  • How to make Thai Tea: one of the best parts to eating Thai food is a nice tall refreshing glass of Thai Iced Tea. Forget your Redbull, Leave your Iced Coffee and your Monster Drinks alone, Thai Iced Tea is a great energy booster as well!
    We show you three great ways to make it.
    In Traditional Thai version we use Cha Thai Tea Leaves, Cane Sugar, Evaporated Milk, and Sweetened Condensed Milk.
    The American Thai Tea version uses 1/2 and 1/2 instead of canned milks with more sugar.
    The third version is Lactose Free Thai Tea, Gluten Free Thai Tea, Dairy Free Thai Tea, Vegan Thai Tea, Vegetarian Thai Tea, well, you get the picture. This version uses Organic Coconut milk and more a bit sugar with the Cha Thai tea leaves.
    Serve over ice and ENJOY!!!
    As always, Go Organic if you can!

      I nailed the Thai tea that I get in my local Thai restaurants. I got "Pantai" brand Thai tea on Amazon. I use 1 cup of tea in 8 cups of boiling water, steep for at least 5 minutes, strain. (I use a Thai tea sock also from amazon) add 1 cup of white sugar and 1 cup of sweetened condensed milk to the hot tea stir well and let cool. Put in the fridge until cold. when ready to serve pour into a glass full of ice and top with a splash of evaporated milk. for some reason it seems like it tastes better if you use a straw =) good luck.

    The "orange" color is from food coloring. It's still a black tea. Also, a sock filter is better than french press. A lot of Thai tea mixes have dust in them that gets through the french press.

    • @umm6727
      @umm6727 3 роки тому +3

      Actually technically it’s not rly food coloring but the tea is a black tea so it’s more like a dark red and by adding milk it looks more orange because if went from a see through liquid to a a muddied liquid which also lightens the color to orange so I would call milk food coloring but yes it is better to use a Sock filter

    “Look at this color. That’s how you know it’s legit” it says right there on the bag in pretty big lettering “#6 Yellow ADDED” haha so the color doesn’t speak to quality of ingredients. Also, I think you are supposed to use brown sugar not regular sugar.

      crazy what makes it the tea we know and love.... otherwise it's just another black tea?

    • @Sharak19
      @Sharak19 4 роки тому +5

      robdude1969 it’s a black tea with a heavy mix of herbs and spices and if I’m not mistaken it originally gets the yellow color from the black tea those spices mixed with milk But since the color gives it appeal I can understand them adding food coloring to enhance it.
