    Biggest question for me is what is the weight limit? I'm 5'10" 265lbs and really wanting to use my VR for exercise and weight loss. I play Beat Saber a lot and it helps, but more movement would be better.

      The supported user height and weight requirements are 4'4" - 6'4" and max. 250 lbs!

      The katwalk c2 maxes out at 286lbs, but you might be too tall to jump.

    That’s awesome. yeah READY PLAYER ONE, wish that existed, but now it’s becoming a reality putting gaming in a whole new level, very cool. VR makes me kinda sick so i’m very apprehensive to try it out, but it would make me want to try this upgrade since it’s a total body experience, very cool.

    I seriously dont understand why they dont sell it separately from the pico cause at that price is crazy

      Because they are using the Enterprise edition of Pico to lock you out of online play unless you fork over for the $14 a month "Omni Online" subscription. Yep, that's right, you can only play offline single player games with their setup unless you pay a subscription fee, just like the consoles.

      Exactly what I was thinking. I would definitely give it consideration if it weren't tied to the pico and instead just worked normally with SteamVR like the KatWalk.

      Ok here's the big reason. We are not all VR / PC techs. They want ALL people to be able to use this. That means they need something so plug and play it won't turn off even my 70 year old parents who would throw it out the window at the first BSOD (black/blue screen of death). Also, it is pair to pico becuase Pico is the only one that would play ball with Omni. Omni is overwriting Pico's OS with their own. Meta won't let Omni do that, and that's not Omni's fault. To counter it Omni (virtux) is making their OWN EMULATION SOFTWARE for PCVR. Tell me one other company that does that deliberately.

      @@Beldan4 I certainly agree that not everyone is a PCVR technical user... but the majority of people who would buy something like this are. Realistically, 70-year-olds are not their target demographic. Teenagers are more into gaming, but typically don't have the funds to buy something like this unless their parents are rather wealthy. The realistic market for hardware of this nature is VR enthusiasts who also have significant disposable income... and nearly all of those are using PCVR.

    So what about connecting it to a Vive or a Quest and playing escape room games? Would the game act like you were walking around the room, or would it just think you were walking on the spot? If they can get this to work properly with all games, then that would open up the opportunity for everyone who would love to have a VR device but doesn't have the space to create a 12 foot X 12 Foot box to play in, while just staying in one spot. And that would be a huge market.

      I was thinking there are rides where you are strapped to a giant robot arm but think if you could control it with VR.

      I'm confused. Why would you need to simulate gravity? Unless you are using this in orbit, normal gravity still applies.

      It doesn't look much smaller than the KatWalk C. I'm 6' and don't have any size problem with that one.

    I really want one of these things, but have one major problem (with all companies I have checked so far). I am using VR for weight loss, and weigh about 100 pounds more than the 250 pound maximum. Oh well, getting one might be my prize for reaching my goal. 🙂

    One of the main reasons VR is not a thing for the masses is comfort und laziness. People often are too lazy even to setup a quest. And people don't want to stand and move, they just want to sit on the couch or chair and play games. At least the majority out there. So I'd say it's a nice thing for a few enthusiast. The future of VR are very small and light VR glasses and games where you can spend hours in without having to stand. Yes, there's a room for sport/action games where you have to stand and walk but this will only be a thing for maybe 30 minutes and for people who like sports. VR will only be successful if it offers A LOT for all the people out there who sit on the couch and watch Netflix.

      I don't play sports at all and when I do Beat Saber, it's usually for 1-2 hours at a time. For normal, non-exercise-focused VR games, I play as long as I would on a PC unless I'm not feeling well or already really tired or some such thing (in which case I'll just play on a PC instead.)

      There's also people like myself who aren't able to stand. If they did versions of this that were big enough to fit a small wheelchair and accommodated pushing it forward or backwards just it would footsteps then I'd definitely get it.

      @@MarkSweeney2814 KatWalk C2 has an optional seat on it. It wouldn't accommodate a wheelchair, though. That would be pretty difficult to engineer, especially for very low volume (VR treadmill volume is already very low for such a complex product.)

      @@vbscript2 Well there are wheelchair treadmills out there cause I used to use one to build stamina for racing so could maybe base it off of that. No clue but to be fair I'm impressed it's at this stage so it is an exciting product for people who are eligible. I'll just stick to play stationary but still would be nice.

    Here's what I'm imagining:
    It is a 2-2-2 mt^3 sized cubical VR Simulation Room. It can be fitted and built into any room in your house a long as the room has the required area and outlet/connections setup. 2/2/2 is the default/minimum size, but custom orders can be prepared for larger rooms like lofts.
    The VRSR has a spherical room inside, which you enter to play games. Its entire surface area is screens to provide a completely realistic VR experience. Screens are covered with bulletproof glass to protect against impacts such as stomps, punches, kicks, dropping your weapons (controllers), or falls. The sphere has a gravity control feature to enable a stable standing ground, and sits on a circle of marbles to provide a complete 360*360 mobility. The sphere has sensors all around that detects your body angles in order to tell which direction you want to move, so it moves the marbles and the sphere accordingly.
    You would be wearing a special body suit inside the sphere. It is not mandatory, but strictly recommended for the full realistic experience. This body suit has sensors everywhere that detects your slightest moves. So it can fully simulate your even most subtle movements like shaking your arm, dodging a projectile, kicking a piece of rock, etc etc. This body suit can also simulate falls. If you are walking on a tight ledge and take misstep or trip up on something, the marbles move the sphere under you rapidly to simulate fall. Furthermore, a reverse polarity feature through magnets will levitate you to simulate free fall when you are falling from higher places like the top of the building or a plane. The magnets are also used to simulate weightlifting. For example if you grab something off the ground, the magnets will activate to pull you downward, making it harder for you to stand up. The more weight you try to lift, the magnets will activate with more powers. If you're trying to lift a huge rock, the magnets will work at full power and won't let you stand up, unless "you" are actually strong enough to stand up with such weight.
    The fibers on your suit along with magnets and marbles will work in unison to simulate impacts you take. For example if you are hit in the stomach, the fibers of the suit will cramp on the impact point to flinch you at the correct angle and the sphere movement will force you to move backwards and/or fall. Optional mini electrical shocks can indicate you the impact point so you can tell from where the attack came.

    I don't think the technology to do this doesn't exist. But I suppose it's a matter of affordability and practicality. I don't think an average gamer can afford such gaming setup, and the size requirements means you basically give up an entire room for just this device. The weight of the device can provide security concerns, and the power consumption may short the entire block. I mean yes, there are kinks and this is just an idea that's floating in my head since middle school, but I don't think a competent R&D team cannot perfect it and make it more practical and somewhat more affordable.
    Whether or not achievable realistically, I always think this is an extremely cool VR gaming concept.

      At least judging from the KatWalk C, it isn't really. When standing, you're on the flat part in the middle. The other parts are curved to roughly match where your feet should be at the corresponding part of a step.
      The ability to move this looks much nicer than the KatWalk C, but tying it to a Pico Pro is disappointing. I'd much rather it be sold without the extra $900 VR setup and just made compatible with SteamVR.

      Yes walk on the carpet you can already do that...problem is when you hit a wall....or do you mean a magic frictionless carpet..yeah we call that an omnidirectional treadmill.

      Exactly. This seems like a huge limitation for an otherwise-interesting product. Subtract the Pico and its price tag and make it compatible with SteamVR and I might be interested.
      On one hand, I can see not wanting to require a PC for it, but, on the other, the people who are going to drop this kind of money on VR hardware have a nice PC already.
