Landon your work always gives me the chills! You truly have a gift from God 😮💨🙏. I love that even a simple vlog or behind the scenes video is anything but simple. Your work is intricate and it shows! Thank you for your teachings!
Ayyyye thanks for the shout out, Landon! It was awesome to finally meet you and Bryson @thegrizz__ So glad I could help you jerry rig the Avata mount with my power drill! :) Thanks for the Pip's donuts. Loving the content you guys are cranking out from your Oregon trip!
Great video!! So inspiring ❤🔥 For the part where the subject exits the hut with the keys in hand, did you recreate the sound afterward? It’s incredibly crisp and clear. If not, which microphone did you use? Thanks a lot for sharing this and keep up the incredible work!
On the iphone 16 pro max I would have liked to see how Apple could have integrate rotating dials like on the apple watch. I know people would have said this look odd, goofy, etc. But the usefulness would be night and day once you get to using it. People right now are comparing the sliding dedicated camera button to the rotating dials on a DSLR. A rotating dial is so much more freeing to use. For viewer that have the apple watch just rotate the dial on the AWatch and see how easy it is to use than the current sliding push button thing currently implemented on the iPhone 16 Pro max.
Great job! One question though-how do you monitor your exposure in Blackmagic when using the ND filter? Since you’ve locked the shutter at 180 degrees, are you relying solely on the histogram, or are you also using a technical LUT? I’m asking because there are plenty of arguments online about 1600 ISO offering more dynamic range, and that you should always overexpose log files.
Also I still think a 3rd party manufacture could make an iPhone case with manual controls. I have a gimble with manual controls and it works find, no lag that I can tell.
Nice video. 🔥 Little confusing about footage on FX3 and iPhone 15 pro max when you are mixing them in the beginning. Some might think the FX3 shot was iPhone shot. 🤷♂️
Video looks amazing. I’m not iPhone user but if you can create same type of video with s24 ultra that would be great to see to compare both phones cameras…
“It’s more challenging to achieve this since it lacks a log format like Apple Log. With Apple Log, it’s easier to color grade footage from both the iPhone and Sony Log in the same timeline, and it provides more dynamic range to work with
Super fun ad for the Lexar SSD’s. The technology we have is getting so good. Everything came out looking great. All my favorite places in my second home, Oregon. Had me wondering when you connected it to the FX3 though. What was that? 🤔
Yeah! We are very spoiled with amazing cameras and ways to capture things. The Lexar being plugged in was just to visualize the fact that you can use SSD's with certain Monitors to record to. We didn't have a Ninja at the time but the Ninja v is a great one.
"only" with an Iphone... Thats not true. With an Iphone, with a RONIN, with an Avata 2. I understand what you want to say but iphone doesn't have that stabilization for example, you have to complement it. But... congratz for the video, its amazing! Love the colors/edit. Cheers
Also hold your iphone up in landscape mode like you are taking ac pic or view and pretend you are rotating a dial instead of a slider. i tried it and much easier. Apple could have put at least 2 dials side by side.
Amazing!!! Can I ask how you used the music please? You have to ask for license, to pay, simply mention the musicians or other things? Thanks in advance.
Hello dear content creator! I’m really glad to see that you enjoy creating videos to promote innovative products, and I appreciate your enthusiasm for all of it. However, I must admit that the constant use of the term "cinematic" is starting to wear on me. Unfortunately, I feel compelled to remind you that cinema is an art that involves storytelling, scripts, a technical team, and much more. Overusing the term to describe any video with a color grading profile that’s being overused on platforms like Instagram, etc., isn’t really appropriate. As a content creator myself, and not a cinematographer, I believe I’m in a position to offer this critique. Please consider using more accurate terms for your future videos, like "aesthetically colorful video" or "promotional video for a brand sponsorship," rather than "cinematic." Thank you for taking my feedback into account for your upcoming projects!
You’re right. In order to record to an SSD you need to use something like a Ninja V. This was just to visualize! We didn’t have a ninja with us at the time!
@@fulltimefilmmaker No worries! But this Lexard SL500 is a USB-C type SSD and SATA type SSD is the one compatible with Ninja V. That's why I'm confused hahaha. Thanks Landon! 👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽
"The first one which is about 10 minutes long is (chuckles) 53,7 gigabytes" So? It's ProRes. You can get a 2TB SSD which would handle 6 hours at this rate. It's way more and way cheaper storage than you could (until very recently) fit on an pro SD or CF card, even with regular compressed formats. And you can even get a 4TB SSD that's smalle enough to fit on the back of the iPhone.
@9:54 the key question is even though the iPhone and SSD are water resistant, what about the USB-C cable? Does that have a rating or did you guys just send it and hope all was well? Corrupted footage is the worst, so I'm curious.
@@fulltimefilmmaker I Have the RS 4 Pro Combo (As you Recomended. It's my first gimbal and it's amazing!) and a ZV-E10 (Works amazing!) and I don't think i'll be shooting in the rain any time soon! haha -Lorenzo
I try more than 5 different ssd's and all where fantastic the only problem to all of them was the loose connector of iphone 15 pro how you solve the problem because many people have the same issue
I know iphones are great in videos. But why do you guys never use android phones which also have these capabilities . Like OnePlus 12, s24 ultra, Xiaomi 14 ultra etc
It’s because Apple allows, starting from the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, recording in a ‘raw’ format called Apple Log. This type of video file bypasses much of the post-processing that the iPhone typically applies when shooting with the stock app. You can also use third-party apps to manually control camera settings. The Apple Log file offers more flexibility in post-processing, allowing you to recover details from shadows and highlights. The workflow is similar to shooting with a cinema camera, though not with the same sensor quality.

to be honest I still miss Parker but fu.k.. this video give me the inspiration to shoot new videos here in malta!! Big Hug Landon

fantastic video! what type of accessory did you use to keep the ssd attached to the iphone when the smallrig cage was mounted?
For this we used a velcro magsafe attachment! But there are tons of options now that pocket filmmaking is becoming more mainstream!
