oH! Use a toothpick out of plastic. Better than metal, that can do damage
This is actually a really good idea! I am going to pin this comment so that others will see it.
Same here, and to prevent short circuits.
There is always a current on the usb port.
@@pvtaitchison the tooth pick just breaks and crumbles. I think the paper clip is stronger
@@mebeasensei now there's a guy who's advocating for putting splinters and termites into his cellphone
I use the plastic part of a cotton swab cut in half and at an angle.
Thanks Luke. My Galaxy S4 made it five years without this issue, so my pockets must be cleaner than yours! Oh, and as Steve Nilsen also noted, using something other than metal is probably safer.
OMG, after I purchased portable wireless chargers and this absolutely did the trick. I visited a repair place and they quoted me over $100.00. Thank you so very much.
Glad it helped
yeah but what if the problem isn't the dirt inside, but the charging port itself? what do i do
I don't like seeing metal used for things like this where metal live (?) contacts are around.
As a first go, try the end of one of those disposable dental flossers, a lot of people have them. I've a y shaped one and the other end of it has sort of thin
end covered in teeth that is literally designed for getting stuff out of a thin gap. Some might be a bit too flimsy but some will work.
Assuming it's lint and not your jack wearing out in just 7 months. My jack was clean as a whistle when I used a tooth pick.
Use a wooden toothpick or a plastic instrument to clean it out. Metal will damage the port and may render it worse than before even if it’s clean
Give this man a medal!
No take the metal away.
DO NOT use medal you will destroy the phone.
Sadly, I didn't see this comment. My charging port went from working sometimes, now thanks to the medal paperclip I stuck in there, I now have a completely BROKEN charging port 🙄
No you won't, you're just being too mellow dramatic and have some issues to work out with your personal affairs. I used to eat more waffles than I do these days.
I blame the capitalistic phone designers for making these charging ports decay so quickly.
Metal*
Planned obsolescence. Google it. @@abstraction6212
the charger jack becomes loose over time if you have it plugged in while you use the phone then it becomes intermittent and eventally wont charge, you can either use another charger cable or you can compress the underside of the jack making it fit tighter on the phones charger jack input, over time the charger jack input wears thinner and no charger cable jack will connect properlly , and youll have a nighmare trying to charge your phone it will say its charging but its actually losing power and will drain to 0 , compressing the charger cable jack will work for a while until it doesn't then if you compress the charger jack further it will eventually wreck the metal pins on the phones usb charger jack and the phone will never charge up again rendering it inoperable, sad days
Same happened to me, the lightning cable didn’t in go in all the way and only charges in a special position until I took out all the lint from the port.
that an obvious issue shouldnt need to watch a video to learn that
OMG! You sir are a life saver literally. Thanks from off the grid in west Texas. A resistor tip and safety pin did the trick. I couldn't see the crud either, but after cleaning I could see the back should be silver not black.
I just used a steel dental pick on a phone I found. I was able to get in cleaned out so that the dead phone would charge. I contacted a number which was on the phone (owners Dad) and he is going to advise his son I have phone. Thanks for the video. I would never have tried this if I had not seen video.
Mine has no dirt I clean it then the charger loose and the charger won't work
Does this work on a broken phone
I just tried it for my MP3 player and although no dirt came out it still did the trick, thank you.
But are most charging ports designed to be wiggled?
Truee it does work
I’ve done it before!
Thank you so much for this information, let me try
Thank you very much. I was in complete disbelief while watching but this DID indeed correct my problem. I used a thumbtack
Glad it helped
Thanks man
Thank you sooo much! My vape was doing the same thing as your phone so I tried your cleaning method and it worked! 😃❤
Thank you. I was going to take my phone to be repaired. I used a dental pick - now my phone works like new. 🎉
Glad it was helpful
What happens If u scratch the thing in the middle?
You could cause an electronical short. It probably won't cause any mager damage to your phone but it's best not to find out
Cool.. Didnt know this hack. This is useful 👍
Thank you used a pin to clean it and working great
I wish i had seen this video sooner
Glad it was helpful
Ohhhhh Myyyy Goooooodddddddd Thank You so so soooooo much it work thank you very much not even words can thank you🥺❤️
Glad it helped 👍
@@LukeEdwin 😊
You can also buy a case with a charging port cover. Or use it as an excuse to get a new phone🤣🤣🤣🤣
It worked!! Thank you!!
Glad it helped!
Thank you for this. It saved me $$$. I was planning on buying a new phone since mine is old but my cheap @$$ hates spending when I don't have too.
Glad it was helpful
Have paper blocked in it what do i do?
I completely cleaned it out. I even removed the cover and sprayed it with contact cleaner, to no avail. What would be my next move??
Thank I soo much I just did it right now and it worked thanksss😊😊😊😊😊
Will it help get all of the dirt out of charging port
That’s the idea. Make sure to use something plastic so it doesn’t short circuit the plug.
Thanks I'ma try that tomorrow it is charging but my tip of the charger is barley in the now I know that is the problem ty!! U deserve a subscribe
Thanks. Worked like a charm ( I used a safety pin)
I clean my port but this morning in the truck my phone say slowly charging
Will My House Explode If I Try This 😂😂
What a hero, im going to follow his previous vids
You're not worried about a short circuit using a paperclip? I cleaned out my 5-10 vape pen with a paperclip, accidentally pushed the button, and that was it for my vape pen. I would think something similarly dangerous would be the case with a phone.
As I mentioned in the video, you need to be really careful not to touch the electrical contacts, but in hindsight, I should’ve just told people to use a plastic toothpick or something
Good
Nice but doesn't fix loose port problem.
WoW!!!! I purchased a new phone and apparently, I didnt have to!
YOOO i thought my phone was broken thank you!!
glad it was helpful for you!
Tysm it works i thought my phone port eas broken 😅
But the wrid thing is it was not that much lint it but atleast it works 😅
Glad it helped
use tooth pick
I like flossing too
it actually workedd
thank you so much, now i've destroyed my phone 👍
Paper clips must be cheap in your country.
🤣
0:41 really 😗
There was no lint in my port. Now what?
Check that thing in the dryer. There's usually a bunch in that thing. If not - wash some clothes and MAKE some. If you have no dirty clothes, then go roll around in the dirt or something. You should be paying me for this advice
