Thanks for sharing. I purchased the frames with the Verbero boots which I am not satisfied with. Eventually I'll have to switch. Your video is very useful 👍
@@bsharpottawa Marsblade probably received negative feedback with respect to the Verbero boot, because they switched to an Alkali boot: www.marsblade.com/store/r1-chassis-with-boot
I appreciate the effort to make this video. I am curious as to why they left out the single most important component: the inserts that make a Marsblade a Marsblade. There are four different ones so you can customize your skating experience. I have been able to find nothing online, including this 14 minute installation instruction video, that even mentions these critical components, let alone tells you how to put them in and take them out. Like this video, all the others I have been able to find say "Install the base then throw on the wheels". But what about the part that makes it a Marsblade.
These are not the R1, these are the 01. The 01 Marsblade rocks back and forth, and is designed for off ice training. The R1, which includes the 4 different profiles is designed for league play. What makes a Marsblade the Marsblade is the rocker motion, the 4 profile templates don't change that, they just change the curve that the wheels hit the ground.
@@bsharpottawa Hey thanks for the clarification! You just gave me more clarity about the marsblade in one tiny paragraph than the company gave me on its entire web site! Along the same lines, I have read how they describe the difference between each of the four rockers and I have no clue what they are talking about. I guess it is inside lingo elite roller hockey players use but I have been playing hockey, including roller hockey, for about 55 years and I can't understand their descriptions...or why the have such goofy alfa-numeric names for each one (it sounds like they are being too clever by half). I think they range from long (radius) and steady to short and twitchy. Am I wrong on that too? Once again, thanks for the clarity if your explanation!
@@ianchamandy1427 so the number is the radius, like a profile. So the H means the heel, the T means the toe. The H8-T8 means you have an 8 foot radius(think big circle with your 4 roller wheels on the bottom of it) on both the Toe and Heel or just 8' in general. The H8-T15 means you have an 8' radius on the heel and a very flat 15' radius on the toe of the skate. On this profile you'd be turning quickly on your heels, but not on your toes, you'd have a ton of wheel contact of front. Our friends at the Sharp Shack have a great video about how to change these out in the mean time while we wait for our R1's to come in this year. Once we have them we can do a video for you. If I purchased the r1 model that comes with the 4 custom insert rockers how would you adjust this? Would I have to come into your shop to make this change? Also, what is the fee for adding all this to your previously own boot?
L B I have requested the information about the changing of their rocker inserts. I haven't had a pair of the new R1 in my shop just yet, so I will get back to you. Please email info@bsharpottawa.com and we can chat. As to install, we charge $50 to install Marsblades to whatever boot you have.
How many rivets did you put on the skates, because I just got mine done at sportchek and they put a total of 11 rivets between both boots which seems very concerning to me. I know there is 15 holes between each so should they all have been used up?
The only holes I do not generally use during install are the center heel holes. I do use these holes depending on size of the person, on Large holders. They should have used all of the rivet holes.
Hi, thanks for the video! Is possible to put back ice hockey blade chassis after summer roller season? I understand that technically it is possible, but how those additional holes impact boot durability?
Because you're putting the rivets back into the original holes, you're not creating any weak spots to effect the boot integrity. One set for Marsblades and the other for the Ice holders.
@@Latvijasfans you're not making new holes every time you swap the holders. The additional holes(if drilled properly) don't effect the integrity of the skate, or else the skates have a problem. 2 sets of holes won't hurt anything
@@bsharpottawa But my store has problem with it. I made more washers from mothers. But they can't install it - told me too little space for mounting on heels on O1 chassis size S.

The Verbero boot is not a high end skate to be sure. I'm glad the video will help you out😊

If you drill in holes will it affect your skates?
Only if you still them numerous times without properly filling the soles or if you still them improperly

How many washers come with it?
Between 4 and 10 depending on when they were packaged. At the height of Covid there was a shortage so just 4.
