Hi Kathy, it’s not such a bad place to live, is it 😁 We are on Douglas prom now, downsized from a family house on Ballanard Road, now the kids have flown the nest 🙂
My last sister worked 8n the Isle of man in season work she loved it early 70s till her last visit 1978 to come home as my mum was ill.looks so good .gerry in glasgow
Used to go there every year when i was a kid. Nobles park, the lacksey wheel and the parades. Makes me cry thinking about my parents and aunts and uncles all gone now.
If you arrive via a dinghy on a UK beach from Calais you get picked up and put into top quality hotels for free, given free money, meals, clothing, mobile phone , healthcare and an allowance to name but a few benefits.,
1977 was the year I arrived on the Isle of Man for a 12 month job contract - I'm still here after nearly 45 years!
Hey Phillip I. Have been here 50 years...🌹

Being a Round the Horne fan, I immediately thought about J. Peasemold Gruntfuttock and his desire for Judith Chalmers.
I have a long association with the Isle of Man. Beautiful place. I miss it terribly.
Why don't you go back there tto visit it then ?
I am very proud to be the grandson of a Manxman born and bred.

Remember watching this as a child and was in awe of this jet set lifestyle.
Happier days. 7 ferries and 900,000 passengers. But 10 years earlier there were a lot more passengers.
There is no place better on earth IMO!
The people are just the best 👌🏻
This was enjoyable, and interesting to say the least!
I wanted more, but it ended. 😥
Are there any more videos by this woman?
There are

I absolutely want to visit the UK, alongside the Isle of Man.
It occurs to me now that Judith Chalmers would have been an awesome miss Moneypenny.
I think I'll go. Prices are reasonable too.
Yes indeedy
yes, very cheap. It's almost like the 1970's. lol
@tecdessus just dial operator and she'll put you straight through
£25 for a coach ride ?? - You could virtually have taken a mortgage out for that in 1977 !
£36 return on the ferry for a car back in 1970. That’s a really expensive trip! You can do it for not a great deal more today.
Keith Chegwin and Judith Chalmers were never seen in the same room together.
I love smoked kippers.
Went to Douglas 1976 or 77. Stayed in Rutland Hotel and went to Summerland.
The Rutland is still here 👍
Summerland is gone unfortunately
0:17 Groudle Glen Polar Bear pen?
I live here now so this is interesting
10:20 wonderful kipper!
Crows nest restaurant was the best on the island....
1977 first time the great Joey Dunlop first won a TT race
(4:33) Ah, then this is not the sandy area of the beach, eh?
(ouch!)
I was Belfast in 1977, you should have come over and do a turn for the troops.
I don't believe those horses ever made it to the 'retirement home'. More likely off to the knackers yard when they're done.
10.17 Judith's pose is not very flattering. The Vikings got a waft of her kippers and swiftly started rowing the other way.
She seems to be giving some sort of signal to passing mariners, a rather clear one at that!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
