That UP diesel is called the SD40-2 which was one of the most successful diesels but today the GE ES44 is by far the most successful American diesel of all time.
List of all Locomotives: GS-4 Berkshire Big Boy aka 4000 Class EMD SD40 AMTK P40DC (or P42DC) Edit: i posted this when i was dumb at locos a P40 is different than a P42
The 772 is a Lima Locomotive Works ‘Berkshire’ 2-8-4 type locomotive, probably built in 1945. The engine declared to be the Polar Express’s real life counterpart is Pere Marquette 1225, even though it’s the same locomotive type.
The beeping noise was from the P42, if you don't touch the controls for 30 sec it will start beeping and to make it stop you have to press the reset button otherwise it will put the emergancy brakes on.
Kentucky Trainiac The 4th is not simply the Daylight, it’s the Lima GS-4. The Big Boy is an ALCO product, thus they should be designated the ALCO Big Boy and Lima GS-4 respectively.
The beeping is to warn you you are speeding, it is a seventy feature.and yes, it is sad, Amtrak doesn't want their trains speeding so they put in an abs. Union Pacific is a railroad and the big boy was not the first to go over 100 mph. The big boy is the biggest locomotive ever built. The first American steam loco to surpass 100 mph was in the early EARLY 1900s the big boy was built in 1940s and streamlines already surpassed 100 daily...
trains rule Its not the biggest I forgot the name but in Philadelphia there is a steam locomotive that literally broke the rails it ran on so it was retired.
I think what happened with the Big Boy was that a few seconds before derailing, the front set of drivers started hovering and the hinge pin that separates the two sets of drivers caused the front set to swing to the left and derail the Big Boy which is why the Big Boy was too long.
i got a suggestion for ya, try to put the inversor (is it how we call it) to neutral position when going to arround 100 mph, because like it is on a car, if the gearbox is engaged, the car can t go faster than the engine, and in a slope like this, the engine could actually slow the train, so i suggest putting the inversor on neutral to let gravtity do its job
Boiler of the big boy is actually meant to be detached from the front wheels so she can go down slopes easier and up slopes easier without the midsection of the train being lifted off the rails
That beeping is the over speed controller. Here it's set to 100 MPH, but in real life it's set to 79 MPH. If the train goes over the maximum allowed speed, the alarm sounds, and the driver must acknowledge by setting the brakes to Suppression and hit the alerted reset button. Otherwise, the computer takes over, putting the brakes on and bringing the train to a screeching halt.
11:10 this is a phenomenon called rolling oscillation and it happens at high speeds due to the shape of the wheels of the train, the reason bullet trains dont do it is because their wheels are farther apart and are almost complete cylinders rather than the slight cone shape of most train wheels
The amtrak locomotives should also be facing the same way. Lol. If you want speed from an American train, try the amtrak Acela Express. Lol. Enjoyed the vid!
LaZeR JET! You were right about the pacific diesel engine is ours, but the brothers and sisters of that type is what pulls our freight. You wanted Big Boy to go faster, but you removed the throttle and power to do that, so he failed the speed test because you have no understandings on how a steam engine works. That "Pollar Express - 772" Train Requires a redo on testing and that Engine is referring to the "Nickel Plate 765" ((Nickel Plate Road no. 765 is a 2-8-4 "Berkshire" type steam locomotive built for the Nickel Plate Road in 1944 by the Lima Locomotive Works in Lima, Ohio. Classified as a "S-2" class Berkshire, the locomotive operated fast, heavy freight and passenger trains until retirement in 1958.)) BTW Daylight would go faster if you were using the throttle and power at max, it works the same way as you use them on the diesel and electric.
"Union Pacific's Superpower addiction" Big boy as the superior steam engine. "Diesel trains may be more efficient than steam trains, but they are way weaker."
You know how you said Big Boy would be the first american steamer to go 100mph? Im gonna have to dissagre since alot of Americas streamlined trains, like SP 4449 went over 100 MPH. The Milwaukee Road had a Streamlined steamer thats called The Hiawatha, and they went 100mph daily. So, im gonna have to dissagre with that one!!! Still a good video tho :P
In actuallity, the Daylight is the fastest loco in this series. If the Mallard raced the Daylight on a flat surface with 20 passenger cars behind it, the Daylight would win. I bet a million on it.
mr derpington I'm a locomotive engineer for CSX. Of all people, I should know that the weight is irelvent as long as the power makes up for said weight and the cars you're carrying
I think that bnsf Burlington northern Santa fe is the most popular and most successful diesel locomotive company in the USA. also DAYLIGHT FOR THE WIN!!!!
4:52 That is the Alerter, press the yellow button in the cab near the throttle or emergency brake, it will acknowledge the beeping and will stop, so next time press that button.
11:00 when a train rocks like that it is called Hunting. The Japanese Shinkansen (Bullet Train 🚅) has this problem and it was fixed by Matsu Dyira. He changed the formation of the wheels and put bogeys in between the carriages
The reason for sudden bracking message is that the Amtrak locomotive has a fail safety system. While the locomotive is moving if the driver does not touch the throute or the horn the train will slow and stop.
Hi LaZeR, I just thought I could be helpful in regards with the names of the American locomotives. From left to right- 1. Southern Pacific class GS-4 #4449 "Daylight" 2. New York City & St. Louis (Nickel Plate Road) #772 3. Union Pacific "Big Boy" #4008 4. Union Pacific EMD SD40-2 #7888 5. Amtrak GE Genesis (P40DC, P32AC-DM, P42DC) #78
Amtrak: P42 UP: Gp40 Big boy's Boiler: Attached at front (kinda) that's why it looked like it was coming off, cuz its only attached at the back of the bogie for the front wheels to connect to the boiler.

Lazer jet you have the BEST videos
even if I'm American and your British I don't care your the best!
The big boy locomotives were ment to take big and heavy loads of freight over the Rockies, so the boiler moving is meant to happen
List of all Locomotives:

AMTK P40DC (or P42DC)
Edit: i posted this when i was dumb at locos a P40 is different than a P42
Gamers Aboard It was not Wasatch, it was King of the Wasatch named after the mountains it was built to patrol.
SD40 Not SD40-2
The 722 is not a Berkshire but okay
GamerDude4987 yep sorry didn’t fact check
A P40 is different than a P42, a P40's body is only one part however a P42 has the body and the nose
There are so many things wrong with this.
The UP locomotives are SD40-2s
The Amtrak locos are P42DCs (close btw)
GE/ General Electrics P42 Genesis
I have no idea what ur talking about, I may be American, but I know noting about the trains here, in more of a British steam engine kind of guy
Ok boomer
Furret The god ok furry
UP has sd40-2s and Amtrak has P42DCs
the "Polar Express" engine is called a Nickel Plate Berkshire
Buynot Polar Express is the Pere Marquette 1225
thanks
Marci Gill yes I know but the engine that was there was Nickel Plate 772...
Buynot boy its pere Marquette 1225
I know that! But the engine he used in the video that he called the Polar Express was Nickel Plate Road Berkshire #772!
The diesel is in SD40- 2 locomotive and the Amtrak is a p42 Genesis
The 772 is a Lima Locomotive Works ‘Berkshire’ 2-8-4 type locomotive, probably built in 1945. The engine declared to be the Polar Express’s real life counterpart is Pere Marquette 1225, even though it’s the same locomotive type.
LaZer: Skips no. 722 for the Daylight.
No. 772: How is that even fair?!
0:40 made me laugh so hard. I like this channel already.
To me, steam wasn't about speed. It was about power.
yes because of the giant wheels they have
Larger wheels mean more speed. Smaller wheels mean more power or in steam terms, tractive effort.
Baltic144Productions fr
Big wheels, built for speed
Small wheels, built for power
Shut your mouth
The beeping noise was from the P42, if you don't touch the controls for 30 sec it will start beeping and to make it stop you have to press the reset button otherwise it will put the emergancy brakes on.
1st train: General Electric P42DC
2nd Train: Electro-Motive Division SD40-2
3rd Train: Union Pacific Big Boy
4th Train: Southern Pacific Daylight
Kentucky Trainiac The 4th is not simply the Daylight, it’s the Lima GS-4. The Big Boy is an ALCO product, thus they should be designated the ALCO Big Boy and Lima GS-4 respectively.
Correction: 4th train: Southern Pacific GS-4
We Americans don't have good passenger services but we haul freight like there is no tomorrow
The beeping is to warn you you are speeding, it is a seventy feature.and yes, it is sad, Amtrak doesn't want their trains speeding so they put in an abs. Union Pacific is a railroad and the big boy was not the first to go over 100 mph. The big boy is the biggest locomotive ever built. the big boy is the biggest steam locomotive in the world, look it up.
trains rule City of truro was first to reach 100 mph
I think what happened with the Big Boy was that a few seconds before derailing, the front set of drivers started hovering and the hinge pin that separates the two sets of drivers caused the front set to swing to the left and derail the Big Boy which is why the Big Boy was too long.
Thanks and same to you Julius enjoy the rest of teacher's have a great day love you
The Big Boy is actually an articulated locomotive, so it's no surprise that the boiler would begin to come off the front wheel base.
i got a suggestion for ya, try to put the inversor (is it how we call it) to neutral position when going to arround 100 mph, because like it is on a car, if the gearbox is engaged, the car can t go faster than the engine, and in a slope like this, the engine could actually slow the train, so i suggest putting the inversor on neutral to let gravtity do its job
Cool! UP 7888 is an EMD SD40-2 as some people have already stated before probably.
The P42 has a built in saftey to keep it from going over a certain speed, so you were fighting it's safety systems past 110mph I believe.
Like Positive Train Control or PTC to name one
The daylight actually has that kind of whistle. It's more of a freight whistle rather than passenger.
Amtrak: P40
UP: SD40-2
UP4-8-8-4
NKP: 2-8-4
SP:4-8-4 Daylight
Boiler of the big boy is actually meant to be detached from the front wheels so she can go down slopes easier and up slopes easier without the midsection of the train being lifted off the rails
I miss these challenges

Trololol Gami
On the Amtrak train you can push the yellow button to avoid the emergency brakes.
Or you can press Q
11:10 this is a phenomenon called rolling oscillation and it happens at high speeds due to the shape of the wheels of the train, the reason bullet trains dont do it is because their wheels are farther apart and are almost complete cylinders rather than the slight cone shape of most train wheels

Nisc seed it wus lac 200000000000000%
That intro never gets old
Btw big boy's boiler bounces because the front is on a pivot because with the 16 drivers, it is hard to make corners.
“What no it’s a diesel locomotive of course it has no handbrakes!”
Actually the circle on the nose is the hand brake
beeping is the alerter on the Amtrak. reset it and u should be able to continue
When those Union Pacific diesels hit the buffers, the buffers were like Superman, they stopped it dead in its tracks.
LaZeR JET! You were right about the pacific diesel engine is ours, but the brothers and sisters of that type is what pulls our freight.

I love his videos so much I watch them every day
I loved this! I thought the SP Daylight 4449 would win, I have an HO model and she's my favorite train ever. I knew she could do it
Remember kids, do not mess with daylight.
the BigBoy was designed to pull long 100 car trains on its own. And go up hills, it was made to replace the Challenger 4-6-6-4
Do that with French trains. But you need have the TGV compete in the challenge.
"Union Pacific's Superpower addiction" Big boy as the superior steam engine. "Diesel trains may be more efficient than steam trains, but they are way weaker."
Steam Trains are awesome
Cole Ty very very True
Angry A4 Gamer and Vlogs Thanks for approval
S.P. 4449 nh
S.P. 4449 Uh I think lazier jet will play terminal railways in roblox and get roblux money in roblox studio one day
Elijah Trofort no he won't
That beeping is the alerter that's telling you to slow down. If you don't acknowledge it, then it applies the emergency brake.
The reason Daylight has a weird whistle is so it sounds aggressive.
Yea its my most favorite whistle
Your videos are my fav rotor things to watch on the internet :)
thanks man stay cool
Also test the broken engine in a different video. Thanks :)
21:28 170 mp/h.
What is that in km/h?
@@Bregott07 273 km/h
Khronikles. Dang that is fast.
Thanks for the video Lazer jet!

Oskar0110 even I disagreed with Oliver about that
Oskar0110 what about 999
999 is from Galaxy Railways and its Japanese
Oskar0110 no, I'm talking about NYC 999, it reached 115 mph in 1902
+Ben Wetzel did you know in real life the restored 611 can reach 150
Day light has a good horn and a good bell and it’s my favorite train and your talking rudely to my favorite steam locomotive!!!
Yeah in real life the bell and whistle are some of the best in all of the restored locomotives
Crap daylight I like the 844
It’s ok
the union pacific is a railroad, NOT a locomotive
Ben Wetzel there bolf man shut up and 1st bigest
Axlommjuyfgfggb Schmidtline what?
Ben Wetzel ikr
Ben Wetzel Sir your sum
idk, i love the GE Union Pacifics :P
hi I was just watching your show and it's cool I can't wait to see these American trains go downhill
I like the Amtrak
Thanks, I like the amtrak train too.
this is the first vid i saw so that is why i keped on waching your train sim vids
Union Pacific is the railway company. This specific engine is called SD40-2
In actuallity, the Daylight is the fastest loco in this series. If the Mallard raced the Daylight on a flat surface with 20 passenger cars behind it, the Daylight would win. I bet a million on it.
I thought of an idea. Super Class 47 down the hill.
Oh god
Fun fact, daylight and nkp 772 were both built by the Lima locomotives works in Lima Ohio
daylight is my favorite so im happy it beat flying scottsman
I have a love for trains and sometimes I like to watch people expariment with what they are capable of, so I come to your vids. Keep it up!
Can you made a triple header speed test and race
The big boy is actually the largest steam train ever built.
3:21 Am I watching top gear?
I don't get it
I've never watched it
I'm so proud of Bigboy
while the Brits prefected the steam locomotive, we Americans prefected the deisel locomotive
ethan hatcher not true there powerful and big but are extremely heavy
mr derpington I'm a locomotive engineer for CSX. Of all people, I should know that the weight is irelvent as long as the power makes up for said weight and the cars you're carrying
ethan hatcher How did the brits perfect the steam locomotive?
ethan hatcher Yes, the mallard was a fast locomotive, but there were plenty of American engines that could reach the mallards speed.
Brits + trains = goodness. is the sum your looking for
I think that bnsf Burlington northern Santa fe is the most popular and most successful diesel locomotive company in the USA. also DAYLIGHT FOR THE WIN!!!!
can you do the magleve v dalight v the fling scotsman v the train we didnt see go down
SC Gaming i don't think maglev is available in ts 17 yet
Edit: never mind just saw the dlc
SC Gaming maglev
Maglev and flying
And daylight
The Amtrak Acela Express is our fastest train, but it's powered by overhead wires using a pantograph
please do Canadian trains next
super cool justin fgffrfcg
super cool justin ugh
super cool justin Its literally the same we use the same tech as canada.
Canadian steam maybe?
CCircuit No such thing exists in the game yet. Maybe someday.
4:52 That is the Alerter, press the yellow button in the cab near the throttle or emergency brake, it will acknowledge the beeping and will stop, so next time press that button.
Daylight is the fastest steam engine!!!!
Le Mallard.
Mallard
Pennsylvania Railroad S1
Your logic makes so much cents
An amtrak train derailed today
let me guess, DuPont?
out of all the trains in this video, the Daylight is my favorite
The auto brakes is so annoying especially in a speed test
Just discovering this channel! I love it!
I see the yellow one train at home
Union Pacific?
11:00 when a train rocks like that it is called Hunting. The Japanese Shinkansen (Bullet Train 🚅) has this problem and it was fixed by Matsu Dyira. He changed the formation of the wheels and put bogeys in between the carriages
When They Know NOTHING.
The reason for sudden bracking message is that the Amtrak locomotive has a fail safety system. While the locomotive is moving if the driver does not touch the throute or the horn the train will slow and stop.
can you upload this speed ramp to the workshop
The Union Pacific is called an SD40-2 and it's so loud because it has an American V16 with about 4000 horsepower or so I've read.
AbledBeast It’s powered by an EMD 16-645E3 producing 3000 hp.
3:14 well duh. lmao 🤦♂️
The black steam train is called mountain
Is this map on the steam workshop?

Quinn R 444 mph
Quinn R 'Amtrak'
The big boy locomotives had 6000 hp, so I'm not surprised it took off like that. Plus, it has 16 driving wheels
I realised that daylight has 2 tenders in real life oil and water
The beeping noise on the amtrak is a alarm that is on a yellow button in the cab. Comes from 30 sec to 1 min
I love it how the trains are bump down the hill🥰
Hi LaZeR, I just thought I could be helpful in regards with the names of the American locomotives. From left to right-
1. Southern Pacific class GS-4 #4449 "Daylight"

In the question you made why diesel locomotives don't derail and steam derail is because diesel and eletric trains have a magnet inside of the wheels to keep the stabilized on the track.
At least in european trains.
