Flying Scotsman lost in The Great Race, because he was competing against faster and probably younger engines. Besides, just because he hit 100 MPH, doesn't mean he's the fastest engine to ever exist.
Have a shunting race where you go down the track with a tank engine then have a tender engine ready to back up to the train to pull the collected rolling stock.
My grandfather worked for the national railroads of México, He tell me that if you needed to go faster in a QR-1 class you need to ajust the reverser to 30%-10% and the regulator to 100%
I don't know how the Flying Scotsman is at 97.6 on its speed. Back in 1924 it's reached 100 miles an hour and now in 2017 it's real speed is 140 miles an hour. How
If you take off the streamlining cover off the A4 class it is a steam loco, basically Streamlining just makes it more rounded for speed by adding a cover around the boiler
Good video and I'll have you known LNER A4 Pacific's are sexy as hell one of the A4 pulled the Royal train quite a few times and who said A4s weren't Royal engines
This is like a movie! I'm always on the side of the underdog! The Flying Scotsman won!!! Also, what's the name of the song you used for the final stretch
the thing that made Scotsman win is that Scotsman didn't brake at the same as Mallard and kept accelerating but by the looks of things Scotsman has better brakes lol very entertaining!
Obviously this race wasn't very accurate (because these simulators aren't accurate), but it was also very fun. I did not expect you to win either. So, Scotsman: congrats, and thanks Lazer for posting this awesome video (even though I'm almost 2 years late). :D All dislikes are from Mallard/A4 fans. Sorry guys but what can I say? This simulator lacks accuracy.
You said that the Mallard is not so good looking, which is true, but like a nissan gt-r, it's faulty looks are for good reason. it was one of the more aerodynamic trains of it's. time.
to maximise scotsman's speed pull revereser to 15% I did it in a test run in the academy route and got 152 mph, after pulling it to 5% 160, it sometimes works, but you need patience
@LaZeRJET you should try spawning Diesel in train simulator, you get a BR Class 42 Warship Hydraulic and put a hydraulic claw ontop of of it, and there you have Diesel.
instead of moving the reversor down try moving the regulator down. I had train simulator 2014 and the steam tutorial said to take down the regulator to go faster.
The only reason why you won is because Mallard was slowing down as a normal AI would do. And I’m not trying to be rude, i’m just saying. 8:02 also, this scene is my favorite because it has intense music! what is the name of that intense song?
If you think the A4 class locomotives don’t look like a steam engine, take a look at the streamlined Hudsons that pulled the New York central limited which looks like something out of this world, it is and American steam engine, which I love them not because I’m American but because how they look in grey and black sometimes silver and how they look
Your speaking to a person who know that Mallard is fastest locomotive in the world at 126 mph (203 km/h). The record was achieved on 3 July 1938 on the slight downward grade of Stoke Bank south of Grantham on the East Coast Main Line, and the highest speed was recorded at milepost 90¼, between Little Bytham and Essendine.
Do you think you can race Flying Scotsman against Tornado?
Those 2 Steam Locomotives were the Grandparents of the London Northeastern Railway High Speed Siblings
flying Scotsman says i can go 100 miles per hours. loses the great race
flying scotsman is one of the first locomotive that could reach 100 mph, mallard is one of the first locomotive to reach 126 mph
COS THERE WAS AN ELECTRIC TRAIN IN THE SAME RACE WHICH COULD LITERALLY GO TWICE AS FAST AS THAT!
City of Truro is the first to reach one hundred miles per hour
Ivan Nicolas allegedly. There is no proof and crew testimonies state that the city class would not be able to reach that speed.
Flying Scotsman lost in The Great Race, because he was competing against faster and probably younger engines. Besides, just because he hit 100 MPH, doesn't mean he's the fastest engine to ever exist.
Gordon/Flying Scotsman vs. Spencer/Mallard
Kooka Man ujjjjjjjjjjjjjakjajajajajajajaaj
So why is Gordon’s wheels 4-6-2 and tender 6 when Scotsman’s is 4-6-2 and tender 8
Kooka Man good idea
James Millington no Gordon is based in the A3 class
Might not be the correct locos but definitely is a good concept!
THAT WAS REALLY REALLY REALLY CLOSE
William Finch Like a movie!
I'm only halfway thru the vid so ,
@@irmtraudmuller895you will see how close
That was the closes race ive ever seen in my life!! Great job LaZeR JET and Flying Scotsman! Flying Scotsman is now the fastest engine in the world!
thanks man
LaZeR JET You should do a tug of war series!

Exactly
How is 4472s real speed 140 MPH?
Big Sai45 Answer: This is a simulator not real life...
If you take off the streamlining cover off the A4 class it is a steam loco, basically Streamlining just makes it more rounded for speed by adding a cover around the boiler
ok thanks
LaZeR JET yeah, all streamlined steam engines are normal engines with streamlined parts, we Americans got that idea from Mallard
I wonder how much easier the race would've been if Mallard didn't take that head start at the beginning.
You need to put this route up on the workshop! It's amazing!
Tip: decrease the regulator to around 50% to increase speed.
ok thanks
@@LaZeRJET I’ve met you at York
Good video and I'll have you known LNER A4 Pacific's are sexy as hell one of the A4 pulled the Royal train quite a few times and who said A4s weren't Royal engines
sorry but it's was a good race and the a4 are very good looking i know
LaZeR JET you insulted me for real this time I don't think I should fan mail to a mean and cruel UA-camr
Angry A4 Gamer A4s FTW
sorry man it's just a race it's all good
James Moore exactly
I Love Flying Scotsman with 2 tenders
Brian Maramwidze I hate flying Scotsman
Brian Maramwidze I like scotsman
What if flying scotsman build streamline 😂😂😂
I drove the flying scotsman
Flying Scotsman don't need streamlining to be fast because he is something you can't beat
mann you deserve like 1 billion subscribers
word it's would be better if 4472 had no 2nd tender
This is like a movie! I'm always on the side of the underdog! The Flying Scotsman won!!!
Also, what's the name of the song you used for the final stretch
Dont ruin it
@@ThePennineWanderer What? Ruin it?
@Gerry McNally then why do you read the comments before watching huh
OMG thats the best race in the Steam race history!
You make me great. My Parents rode the Flying Scotsman during their honeymoon.
the thing that made Scotsman win is that Scotsman didn't brake at the same as Mallard and kept accelerating but by the looks of things Scotsman has better brakes lol very entertaining!
That was the closest slowdown I've ever seen, it's ultra awesome.
Obviously this race wasn't very accurate (because these simulators aren't accurate), but it was also very fun. I did not expect you to win either. So, Scotsman: congrats, and thanks Lazer for posting this awesome video (even though I'm almost 2 years late). :D

I actaully shook and have chills in this race
That was one of your best race on your channel
Could Flying Scotsman go faster if it was streamlined.
(just for the record it's Mallard not Mollard)
Mallard: "he doesnt know he cant win..."
Flying Scotsman: "no frick you"
Wow! That was amazing! I have a suggestion. How about you do a triple train race? Example: Mallard vs Flying Scotsman vs Tornado
For the season finale make a really long race with like 10 trains in it.
This was the best race I ever watched! Next time can you do Super Class 47 vs Jet Train?
What's the name of the you used for the final stretch? And is it ok to use in other videos?
"They are just not pretty enough" *walks to Lazer Jet's house* Me: *slaps lazer jet*
Why would you slap LaZeR JET that’s his opinion
That race was like Gordon’s and Spencer’s race but Spencer just alameda throw buffers
Come on Gordon's brother I'm believing you flying scotsman
Flying Scotsman: HAHA I WON Mallard: Ugh all because of my silly wheels
Mallard is so much faster then the flying Scotsman
Flying Scotsman can go to 100mph but mallard can go 127 mph
daylight v a tube train
lol
Now that would just be exciting and interesting
Good job Scotsman
That was the closest race I have ever seen on this channel
It was time for Spencer to leave. He had seen everything.
He was about to tell Gordon that he CAN outrun the Flying Scotsman.
Flying Scotsman: Mainland, LNER, 4472, 100 mph top speed, A-3 Pacific
Mallard: Mainland, LNER, 4468, 130 mph top speed, A-4 Pacific
6:21 LaZeR JET becomes railway Jeremy Clarkson.
very thrilling i was shocked excited and happy
You said that the Mallard is not so good looking, which is true, but like a nissan gt-r, it's faulty looks are for good reason. it was one of the more aerodynamic trains of it's. time.
to maximise scotsman's speed pull revereser to 15% I did it in a test run in the academy route and got 152 mph, after pulling it to 5% 160, it sometimes works, but you need patience
My favourite A4 is mallard
That kind of look like the great race from the railway show.
Putting the regulator down as well works, It's not really like a car, so 60% throttle at 29 reverser would've gotten you to win
I think this race will have to be redone.
-Franz Ferdinand VIII
7:26 this is where the excitement begins
You gotta look out for your boiler pressure. Of course mallard gets away
@LaZeRJET you should try spawning Diesel in train simulator, you get a BR Class 42 Warship Hydraulic and put a hydraulic claw ontop of of it, and there you have Diesel.
And keep on adding stuff to the route
Flying Scotsman needs Tornado's help
why is mallard getting a tiny headstart because he's more forward than scotsman
also what's the name of the music that played at 8:01
We are might be driving the flying pig at the Severn valley tomorrow!!!
with the steam locomotives you can turn down both the regulator and the reverser and it will go faster
6:20 good shot dude
The thumbnail is badass!
thanks man stay cool
Keep building it, you are doing a good job on it
thanks
Yeah Lazer! Your awesome, I hope I get to speak to you on discord
here is the link to my discord discord.gg/5wENGA
keep building this railroad
You never lower your regulator, that's why you nearly lost.
mallard won the race just because mallard finished at the end of the track
Next time it should be Class 390 Vs Class 395!
Do a Union Pacific FEF-3 4-8-4 vs either one of these. Also, the Daylight would've beaten both of those steamers.
The flying Scotsman can go to 100 mph but Millard can go to 126 mph
Why was the flying scotsman pulling 2 tenders?
DarkThunder 210 one for coal, one for water
In my opinion, I feel like the second tender slows Scotsman down
Gordon vs Henry (dont judge me)
Do a race with Norfolk and Western class J 4-8-4 #613 against Chesapeake and Ohio 4-8-4 #614.
Don't feel confident. Mallard is so much faster
Lazer can you drive more than 2 trains at ones then find trains then you make a race off scotsmen vs mallard and tornado
You have the water tender on the flying Scotsman 4472 take it off!!!
Steam Line it looks good with the water tender
EmeraldBGaming // EBG I no but it slowed it down but I love it I wish Hornby made on but they don't ;(
Steam Line They did make a limited edition one.
Steam Line no difference even without it it can only go 100mph
Steam line the water tender is for long distance
Coranation class vs a4 class
it might be better if you build the fire to be much more roaring than before?
Flying Scotsman WON YES That was really close like really really close Damn but Im happy that Flying Scotsman won anyways =3
Flying Scotsman V.S. Mallard Vs Torndo Vs daylight
Here's a tip: don't have extra tenders!
That was freaking epic
instead of moving the reversor down try moving the regulator down. I had train simulator 2014 and the steam tutorial said to take down the regulator to go faster.
You're pretty good at driving but you would really benefit from watching your steam pressure. That's why you lose sometimes.
RACING Between the Trains !!?!?!?!?You are really lol
about 2 watch, moment of truth
The only reason why you won is because Mallard was slowing down as a normal AI would do. And I’m not trying to be rude, i’m just saying. 8:02 also, this scene is my favorite because it has intense music! what is the name of that intense song?
With out the streamlining mallard still does not look like a proper steam loco
If you think the A4 class locomotives don’t look like a steam engine, take a look at the streamlined Hudsons that pulled the New York central limited which looks like something out of this world, it is and American steam engine, which I love them not because I’m American but because how they look in grey and black sometimes silver and how they look
Do Sir Nigel Gresly vs Golden arrow
this ws before the rule of who stops first is the winner
How is your Train Sim 2017 not as laggy as mine?
How about you get a model of Spencer from Thomas and Friends and pit it against ALL the A4s
why don't you do mallard v.s Union of South Africa
You should do a triple header w/tornado,Scotsman,mallard
Yeah the A4's were designed after a car!
You did not even go whit 100 Mph but Mallard has maximum speed over 125 Mph.
when your able ,next can we daylight vs up 844
maybe
DatOneBassClarinetPlayer 22 or flying Scotsman vs 844
how do you will be faster then the fastest? (If this is to bad english i am from Austria)
Flying Scotsman is Gordons brother
Can you do a flying scottsman vs flying scottsman race
Why is tornado and duchess of Hamilton in the station
LaZeR JET I choose Flying Scotsman.
Thomas and friends
Spencer-Mallard
Gordon-Flying Scotsman
so in this case I like spencer more
