They can literally stop printing Red cards for a year and Red aggro will still remain the most dominant T1 deck in Bo1

Red Leyline+Cacophony Scamp+Turn Inside Out+Monstrous Rage
For a 11/2 scamp that not only hits for 11 combat, but then flings itself for another 11... And if 4 Scamps aren't enough you can use Heartfire Hero instead. And you can fling it with SellSword as well, that deck is horrible, and even Malone who played it, hates it.

Razorkin Needlehead, for those times, when you just want your opponent to have just as much fun with a Wheel effect, as when they're stepping on lego.
Niche interaction, but I think it's interesting to note that kaito is NOT a planeswalker on your turn - that would be 'creature in addition to it's other types.' This means he's something of a non-bo with cards like the chain veil.
Also wont lose loyalty due to combat dmg.
Pretty sad CGB never caught on with the tech of ninjutsuing kaito when his original kaito is unblocked, just to get double emblem triggers
In the first game, you could have looped kits, getting two +1/+1 emblems each turn :)
He sometimes has a lack of attention. If he attended to the animations and blue signs, he would have understood that he could do that.
It wouldn't be CGB without massive misplays.

@@megapixzel That said, VAs with low vocal range are a bit annoying. It's not always fun knowing exactly who the VA is because every character they voice sounds identical.
Off topic: Took me a few minutes, but I think the voice actor for Kaito is Todd Haberkorn, who voices Ling Yao in FMA
I also realized this today. I heard his voice and went "wait, that's the Drifter!" I've played with Kaito several times on Arena, idk how I never noticed it until now.

Leyline of Transformation makes things even not on the battlefield into chosen creature type. So the new demonic tutor card that searches for a demon or any card if you have delirium could search for any creature on turn 2 if you have leyline and name demon. Grixis should be the nuts.
On the 4/60 occasion that you have one in your opening hand. And the tutor too. And the deck has to suffer the leylines being bricks every other time.
People always think any half-decent leyline is going to be busted until they face the realities of actually playing with them.

@@kunimitsune177 I mean, people run 4 Voids in their sideboard despite not having any way to produce black mana in other faster, more hostile environments than Standard without an issue. You just have to know when it's important to mulligan aggressively.
@@kunimitsune177 It's not a 4/60 chance. Your starting hand is more than 1 card. You have a 40% chance to see a 4 of in your opening hand in a 60 card deck before mulligans are accounted for.

I would add Floodpits Drowner to this, as flashing it out on 2 to tap down a blocker, then swinging it and ninjutsuing Kaito in seems really unfair.
As Rafiki said, a good story deserves to be told twice. The same is true for a good deck

Just pulled the textured foil Kaito the other day. I am definitely using him in the dimir bloodletter deck. Also marvin is INSANE with Marvin
I got all the way to the reaction to the the needlekin until i realized id seen these games before.
Well Duskmourn is all about horror. Razorhead Needlekin is what spooks blue. Card advantage = pain!
While I am not a momo-red player, my Gruul zoo\burn deck says 'finally!'.
Razorkin Needlehead + any lose half ur HP effect like bloodletter of aclazots or the new grievous wounds would probably go hard in rakdos

Seems like this would be good with an alternate wincon, as you said. Ninja's just don't have the support anymore and if you don't get the leyline in your opening hand, your other creatures just don't seem to scale well enough into the late game.
Maybe keeping only 1 or 2 Kaito and then wrapping it in a better creature package would help? Get him on the field ASAP and protect him with counters, removal and board wipes?
He'll be a good commander in historic brawl though, so many ninja's.

Hi! I have a question. Marvin the mimic copies only activated abilities. So, you mean planeswalkers abilities count as activated ones for marvin?
i'll play marvin, murderous mimic even in vintage format, like he fits land destruction deck well.

I crafted this deck minutes after path drop, had couple of realy nice games with kaito in almost every turn 3-4. Go to sleep, try to play it next day, 80% of games againt mono red that kill me in 3-4 turns with no play agains. Any other deck than mono red and im land crew/flooded plus kaito is nowhere to be seen. I even check deck few times to make sure i didnt remove him from it by accident. MTG Arena at its finest.
I would rather rely on the terrible changelings of bloomburrow than having that leyline in my opening hand, but that's me
That Enchantment Aura is busted! 1W to exile a nonland permanent, and give your creature +1/+0 lifelink and ward 2.... thats a lot for 2 mana.
I think it would make a good esper deck if you place some removal spells
So much recursion with creatures coming back when they die. Guess we'll have to run a lot more exile for removal.

Why does the Spyglass Siren at 6:57 gets a +1/+1 Counter on it? I really dont get it.
It’s because he used the map token and a kaito was revealed resulting in the chosen creature who used map token to get a +1 counter

You can ninjustu one kaito for another copy and activate him twice each turn making him twice as big twice as fast

They have essentially ruined mono red for a few formats forever with these past few sets. Mono red has almost always been about small creatures, burn spells, prowess or haste, and a bit of self exile to play or card draw with requirements. Like yea they had pump spells and other stuff but generally they were a way worse cost off than just burning something out. There was a Thud era but it was like a finisher out of nowhere mid game or so.
Now mono red is free spell, small creatures with death effects, pump spells, and haste pump flyers. The pump spells are ridiculous while the burn spells suck.
It's insane how dumb the designers have gotten. Mono Red plays nothing like Mono Red right now. It's like it wants to be Gruul, and wants to be White. This deck is so dumb it will bleed to every other mono red deck in other formats and become the One Mono Red deck. 5 Years from now kids will look at burn decks and be like "fucking boomers can't win on turn one with my free lameline and the new 1 mana haste prowess when it enters gain two red mana, and gets a +1/+1 counter everytime it's targeted and when you deal damage it doubles its power and can then sacrifice itself to deal damage to any target equal to its power? Ha get good."
This is the deck I wanted let’s see if it works.
We should all just make a concerted effort to play only mono red, if Wizards wants to do this then lets rub their nose in it and play nothing but it

Silent hallcreeper should have been in this deck. Free ninjutsu (unblockable) or if you already have Kaito out, it can become a copy of kaito

Also theres a new 1 mana blue instant that makes a creature unblockable and draws a card.. so enables ninjitsu easily for 1 mana but also could make slasher unblockable to remove half life or mind skinner unblockable to mill cards which would be more with ninja emblems so ninja mill is crazy

No, because shapeshifter as a type doesn't give all creature types. That requires the ability Changeling. If you want examples compare Realmwalker to Metallic Mimic.
(Fun fact: it specifically requires the ability changeling to be printed on the card. Merely giving something changeling does nothing: types apply in layer 4 and abilities in layer 6, so by the time the permanent gains the ability, the types are already settled.)
Unable to scream is an amazing blue common, used it to remove very hard to kill things in my prerelease last night

im not 100% sure that marvin kaito combo actually works. didnt think loyalty abilities would count. i suppose it should work? i guess? but would it get a loyalty counter? really wish we could have seen it in action
If you soul caldron a grist, your guys get his activated ability’s so it works, you just won’t be able to minus loyalty abilities right away as they don’t have loyalty to get rid of
If a permanent that isn't a planeswalker somehow gets loyalty abilities, they just work. But remember that other permanents (usually) don't have loyalty counters, so you're starting from zero loyalty - you can't pay for minus abilities right away.

Technically yes. But Arena needs to be on "full control" to enable that function.

Honestly, I think the worst part of that dumbass card is that it turns their cantrips into 1 mana draw 2/3/4/5. Now if they don't kill you on turn 2 somehow, they have infinite gas.

I don't know if changelings are a thing in. Current standard. But if there are some okey once, you could easily dip more into ninja kindred.
Also this Kaito is just insane for a Yuriko deck or even others that easily deal damage to everybody in EDH.... 0 loyalty surveil 2 draw 3...
In the first game (didn't matter at all since you had nothing to do) you overpaid on the mockingbird copying spyglass siren. Mockingbird cares about the total mana you spent on it, not x.
He did x = 0. The other mana was spent on the map token.
We need a CGB/Malone collab. The matches vs Crokey was good so you know Malone and CGB would be a quality match up

Standard is and has always been about BO1.
Tournaments are about BO3.
The leyline might make red very viable in best of 3. It's not gonna be about the turn 2 kill but more of a red up the beanstalk that tries to keep cards in your hand with might of the Meek and emberheart challengers and ever top decked pump spell pretty much being 2 spells

Red didn't need a way to punish people for drawing cards and sure as hell didn't need that new leyline. Yesterday I saw someone lose on turn 2 to a RG deck due T1 scamp + leyline into T2 double Gaea's might. Swing for 11 dmg, sac for 11 dmg. They were dead with only a single land out on the draw

I don't know why everyone is complaining about mono red. I've found it much less common than everyone says, like 1 in 10 games or rarer. Maybe in mythic it is very common, I don't know. It's annoying but tolerable. Black is by far the most common color. Like 50-70% of games is against some variant of black. Black already has top cards and black cards in Duskmourn appear to be extremely powerful as well, and unlike red, you have a great variety with black.
Pls try mono red agro. I think it might be good with the leyline.
This is still slower than malone's 2 turn win red aggro... Leyline of Transformation should be instabanned on release. Also the Red Leyline should be sent back to R&D it shouldn't ever been printed.

If you need Kaito more often, maybe drop the ley line, adjust your creature base so you're playing mostly ninjas and add cantrips/card selection options.
He's playing standard. There are 4 other ninjas in standard, two of which are legendary and one of which is on the backside of a battle.

He was certainly salty when he went off the deep end about it. Talking about how "I only wanna test new cards! And it's all win-more!" And I was suggesting a new card as a replacement but he just wanted to erupt like a volcano instead. Like, if you're gonna say "let's try new stuff," don't get mad at people for suggesting changes with new cards.
