Tyler has revived a part of my love for music that was once reserved for Hardcore and Metal. he emits a real sense of sincere emotion that i've yet to feel from another artist.
Man my favorite lyric is when he says, “I love you like the mountains loves the way the morning opens to a soft and bright greeting from the sun.” I can just relate that to waking up next to my wife!! Great stuff Burt!
@@SongwriterReacts it’s really not. Like you always say on live stream we are so lucky to be able to witness the greatness of all these young amazing artists as they grow and get better!!
Tyler wrote this song as a teenager which makes it even more impressive. Great reaction as always. I’d suggest Purgatory, rock salt and nails or country squire. All songs from different albums but all great in their own way.
This is the video/song that instantly made me a huge fan of Tyler, I'm so psyched you got to it! My favorite part is the line about his Mustang that ran on high hopes until they raised the price of dreams so high he couldn't pay... just beautiful. Keep up the good work man!
@@SongwriterReacts Yeah, Tyler is a PHENOMENAL songwriter! I completely agree with what you've said numerous times about him (and a few deserving others like B. Tod), in how you think we're watching the rise of one of the greatest there will ever be and how special it is to be here in this time to experience it. We are so lucky!
I heard this song playing at a wedding when everyone was getting seated. It haunted me. It reminded me of the strong use of the Queen’s English in the tv show Justified. I wondered, being born and raised in Texas if they really spoke like that in Kentucky. The stereo type of mountain people being less educated. This song made me shoot a snot bubble out my nose on I10 and BarkerCypress. Beautiful writing, imagery and he has an Appalachian howl to his vocals. Beautiful song. The first verse is such a compliment. He’s saying she is loud and make him feel full and complete. The second verse is speaking of a warm and familiar friendship he has with her and she is eye squintingly brilliant, radiant and he’s the quiet strong mountain. The 3rd verse starts with the feeling of elation to have a dream and start towards it only to have life beat you down. Followed by the since of regret for lost time together and woulda shoulda coulda why didn’t I regret. Knowing in the moment you just couldn’t but you should have tried harder, and the desperation that causes. The shake the frost is all of the verses represent a time where morning frost would have settled. It’s his shit. He’s carrying it around and it is affecting their relationship he’s begging her to help to stay and help him and he will work on being a better man. Freaking beautiful song. Trifecta’s are so rare (Sing, write, play) but this dude is a beast. The fact that he was so young when he wrote it adds another layer that he had lived enough life at that point to understand all of these things and have all of these emotions and then unpack them in a song so well constructed. Crazy and sad at the same time. He’s doing what he should be doing. National treasure handle with care.
Tyler has simple chord progressions but his singing is what makes him so special. And his writing is awesome the way he can paint a picture with his words🔥🔥🔥
When he sings"my bones"... specifically the word bones...Is that what you mean by ending on the one? It just gives me chills... great song. Great insight on your reaction 🙂
My favorite lyric is about the mustang, that he ran on high hopes. Such a great analogy and metaphor for futuristic optimism and sharing them with someone. TBH his voice in this song kinda reminded me of an acoustic Goo Goo dolls song, just a little lol
My god, such a deep profound meaning done perfectly metaphorically, i was literally kinda sad at the end of the song because i wasnt ready for it to be over. Wonderfully and beautifully written! This is hands down my all time favorite song and tyler has quickly jumped up to my all time favorite artist, he does the “badass country boy” songs perfectly, as well as the “i love you baby, come dance with me” songs perfectly!
So glad you did this song Burt! My favorite part of the song is the opening verse I love hearing about Kentucky nature in a song! I think you should check out his song Gemini next! The video was awesome as always thanks man keep up the good work!
No matter the Genre of the music, wgen its this fucking good it really dont need any kind of analysis, this is music at its best , straight from the heart into the heart......
Last night went through the entire channel and listened to ever Childers and Colter video you made. They’re my hero’s. I’d love to hear your thoughts on Balde Butte and Transcendent Ramblin’ Railroad Blues by Colter Wall as well as Charleston Girl by Tyler. Ill Will Creek and The Flood are worth checking out by Cole Chaney ALSO. A Song While You’re Away is a song by Tyler you can only find on UA-cam and it’s one of his best. I’d love if you could react to it and maybe help it gain more popularity. I don’t think many have heard if. PLEASE
Tattoos. Mama told him not to tattoo himself with someone else’s name. So, he thought if you broke up with someone and you had their name tattooed on your body, just tattoo a headstone around it. Give it a listen…you won’t be disappointed.
Hi Burt, could you react to 1 of these songs, Sturgill Simpson "WATER IN THE WELL " , Jake Owens "WE ALL WANT WHAT WE AIN'T GOT" video Writen by the great Travis Meadows Who's in the video also TY for your Honest Reactions
Tried like hell couldnt find a favorite part. Just related to it all...a Sunday morning needs the choirs filling the air...mountains need that morning glow...his fast car needs someone in the passenger seat windows down...he’s begging to be completed like any man will admit is the only way to be alive
just found your channel yesterday and been watching a bunch of your reaction vids. great job. check out "house fire" and "country squire" from tyler. also one of my favorites is this version of purgatory ua-cam.com/video/0GdNWn99gMg/v-deo.html
What's your favorite part of the song?
All of the above but the emotion he puts in while singing always stands out first to me. It helps that the melody and lyrics are amazing too :)
I used ride a mustang and I ran that thing on high Hope's. Till they raised the price of dreams so high I couldn't pay. That's my favorite part.
Couldn’t agree more
Unbelievable writing.
...And I love u like the mountains loves the way the morning opens to a soft and bright greeting from the sun. Pure poetry right there brother.
"They raised the price of dreams so high, I couldn't pay" is so true!!!
Tyler has revived a part of my love for music that was once reserved for Hardcore and Metal. he emits a real sense of sincere emotion that i've yet to feel from another artist.
This is one of my most played Tyler songs. The amount of passion he puts into the song makes me feel what he is singing about.
Man my favorite lyric is when he says, “I love you like the mountains loves the way the morning opens to a soft and bright greeting from the sun.” I can just relate that to waking up next to my wife!! Great stuff Burt!
There’s too many good lyrics in this song! It ain’t even fair haha.

That makes it way more impressive! Thanks C!
His cover of Rock salt and Nails is Sublime, pretty much made that one his own!
it's the way he says bones..... so much emotion!!!
The verse of “I wouldn’t act so angry all the time”
You remind me of a Sunday back home in old Kentucky ,with church choirs just beltin' to the pines .Now that just sets the mind and eases the soul

I didn’t catch this lyric well on first listen but now reading it in your comment blows my mind. That is one HELL of lyric!

Same for me, and it was the small apartment couch version
His opening line the way he describes the love he has is so intricate and descriptive absolutely blows my Mind
It’s so profound.

Yeah I love to that too! The one is a reference to the root chord of the song.
i love this song because it’s just so raw. Just him and his guitar and the lyrics are insane and beautiful
Spot on with what your saying. Amazing Tyler! Coming back with " Shake this frost off of my bones " The way bones is said is So so good!

And that's saying something Mikeal!

quite a guitar player in his own right.
Check out deadman’s curve, purgatory, or out on a drunk/honkytonk flame live.

yeah you can tell he wrote this song while singing it
Wow. Yep. He sold his soul. 42 yr old mans man here. Tears in eyes. Singing his heart out. (Its terrible but I love it)
I hear some James Taylor influence in the guitar parts at the beginning and between the verses and chorus. You hear it??

Least interrupted song review ever because its the most emotionally demanding.
Gotta listen to messed up kid by Tyler different from most his songs
