with the mix match speakers
l think the reason the woofers do that is because when you push on the woofer you're probably creating electricity that is being transferred over the cable and into the other woofer. kind of like how a fan that is powered off, but spinning, can back charge into it's controller.
Hey whats the difference between a speaker with a poked in dust cap and a speaker with a unpocked speaker?
electrical connection in the crossover. When you push one power is generated and sends the same power to the other one.
I wanna see da boom box idea in the future
When you press on the one woofer, it produces a signal on its input. This goes through the filter to the other woofer and drives it. thats why it moves
Can u measure the last speaker ? box pls ? and material thickness ? :D
make it a bt speaker
All this speaker have crossover inside?
Large sealed box + small drivers = Surprisingly decent sound
(I have a pair of 1996 Zenith SRF-711B's which have slightly beefier drivers of the same size, and they ain't as bad as you think. They can be heard on my channel if you scroll down some)
I would’ve reformed those Sony woofers. Those were nice
Subscribed!!!
Do the Dayton speakers blow out
How do you prevent foam rot?
It happens becuase any speaker when mover physically the coils around the magnet generates electricity and sends it to other woofer so it starts moving.
So, You can generate electricity through a woofer and use a booster to boost it and use for powering other stuff
you should keep the sony, jvc woofer speaker. that's cool
12:50 a speaker can also be used as a mic! It’s a fact. Usually though, smaller headphone drivers work best as microphones. A mic is pretty much a headphone driver in an ice cream cone shaped enclosure.
Which amp is better phonic or cv
Sony uses a low pass filter separate, built into their amplifier. Hence the two terminals.
id save the sony and jvc. the sony/ panasonic (even if it doesnt look so hot) is actually a capable driver. ive had a few of their super woofers and ripped them apart. suprisingly the coil is actually very thick and the top plate is slighty flared up. also ive had jvc subwoofers and honestly theyre capable aswell..
Pro tip: When you see a speaker with a port, or spider webs, there's a 99% chance that once you take them apart, the insects will escape, then 2 months later you find your house infested with bugs and insects, whatever that came out of there will reproduce really fast, and you can't contain it.
the foams of the teac speakers can you fix it
if u have pushed the dust cap aaccidently grab a tape and put it on the dustcap put the tape that it can stick to the dust cap just u can pull it and fix it
Nicee
When you push the other woofer it sends a little bit of power to make
It move
The bass test song i use is Aqua drop it has great lows and would be a good sub blowout song
Yes because is funny to see how speakers were built
Since both speakers are going to the same crossover when you move the voice coil over the magnet you are causing an electrical charge like a generator that's why the other speakers moving
By the way the super woofer is made by Panasonic
I had the same ones but named Panasonic same drivers and cabnit
What was the model number of the teac speaker please
Those foam rot speakets when you press pn other speaker it generates electricity and send it to the other speaker
Nice video 👍
it is very easy to put new surrounds on they sell the nice rubber ones and they are fairly cheap not much work would be a great project video.
what is the model number of the sony speaker?
Yes
When you move the cone on the speaker with it hooked up to the other one the cones are loose because the foam surround is rotted away and so it moves because of the small electrical signal going into it from the movement of the other one
And please don't do stereo with driver's that don't match. That's so damn annoying. Go mono.
I was very surprised that teac speaker actually sounds okay for what it is
Why does the other speaker move when you press the other one? Principle of electromagnetic induction. When a magnetic field passes through a conductor it induces a voltage and with a load in this case the other speaker you get a flow of current
What happened to your light?
If you take liquid Elmer's glue and put a small layer over the kinda rotted foam it will save it it dries like rubber and is flexible
He read my mind when he said he was going to put the jvc woofer and the superbass one in the Sony enclosure
the radio that would have came with the speaker with the super woofer would have had its own output for that woofer, more power than what is driving the others. thats why with the same wattage it didnt do much.
hey try playing triboss aqua drop that will push any speaker to it's knees.
saber tooth critics Listen to "THX - Woofer Coocker" there is some serius ton of bass.
In the So(not) center you do not have 2 woofers ,but 1 woofer 1 mid and 1 tweeter. And that "generic" size you say is called din format.
Cool Vid
you should do more of these vids
Dope
Sony be really low-key giving surprises.
Woohooo!!!😂😂😁
The sony and netsound speakers with the dome tweeters look like they have Audax tweeters.
