Custom Welding Bed Filler Neck
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 чер 2023
- In this video, I will be customizing (using a zip disk, mig welder, and jb weld) the filler neck on this 2022 Ford to fit and flow properly on this custom pipeline style welding bed we have been building. I will use a 1 1/4" steel 90 fitting on the diesel filler neck and a 1" steel 90 fitting on the DEF filler neck. Then I will be using a torch to cut out the top deck of the front of the welding bed. We will measure and cut out holes for the diesel and DEF to fit in.

Kerf is the word you were searching for. Kerf: the amount of material removed when cutting
Thank you!
Hey man, the MVP pipeline in WV just got final approval to be finished today. It's going to kick off balls to the wall. You need to contact your union and get out here.
Thanks for sharing Austin, it's coming together and looking better. Fred.
JB Weld? Come on Austin!
Awesome job Austin 🤙
Enjoying this build
Great job as always
Very good Video 👍 👍
You do nice work I always have a hard time estimating the withe of the kerf when I make a torch cut
very nice brother 🤘
Looks great!👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏🙏
Kerf, the material that's being cut out during the process.
And plus Austin liked the video💯%
Bon Boulo😄😄👍👍
Wonder what you think about this
If you were to put the rod box right above the exhaust to heat it/ remove moisture I’m from Canada and there’s been times where I have been slamming my rods in the winter in my trucks exhaust while high idled to keep them hot 🤣
👌
Nice work Austin but where is your coffee?
Hey buddy, I know this is random but what kinda khaki pants are you always wearing?!
Can someone help me w/some oilfields job ideas, like which one is the best to apply at Texas?
So whats your thoughts on the knox welding shirts been looking but haven't heard anything yet about them by the way great videos on the bed
I like the white ones! They are slick! They are holding up ok for piddling type welding. I made a 24” .500 wall weld the other day with 8010 (down hill rod) and I’m not sure it will hold up like a Martin brothers but I need to give it a good run with down hill before I say for sure. For being an FR it holds starch better than a lot of other cheaper FR’s
Great video! Thank you. Do you think the bed would've come out too weak if only 1/8" and 3/16" plate were used?
I highly recommend at least 3/16 unless it’s broke then 1/8 can be enough
@@arosswelding Thanks. I’m wanting to do something similar, but 1/4” is too much weight for my trailer build.
Loved the idea of marking filler spouts with paint marker for reference points. How are the Knox FR shirts holding up?

I was just wondering. I've been thinking about trying one. Have you got any 3x Martin Brothers shirts back in stock. Last time I checked you were out of them.
Not yet. We are having trouble keeping the khaki ones in stock. We are thinkin about gettin some denim ones just so our customers have at least an option in between being out of the khakis.
@@arosswelding Ok j
Just let me know when you get them in
Wondering why the need for such thick plate on this build ?
It’s just my preference
When are you going back to pipelining?
As soon as he realize the Union is bad for pipeline.
I’m shooting for before the end of the year. But we’ll see.
@@arosswelding that’s good to hear. I enjoy the videos every Friday. Keep up the good work
