Good job on boat and video. I’m in the midst of doing the same and I’m going to roll/fold the hatch lids because the gaps will drive me crazy. I’m going to use u-channel edge guards to clamp/pinch the flooring to the lid edge to keep it from peeling up.
So it truly depends... I loved it on my boat for ease of application Half Wood / Aluminum made it easy. I had an older tracker all wood - it wouldve been longer process with the resin and risk of it bubbling. but for mine i loved it ill never go back to carpet .
Cut. lol to fold the corners is so much work for the first hot day for it to fold up. But cutting is clean and do t have to compensate the lids getting stuck when you close them.

The fold is always where the foam will lift up first. That's why tiny boat nation recommend to cut it at the bend and put anew layer down.

Great tip! Two pieces for the corners work out best & it meshes very well.
Do you recommend this eva foam? Thinking about removing my carpet on my bass tracker to add this stuff

I have a 2003 PT185 I’m putting EVA Carpeting in. What would be your advice for the lids? Would you still fold or cut/add front strip?
