Glad to see you're doing a fully planted tank with soil. I look forward to seeing how it evolves. If it was me, I'd do red shrimp with blue guppies or blue shrimp with red guppies. I just think that stark contrast in colors would make for a more eye catching tank, but that's just my opinion.
Dear Gabriel: You have no “pleco.” You have a Chinese algae eater (Gyrinocheilus aymonieri) and an ancistrus (Hypostomus cirrhosus). Although often sold as fry and sub-adults, in the hobby, a plecostomus (Hypostomus plecostomus) grows too large, to be kept, in an aquarium, as an adult. I apologize, for failing to view this video, earlier. As I missed it, I didn’t know what you used, as fertilizer, until now. I find it useful, to pile coal slag, within the visible perimeter, of a tank, before adding compost, in the center. Then I cover the compost, with coal slag. That way, you don’t see any compost, in the completed set-up. I hope you have good success with “dirted” tanks. All my best, Sincerely, E. J. Brinegar
Dear Gabriel: Please be advised, that the Chinese algae eater (Gyrinocheilus aymonieri) has been known to suck, on the slime coat of docile species (especially goldfish (Carassius auratus)). Jeff Pelham says that they hold their own, with cichlids and do not trouble them. Thank you. Sincerely, Brinegar
Awesome Gabriel, have fun with it. After they are all balanced out dirted tanks are wonderful 😁
I’m sure hoping so 😛
Very cool I need to start some planted aquariums. I've got one but just about all the plants are gone. .
Ya it’s new to me, wish me success.

I will take that into consideration for sure. Thanks for the suggestion.
@GCaquatics sure thing. Ultimately it's your tank and your choices, and you need to be happy with whatever you decide 😊
Agreed but sometimes a good idea is a good idea 😁
@GCaquatics lol...I'd agree 👍
Ahh haa your going with a dirted to tank also. I wish you the best.
Ya i gotta try it, think it will be good to grow out some plants with some guppies. lets see how it goes. Thanks for stopping by.
