I like using the Catalyst ribbon when I'm using the Calvary division. Since you can't put attachments on your gun when running Calvary, the Catalyst ribbon will act like those attachments are there like rapid fire, quick draw and fast magazine. Try using in Domination while running Calvary. Since you know when you're capturing a flag, use it right before entering the capture zone.
This is actually a really good idea! Get ready to flank, activate catalyst, wipe them out, and switch to shield extra quickly to defend until it's capped.
@@CT3LA Exactly! You get the switch between the riot shield and your gun much faster like the Rifleman ribbon. I completely forgot about that! Great idea!

Apart from the benefits of using catalyst with LMGs or Sniper Rifles, I believe this basic training can be extremely helpful after unlocking new weapons that you're gonna want to use them as your main asap but since the gun is at level 1 u need to level 'em up first to get all the attachments you need. My opinion is, in those cases the catalyst not only does the job of Quickdraw, steady aim, rapid fire, fast hands, but also can fill the void of fast mags in the absence of such attachment in this game, untill you level up the gun far enough to get the actual attachments. One other weapon type I think the catalyst serves well besides LMGs & Sniper Rifles, is the shotguns. The serum's also a fine tool when it comes to wielding shotguns but I too believe the timer is short.
Bro you are amazing. You get some killer research done. Much appreciated. I could play for weeks strait and still be guessing without your stats. Next question will be if steady aim rapid fire or other variables stack with serum? Amazing research as always thus far brother👍

Honestly, for what they were going for this is an excellent basic training, especially for aggressive players. My only concern is that 8 seconds is such a short time that really the only map this would have any significant effect on would be Shipment. If they balanced it a little better, i.e. make it 15 seconds of use, 30 for recharge, then I feel other larger maps could be more suitable for this basic training. Especially on modes like Dom and CTF. Great breakdown like always!
Well I wasn't saying that as my only fix, I was merely stating an example of how I feel it could be made a little more for the competitive players which is what I feel this was put in here for.
It’s noticeably that the perk it’s own thing it does not stack with some perk that provides it like increasing its timer usage and etc, but some other perks and attachments can like hustle, quick draw and rapid fire, which case it’s really a benefit to scenarios and plan of approach attack with those improvements to catalyst, think of the blitz perks in zombies there kinda like that.
Great video, explained very clearly what Catalyst does, and your test results are very useful. Other videos just gave speculative and sometimes spurious 'facts', e.g. that it removes recoil lol.

@@DJczak Escalation doesnt stack but the effect extends. Essentially meaning that catalyst and escalation are god damn ridiculous when ued together. For example, One of catalysts main uses is fast ADS times. If you can see a fight is about to happen, you pop Catalyst and then go into the fight. The fast ADS means you can sprint in with something like an LMG no bother and tear through the first guy with your heightened LMG speed (Best to use a slow but powerful one like the MG81 which has a fast ADS by default and hits hard) because this pairs speed and power together into a monster package. When the first person dies you can release the ADS, slap the aim over to another target and hit the ADS again, performing a rapid turn without fully dropping out of ADS, letting you switch targets extremely quickly to hit number two. And this is typically where Catalyst ends, but it doesnt matter because this is where resistance picks uo the slack. With catalyst giving the rapid fire power to basically make your first kill a freebie, the second target should be pretty easy as well. And if you DO kill them, resistance perk will carry on your rapid ADS, so you can target number three if they're there but more importantly, resistance will instantly refill your magazine, which catalyst tends to burn through pretty fast (I dumped 75 rounds out of the MG15 in about a second and a half to two seconds of I'm not mistaken its kinda ridiculous) so this means that catalyst can provide a free kill, make your second kill significantly easier, and then allow you to continue the fight beyond the ooint at which you'd normally need to dip out to reload, without taking the extended mag attachment meaning that extra slot can be used elsewhere. Its an extremely potent combo and I personally find its kind of wasteful to run catalyst with a fast firing gun. The mid and slow fire weapons hit hard and get the added RPM bonus and that helps you make the most of it and then resistance can be used to keep pressure on the target after catalyst wears off.
I don't mind the 30 second wait time, but it should last 10-12 seconds. I often find myself getting killed as I'm calling it in because I have to wait until I'm near hot spots... For sure thought it was going to help with recoil....oh well I guess the reload time and rate of fire is good enough. Used it a bunch the last couple days and didn’t see anything noticeable to make me want to use it. Like you said, I’d rather use a BT that is active all the time. Yo Ace, you might wanna check this out because I don't thing Catalyst is supposed to be used on its own. Right, hear me out about this because either this is the greatest coincidence in COD history or this was calculated as fuck. Commando, Escalation and Catalyst all work together to "Catalyse the commandos power and escalate it further than it can normally go" By taking Commando you can pair catalyst and Escalation together to create a snowball class. It starts with catalyst and a machinegun tyoically, but a high power Assault rifle like the Bar or the AVS can also work well. You find the fight you need to get in to, and you hit catalyst. Then you move in on the target with a high power gun, that has had its fire rate buffed to the levels other AR's typically have, getting the best of both worlds. This is the "Catalyst" stage, you're only getting started by powering up your soldiers combat abilities pre fight. Then, while you're powered up, you make your first kill in a fight, tearing through the first target easily, and commando II begins to heal any damage you've taken from the first person. Then, using the improved handling that catalyst and Escalation both give you in addition to the mid fight regeneration of Commando II, you can begin to attack the next player quickly. Typically catalyst will run out around here, or it will let you kill the second player and then it'll fade, but either way you're in the fight, the first target is dead and the commando II ability plus Escalation means you are now healing from the damage sustained by the first target, your weapon aiming is fast and snappy and Escalation part 2 is kicking in to make things even better for you as your second rapid kill immediately refills your magazine to full and your healing activates again and now your health and ammo is back to full in the middle of the fight, and you're ready to keep going. The catalyst has worked in making you more powerful, and escalation has carried it further and made you more powerful still with the help of commando. And finally, to top it all off as you move into the third and fourth fight in quick succession with your amped health and Aim time, commando III is now active, and each person you kill is adding more and more points on to your score multiplier. The first kill is adding 25 score on, the second adds 35, you've rapidly made 260 points. Number three will likely carry it straight to 400, and you're still not slowing down so you could get to four or five and rapidly get to 600 points in a very short space of time as each aspect of catalyst, escalation and commando plays off each other to act as multipliers to your health, ammo counter and scorestreak points. Blazing through the enemy like this, And it really is quite good at doing this I've already had matches like this, you can very quickly tear through the team, and the call in a wave of helpful scorestreaks as you reset, like a UAV or a glide bomb, and then as the enemy pushes in again, your catalyst will be on the edge of resetting again if it hasnt already, and once more you can catalyse and go straight back in swinging. A commando that catalyses and escalates their firepower and resilience.

I think it behaves more or less how I thought it would. However, i would like to see it last a little longer or recharge quicker. It seems to take so long to charge and then either it's used up or you get killed and then you are waiting again. If you take let's say a TDM game on shipment they last about 2:30 mins which means at best you can use it 5 times if you use it back to back as soon as it's ready which means that the wait time is about 1:50 where you have no benefit at all. It would be nice to see it last for 10-12 seconds or see it recharge in like 20 seconds. I wouldn't want it to be too crazy or it would be way OP but right now it's just a waste of a basic training IMHO.
I don’t like the fact that whatever basic training you want for airborne, resistance, mountain, cavalry and expeditionary divisions sacrifices the hunker basic training where it protects you from grenade spam. That’s why I think there should be two basic training slots for every division
My summary is it gives you all attachments (except extended mag/supressor, suppressor, that actually change gun makeup) plus hustle basic training for 8 seconds.
Great video, thorough and always, but I was left wondering if (since it impacts rate of fire) if possibly it increases bullet penetration (fmj)? Indint recall hearing it mentioned. Thanks!
tbh i think recoil should be reduced in addition to the increased rate of fire, as well as remain active for atleast 10 seconds, that would make it a viable option
For snipers if I want to get Feeds I'll honestly just use escalation. I don't like inconsistent ads with my snipers. That spread seems deadly on a shotgun though. Especially on the blunderbuss. I actually just thought of something. When the next throwback mosh pit comes out people can pick both jugg and stopping power so that is something that will be kinda sad to be involved in. Will make the game actually slower tho.
Quick question, do you start to regenerate your health when you use the serum? Can you reload while sprinting (like hustle)? And does the orange effect on the borders of the screen reduce the line of sight?
Can’t see me using it as I think the sniper will benefit from this most of the time although I may try with armoured and lmg ..would have thought it would impact either SOT or sprint to allow you to compete with airborne
Hey Ace! Loved the video but I just wanted to give just my opinion about something. It looked like when you were cutting from clip to clip you were using some sort of flash mechanic in between. I can’t remember if I’ve seen this before. Maybe i have and i just recognized it. But to me, it was just a bit bright and obnoxious. It’s not going to stop me from watching the videos or anything but I just thought it might be something you would want to know if you were trying something new. Just my opinion though.
Catalyst gives you quadfeeds, i ran it with a kar98 on shipment to test it out and hit a collat on one side of the map then ran to scope the other side and took out a further 3 hiding behind a jeep, I only quickscope and damn this makes it op loool.
It seems that I've seen people (including my self) getting one-hit melee kills when Catalyst is active, even if using the butt of my gun. I was kind of surprised you didn't address that, so now I'm wondering is anyone else seeing it?
Didn’t like it found myself losing gun fights because timing it is difficult and it takes a good 5 seconds it seems to inject the syrum and during that time I get killed
Its not even half that time for injecting dude. Its not supposed to be reactionary though, its a planned move. If you dont know how to read spawns, the map and in general the most likely place for an enemy to be at any given time, you wont find much use for it. If you learn to do all of those things you can use it to great effect. Or, if you really wanna make use of it in a hurry, take the expeditionary class and some stuns. If you throw stuns into the air above an area, they'll paint enemies to the mini map for you and you can juice up before going for the marked targets. It'll also help you decide if its worth using or not. If theres not more than one guy I wouldnt bother but two or more is an almost guaranteed multikill when paired with a three shot kill LMG or AR as the increased RPM makes hard hitting guns the best choice for using this thing with. You'll have the fire power of a Bar with the fire rate of say, the M19 AR. And thats a hell of a combo.
I’m going to try this out seem good to me after this clip see if I like this or not well I can’t stop use hunker at all after I use it an got use to it I can’t stop using it. Special cause I pay dom well going to try it out
Ditch armored and go for commando. Get a second basic training skill and have it be specialist if this stacks with it. Specialist is easier to go high with and if you don't want that then do commando with escalation. Commando gives ammo for double kills and escalation refills your mag on double kills, also reduces ads. Basically you won't die. I recommend ditching rapid fire for a grip Because that 30% increase to fire rate will throw off some shots so grip can be useful but I recommend the set up I just said.

I can’t remember if I’ve seen this before. Maybe i have and i just recognized it. But to me, it was just a bit bright and obnoxious. It’s not going to stop me from watching the videos or anything but I just thought it might be something you would want to know if you were trying something new. Just my opinion though.
That's catalyst
Can you review the new gun you get for prestiging commando please.
Should test ur health as well. Feel like I'm eating bullets when I use the serum
From what I’ve tested this perk work best with airborne division imo
Catalyst gives you quadfeeds, i ran it with a kar98 on shipment to test it out and hit a collat on one side of the map then ran to scope the other side and took out a further 3 hiding behind a jeep, I only quickscope and damn this makes it op loool.
Catalyst didn't affect sniper ADS in my testing. Same with Escaltion. (Only affected iron sights and karabin
The side by side comparison in this video clearly shows that it does have an impact
@NC_Soilder I couldnt notice...
@@AikaKitsune escalation effects snipers. I feel the effects of it constantly.
When you use it you can cancel the animation by pressing triangle on PS4 and idk for pc but yea
For melee, did you test it with just gun melee or also with a regular shovel swing too?
I like this one. I wonder if it will get nerfed.
Catalyst and scoped bang
What about activation time?
Seems like 2 seconds which really adds to the downsides to this BT.
It seems that I've seen people (including my self) getting one-hit melee kills when Catalyst is active, even if using the butt of my gun. I was kind of surprised you didn't address that, so now I'm wondering is anyone else seeing it?
Rate of fire increase, huh? Certainly wasn’t expecting that.
Do the serum fasten up capturing domination flag or similar object modes?
*THE NOSCOPER SERUM*
I really thought the idle sway would have been decreased with the serum
So its like a mini bo3 specialist ability
Not really.
Yeah kinda
How would Catalyst+ Escalation work together like in specialist?
Can you make a video about the war serums
Great for the glitch
Commando + Hustle + Catalyst + Mounted Lmg
I’m going to try this out seem good to me after this clip see if I like this or not well I can’t stop use hunker at all after I use it an got use to it I can’t stop using it. Special cause I pay dom well going to try it out
Do catalyst and hustle and reload the Bren or another gun
If you use Hustle and Catalyst in the Commando division, what happens to the reload speed??
I would like to know if the reload speed of catalyst stacked with hustle?
Does it help with flinch, from being shot, at all?
Ppsh QD, rapid fire, ext mag, armored, and with this will let me easily get more v2 rockets
I recommend ditching rapid fire for a grip Because that 30% increase to fire rate will throw off some shots so grip can be useful but I recommend the set up I just said.
this is IAMPIE I’m nasty with that ppsh set up but commando and escalation sounds good but i don’t like being injured by random nades
Imagine pushing a hard point and just clearing them all out because of catalyst
