- How to make Thai Tea: one of the best parts to eating Thai food is a nice tall refreshing glass of Thai Iced Tea. Forget your Redbull, Leave your Iced Coffee and your Monster Drinks alone, Thai Iced Tea is a great energy booster as well!
We show you three great ways to make it.
In Traditional Thai version we use Cha Thai Tea Leaves, Cane Sugar, Evaporated Milk, and Sweetened Condensed Milk.
The American Thai Tea version uses 1/2 and 1/2 instead of canned milks with more sugar.
The third version is Lactose Free Thai Tea, Gluten Free Thai Tea, Dairy Free Thai Tea, Vegan Thai Tea, Vegetarian Thai Tea, well, you get the picture. This version uses Organic Coconut milk and more a bit sugar with the Cha Thai tea leaves.
Serve over ice and ENJOY!!!
As always, Go Organic if you can!

That blast at 0:09 scared the hell out of me!
I use erythritol and heavy cream for a keto version.
No one gives a shit
Thanks mate I'll give it a try
I use number 1 thai tea mix. I have already watched countless videos but my iced tea just does not taste like in the restaurant.
Maybe they use more sugar? I think the restaurant has the atmosphere and the yummy aroma in the air and all the delicious food. Damn I'm starving just thinking about it. Good luck! Or, maybe you ask them.... after a big meal.
I nailed the Thai tea that I get in my local Thai restaurants. I got "Pantai" brand Thai tea on Amazon. I use 1 cup of tea in 8 cups of boiling water, steep for at least 5 minutes, strain. (I use a Thai tea sock also from amazon) add 1 cup of white sugar and 1 cup of sweetened condensed milk to the hot tea stir well and let cool. Put in the fridge until cold. when ready to serve pour into a glass full of ice and top with a splash of evaporated milk. for some reason it seems like it tastes better if you use a straw =) good luck.
I just kinda cold brew the tea, and use only evaporated milk. Condensed milk just feels too distracting to me :/
I reaaallly love thai food especially thai tea, rice mango and pad thai❣️❣️ i would love to go back to thailand
The "orange" color is from food coloring. It's still a black tea. Also, a sock filter is better than french press. A lot of Thai tea mixes have dust in them that gets through the french press.
Actually technically it’s not rly food coloring but the tea is a black tea so it’s more like a dark red and by adding milk it looks more orange because if went from a see through liquid to a a muddied liquid which also lightens the color to orange so I would call milk food coloring but yes it is better to use a Sock filter
@@umm6727 no dude, thai tea has food coloring added to it. Did you never put milk into regular black tea?? It's not gonna be orange lmaooo
@@umm6727 If you look at the ingredients on the bag in the video it says yellow food coloring.
Shake the can of coconut milk first before opening
Myra Claire shake it like a Polaroid picture!
“Look at this color. That’s how you know it’s legit” it says right there on the bag in pretty big lettering “#6 Yellow ADDED” haha so the color doesn’t speak to quality of ingredients. Also, I think you are supposed to use brown sugar not regular sugar.
crazy what makes it the tea we know and love.... otherwise it's just another black tea?
robdude1969 it’s a black tea with a heavy mix of herbs and spices and if I’m not mistaken it originally gets the yellow color from the black tea those spices mixed with milk But since the color gives it appeal I can understand them adding food coloring to enhance it.
Never brown sugar
Good job! I found you can use a coffe maker too! Fun fact. Learned from the asain groccery.
After adding condensed, evaporated + sugar, try the back and forth water fall using 2 pots. Known in Thailand, this method will add foam and bubble to your thai ice tea.
yes - great tip.
@@robdude1969 also dont use french press lol
@@MasterPiece-rg7ed use what you have. This works. If you prefer a sock, use that. I find the press easier to use and clean after. Enjoy! Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to add to the discussion.
@@robdude1969 when you use a french press you still get the dust from the leaves.
Even a coffee filter paper is better than that.
@@MasterPiece-rg7ed and the sock? doesn't it let the dust through as well? sure this is a fine discussion... lol I would think a paper filter like for drip would not let the tea steep long enough.
OMG!!! Thai tea not coconut milk.
I have all the ingredients to make any version I want. You don't recommend coconut milk?
Remember he is a farang lol
Gentrified Thai tea. Yum 😋
Some people just have preferences because we live in america. Has nothing to do with the fact that hes white... smh
use chatramue #1 brand from thailand! you can get on amazon too! It just costs more than it would in thailand :( This is the one I saw vendors using in thailand! It doesn't have excessive coloring such as the pantai tea. I have both and the pantai seems to have more coloring than actual black tea in it despite making both brews the same way. But it is made with condensed milk in thailand ! :b Thanks for sharing different methods of making it ^_^
thanks for the tip - I need to order more anyway. I will look it up!
I added it to the shopping list in description - Thanks again for suggestion!
robdude1969 your very welcome ! ^_^ Hope you enjoy !
Wouldn't think the ORANGE Thai tea color is all that good for you. They add yellow food coloring to the tea. Check the ingredients.
Truth Lover yup they use food color for the orange. That’s why I don’t drink thai tea.
@@summerbreeze5758 theres an all natural in the shops its better try them
is the tea still hot when you pour it unto a glass of ice?
Its not worth it to do that. Just put it in the freezer for a little
Instead of the press can you use a reusable tea strainer or bag
Yeah it is meant to be sweet...
Soon or later we will all be sweet diabetic heart!
Clean your refrigerator b4 u crush ice. That's dirty
Try using can opener by placing it flat against top of can with wheel on inside and blade under lip of can.
I have totally shared this technique with friends! This can opener was built for blooper reels... It's a mess.
I need a Thai accent to take this video serious
🙄
Just cause hes white doesnt mean crap.
Im asian and personally love the effort he put. Peasants like you wish you had the creativity and money for this. Periodt
Trent Chang well for one I don’t give a shit. I said what I said, if that’s a problem that’s YOUR PROBLEM so carry on
Thanks for sharing 🙏 . All those so focus on his ridge. 🙄
That's cool that you added the sugar while brewing! I never thought of that.
It's so good! It melts in to solution faster this way.
Third version is if you are allergic to milk... Then you put half and half in it at the end???
I use mocha mix in my thai tea. it's the best.
How much do you use? Do you add it in the brew process? Do you use the coconut milk, half and half, or condensed and evaporated milk?
@@adamburdt8794 no, just mocha mix. I pour it to my liking.
It's pareve but yuck!
Good video but time to clean the ice tray dude gross
How much water did he use?
Vietnamese coffee is really good too, matcha green tea latte... ^ these -- and add some boba (tapioca pearls)
Can you (or someone, anyone?) develop a caffeine-free thai iced tea? I LOVE the flavor, but caffeine destroys me. Help!
Try making it with rooibus tea.
The best option is probably chai in this case
Ghetto:Kool Aid (a lot of sugar)
Thailand:Thai tea (a lot of sugar).
yum!!!
That title was so intense haha
rip to my ears at 0:10
Ok. Description was enough. Didn't need the video. Sticking to traditional version
My bank account recommended this video
I thought they used half and half, not evaporated milk, hm
We don’t have half and half in thailand 🤦🏻♀️American products aren’t found all over the world
All the versions I've seen use evaporated and condensed
I have the type in the red and white bag with the gold trim around the words. Is that good enough? Which way you make it is your fave?
I really enjoyed a mix of all three.
Thats the best version
The little things in life!
Dude clean the mold around the ice bin area. YIKES!
it's minerals from the water... but yeah. I get it. a lot. lol.
ITS SUPPOSED TO BE ORANGE, TOO MUCH CREAM
tastes and opinions. everyone has them, and that's wonderful.
robdude1969 no it’s not an opinion. I worked with Thai chefs and this isn’t an opinion
@@Robert-nx5ez The orange is only colouring and being phased out in Thailand so you wont be able to get it like that soon,MSG's or something
@@robdude1969 reading through these comments I'm like, wow, people are ridonk LOL you can't even make a stinking iced tea video without everybody raking you over the coals. 😂
Audio almost non-existent!
very nice
Lihat yang ngaduk tampak mantap sekali
Saya dibuatnya penasaran dengan rasanya
pastinya seger dan mantul ya
it is delicious.
I love ur voice
Is it definitely require Coconut milk mix with Thai Tea? What does it taste?
it is not required, but if you cannot drink dairy, the coconut Milk is a delicious alternative.
@@robertbarbutti6672 Coz in my country Coconit milk we call it Santan, thanks 4 ur video
Very informative, Thank you ! Loved the music. Please ignore the bitter naysayers and keep making videos !
u forgot to add boba me love boba haha
Re Fi the real thing doesn’t have boba though haha
No one has a french press..
Target does
You can get one at a yard sale or thrift store for cheap. Otherwise, tj maxx, marshalls and other dept. stores have them.
Use Brown sugar.
They’re the best.
No.
Not for original thai tea
Humboldt!!!!!!
Hello Sister! Do you love it?!?!?! Best ice cream too!
@@robdude1969 yes the ice cream was super delicious. Definitely miss the farmers market in Arcata
Work on your intros
You are judging authenticity by the color? Didn't you read the ingredients? Why would you buy tea with food coloring in it?
Clean that fridge
Dar Mar you’re killing me.
This tea has food coloring. No thanks
i thought it was tea and normal milk i-
Is this tea finely milled?
it varies from powder to chunks 2-4mm long
What's going on a lot?
What flavor
I think it's special to see you eat.
Press all to new friends ^^
