The Beetles riff on the Jackson reminds of the music video of Moonlight Shadow, the dude is strumming away cowboy chords on a pitch black Jackson V lol
That ormsby is the first one with extremely good camera quality that made their line up grab my attention enough that I’d consider Lord willing buying one.
Euro to USD prices -Charvel is $1800 , Suhr is $4154.81 , Jackson Rhoads is $1060.28 , Vox is $957.98 , Suhr Tele is $5859.79 , Fret King Tele is $744.86 , Ormsby is 1971.38 , Gibson SG is $2344.34 , Fender Tele is $1545.08 , Yamaha 7 string is $853.07
In the entire landscape of youtube guitar content, you and Glenn shopping for guitars is some of the most fun. I think you should make it a regular series! And have Glenn on the channel as much as possible in general 😁
I'd love for future videos to show the price proper as opposed to hopefully seeing a shot with the tag in it. Not all had the prices visible. Just a thought and something I'd sure love to see. Apart from that, wish you two would do more videos like this. Very fun to watch. PS.....I really liked the neck.
I don't see where the 3899 price tag comes from. It just looks like a beat up superstrat copy...at that point, why not get an American ultra and bang it up yourself?
You simply can't know how good you have it. In my last 20 trips to my local California Guitar Center, I have not gotten as much help as you did on just one guitar there. Man, I miss that. Well done to the awesome store (tell them please) and you guys are always a blast!
That guy is exactly the sort of salesmen you want. No bullshit, no flannel, huge knowledge and a fellow player/enthusiast. A totally different experience from the people who sell cars, computers and such-like where they're just after commission and would sell you a jar of tap water if it meant getting a sale. He never once tried to push anything on you. This reminded me of when I was your age and I'd be seduced by exact same guitars as you guys while playing the exact same riffs lol. I've mellowed over time and my tastes are far more conservative these days as is my playing style. I've gone from humbuckers and distortion to single coils and clean channels. That's the beauty of guitars. You can swim in different waters.
That's a Vox SSC-55, the higher grade version of their Solid Single Cut guitars. It has one of the tumblers controlling the pickup split (between full humbucker, rails, and a P-90) and another tumbler controls a treble boost or something like that. I have a double cut version, SDC-33, no split controls, but it's a very fine guitar, especially if you can find it cheap.
I have a Strat 7 (the HH version) and it’s definitely quirky as it looks. They only made them for a couple years iirc. Got inspired by Chris Garza’s custom shop Strat 7’s and got it coincidentally while browsing a small shop like what you guys did. You can definitely find some unexpected things esp in the used section of a shop. Great vid, guys!
That Suhr Asato is great. Ordered one last year in Canada, and it finally shows it's in the warehouse. I've been to Dublin twice in that time and could have just bought it from Everest FFS.
You two are always funny, interesting, and smart. Such a good time. My granpa’s village is an hour West of Belfast. I’d only vacation there and Scotland. All the best!
The red Fret King is like a schizophrenic Tele , the pickguard looks a bit pretarded , the black Suhr Tele twas a monster of a guitar , beautiful and so cheap and affordable !! Haw !! Thanks chumlys !
Not playing that Suhr Thornley was a mistake. Seriously, that guitar is an absolute monster. Don’t be hesitant because of the neck size, it’s incredibly fast, very comfortable, and the Aldrich pickups have a lot of output.
That vox sounded good, like a hotrodded telecaster, a rock machine, it sounds like a guitar that the hives would play. I'm a metal head I would have gone for the vox, or that signature charvel (without the relic..)
One of my first guitars was a 67 Melody Maker with Super Distortions (that's the way I bought it back in the 80's for $100). I always thought the 69 had the larger headstock.
Re the Fret King: one of those controls is likely a variable resistor placed in parallel between the coils of the pickup that allows you to roll off the low end and make the pickups sound more like single coils.
One of my local guitar shops stocks the Fret King brand, I'd never heard of it before seeing on the shop's website so wanted to check them out in the store but turns out they only sell them on their website not in the shop (they sell pretty much exclusively second hand in the shop, but the Fret King stuff is new apparently...why that means they need to be online only I have no idea). I can remember reading about their variable single coil feature on the brand's site. It was described as gradually removing more of one coil until you get a full coil split. Does that fit with your explanation of how it works? Sounds like an interesting idea, may try it as a mod in the future...
I have a blue Squier 7-string "Stagemaster" with a 7-string locking trem. It's pretty interesting - strat like body with two humbuckers and no pickguard. Now, Fender DID make an 8-string strat for Norwegian guitar player Terje Rypdal.
Just had to look up that 8 string Strat...it is exactly as promised. Can't tell if it has a trem from the picture I've seen though...that would be cool, an 8 string Fender vintage trem. LTD have a Javier Reyes 8 string Strat with a Floyd Rose which is one of the 2 models on the shortlist for when I'm ready to get my first 8 string. Kinda pricey for an LTD though. Also an 8 string Floyd will be a hassle to deal with I imagine. I did have an HSS Ibanez 7 string (model AZ24047) with a Gotoh 510 vintage trem until recently. The single coils sound awesome in those low tunings. Replaced it for something sleeker with the same trem but the single coils were so nice to use I'm tempted to get a Vola in the future as they do some similar setups.
You should have bought Glenn that Melody Maker, I was very disappointed that didn't happen at the end. With the condition he plays and treats it the same as any Burns...
Those Suhr single coils sound absolutely incredible. I played a similar model in my local shop as they are one of the few UK Suhr dealers, the Standard Plus I think it was. Definitely the best sounding single coils I'd ever played and the joint nicest I've ever heard if you include UA-cam demos (I think Schecter's Dark Side singles are on par). Definitely appreciated the shop letting me try it even though I told them up front it wasn't in my budget but was just interested to see if Suhrs play as well as everyone says. I think the black one played here was one of the Classic models or something like that. Neck would probably be too thick for my liking...the Standard Plus neck was definitely comfy but I wouldn't have liked any bigger. I believe the original Pete Thorne sig has the same medium-thin neck shape but the new Thorne HSS version has gone for a classic thick neck. Of course you can go for a thinner neck with a custom order but gets very expensive, and like that tech said, they have long waits. My shop said any Thorne models that come in get sold before they can even put them on display and it's a 1 - 2 year wait to order them. What's the song Glen plays on the Charvel at 02:10 btw? Have heard it a million times but can't remember the actual song name!
I did a diy tele build with paulownia for the body. Its mt fav guitar its so light. I would love an LP style in paulownia. It would be w mindf**k to have an LP shape so light
Ormsby are the best. I'm now up to my 4th Ormsby(ordered, I have 2 currently in possession, waiting for the other 2), I got my first one only after NAMM
This is Glenn’s world and we’re just living in it.
SO REAL
We love Glenn here
Glenn got the rizz.
I’m contempt that, Glenn 👍
Really enjoyed this, thank you! You guys have a great friendship, be grateful!
The Beetles riff on the Jackson reminds of the music video of Moonlight Shadow, the dude is strumming away cowboy chords on a pitch black Jackson V lol
I had a Washburn flying V with active EMGs. It was beautiful playing clean stuff. So incongruent.
Too fun. I always like to see Glenn popping in.
I grew up in the 80s and early 90s. Watching you guys try guitars, and the stuff you are playing….it’s like a flashback to my youth…
Amazing to get Peter Criss back on the show!!
Good video and playing, plus the shop has a fantastic assortment of different guitars to try which is great!
😊
I don’t know what I love more, Glen popping off the “Native Tongue” riffs or showing Kermit some love.
50 minutes? It must be Christmas.
My dad had a Vox guitar he loved...must have been early - mid 70's. Thanks for the memories.
Thanx for the tour guys, I enjoyed it. And btw, you two fahkers are hilarious. Keep rock'n young bro's.
The weirdo Yamaha looks like an old 1950's hot rod with the chopped roof ...Thanks again guys , love yer videos !
Glenn playin rainbow connection made me smile sooo fuggin hard. I love Glenn. Cool dude.
How fascinating.
Glen’s taste in guitars is right up my alley. It’s good the see younger people appreciate the classics.
That first Charvel is the Henrik Danhage Signature from Evergrey. I love it to bits
If you pay £1000 less they'll sell you an identical one that's been painted...
You have no idea how excited I got when he pulled out the flying banana.
Always regretted not checking out the reissues from the 2000s
Rainbow. Connection. 10/10

Don't laugh, Dave Davies used to play his Korina V like that! 😂
We don’t even know that playing like that isn’t what Gibson intended back in the day.
I laugh really hard at that and with Glenn playing Beatles on the Jackson camo 🤣
In the entire landscape of youtube guitar content, you and Glenn shopping for guitars is some of the most fun. I think you should make it a regular series! And have Glenn on the channel as much as possible in general 😁

Fair play to Everest Music! Great guys good amount of stock! 👌
You guys work well together, keep rocking!!
Sweet vid, guys, Thanks! I laziliy learned a couple riffs too!
0:45 I've had my eye on that Charvel for a while! So Cool!
Great video, great playing and that paisley Tele was bloody lovely.
You simply can't know how good you have it. In my last 20 trips to my local California Guitar Center, I have not gotten as much help as you did on just one guitar there. Man, I miss that. Well done to the awesome store (tell them please) and you guys are always a blast!
That version of Johnny b good was rocking 🫡
Glenn playing rainbow connection finally, after all this time, confirmed for a fact that he is the best.
Nice shoutout to Poison and Richie Kotzen. Super underrated song!
I've got a Paisley Esquire and I love it. This was such an enjoyable video to watch, thank you!
Love the content around Vox, Fret King, Ormsby and Bacchus. Those are brands that are extremly rare in North America.
Just realized that Glen can play guitar damn well: love you guys!!
Hello, From the United States of America aka USA. I enjoy this video. Thanks for sharing & Rock On 🎸🎶🎶🎶
I went in to this shop a month or so ago, some gorgeous guitars, the guys in there are proper helpful
That guy is exactly the sort of salesmen you want. No bullshit, no flannel, huge knowledge and a fellow player/enthusiast. That SG is gorgeous.
Woah, you got the guy from PMT to cohost, nice!
LOL Dagan, that you!?
Irish Short Dagan
Yes! I love the guitar shopping vids.
That Charvel is stunning
Yeh that was cool. Thanks for the vid! I like the ormsby dahlia black

I didn't know Glenn could shred 🤘
He's a bit of an enigma, a lot of videos he's in he doesn't play that much and here's he's going off and showing you he's a scary player
Great vid Gents
👍
What a great store. Wish my local had that selection
I have a Strat 7 (the HH version) and it’s definitely quirky as it looks. They only made them for a couple years iirc. I have that Jackson RR24 but in snow camo. One of my favorite guitars I own.
I have yet to try a newer jackson/charvel and i would love to soon, since my 94 rhoads and my 86 model 4, feel like gold!
That Suhr Asato is great. Ordered one last year in Canada, and it finally shows it's in the warehouse. I've been to Dublin twice in that time and could have just bought it from Everest FFS.
1969 SG Melody Maker… Cool sound. It’s almost microphonic; very lively.
I love the cheeky J5 in there, Glenn.
Suss when the sirs can't be trusted! Had me belly laughing! Great vlog KDH 😂😂😂😂
You two are always funny, interesting, and smart. Such a good time. My granpa’s village is an hour West of Belfast. I’d only vacation there and Scotland. All the best!
The Henrik was hands down the best. I have the Guthrie Ash Charvel and I love love it. Fender is crushing it with quality and the Charvel guitars.
The red Fret King is like a schizophrenic Tele , the pickguard looks a bit pretarded , the black Suhr Tele twas a monster of a guitar , beautiful and so cheap and affordable !! Haw !! Thanks chumlys !
Thanks for featuring that Asato tele. I got that bridge pup to mod a classic vibe into an esquire. Now I know I made the right choice.
Great video guys 🎶🎵🎸🍺
Suhr is just a step above everything else. Not even Gibson or Fender can hold a candle to those guitars.
I love the Charvel.
(And the Engl Combo)
Not playing that Suhr Thornley was a mistake. Seriously, that guitar is an absolute monster. Don’t be hesitant because of the neck size, it’s incredibly fast, very comfortable, and the Aldrich pickups have a lot of output.
Love when Glen is on the channel. I would subscrimble more if I could lol.
Nice playing guys.
hes got some real nice stuff in there

Loved that Vox
Playing some Native Tongue era Poison. Hell yeah.
You guys are awesome!
The final Boss of Relic,it's a beautiful guitar but jezz that relic was ridiculous.
My local guitar shop. I'm going to go down and visit that 7 string Squire.
Glenn is my spirit animal.
I have a blue Squier 7-string "Stagemaster" with a 7-string locking trem. It's pretty interesting - strat like body with two humbuckers and no pickguard. Now, Fender DID make an 8-string strat for Norwegian guitar player Terje Rypdal.

@@dreammachine86 I was actually kind of surprised that the seventh string floyd comes across as more stable than the six string version.
The legend himself! Glen!
Ugh that Melody Maker is one of my dream guitars.
I had a laugh when he started talking about the finish right away on that beaten up Charvel.
You should have bought Glenn that Melody Maker, I was very disappointed that didn't happen at the end. With the condition he plays and treats it the same as any Burns...
Jeff Becks' GUITAR SHOP
Great album!!!
Great playing as always
I would've bought that ESP in a heartbeat. So hard to find old Mirages in the wild.
43:16 Playing the forbidden riff incorrectly surely got you kicked out lol
Those Suhr single coils sound absolutely incredible. I played a similar model in my local shop as they are one of the few UK Suhr dealers, the Standard Plus I think it was. Hey man I’ve been watching you since I started guitar back in 2021 still glad you have that amazeing hair still🤫🧏🏿♂️

Glens a classic.
I piss myself laughing when his on the show.lol
And it's in the EU, so no import issues.
Thank you Ireland for being independant from GB
okay was that lon lon ranch glenn played on that banjo at 5:35
That first Charvel has a vibe, needs to be played.
Came for the guitars, stayed for Glenn playing the banjo
Dang I’m totally not a Charvele guy and I have enough strata but dang I love that white releced guitar.
Glenn saying "Where are any of those letters?"
My thoughts every time I hear some traditional Irish name...
wanna get my hands on a Suhr Tele, plays like a dream
Glenn is so damn funny! 😂😂😂😂
Love Glenn he needs his own channel
He said it had TREE pickups :) Hahahahaha
I had one of those 7 string Squier strats. Same thing, same color, everything. Sadly it was stolen a few years ago.
Blew my mind when I saw the great Kenny Vaughn bought a Brad Paisley off the wall. I figured players like that were all vintage or custom built
