@Babylon falling Eh I'm trying to get into fixing/maintaining my truck myself, but only starting with minor shit for now. The problem is... theres no inor work needed on my truck anymore. Just major shit like the differential, which I do not fucking like the idea of messing with, and transmission issues which yet again... too afraid to touch.
This video makes me feel 100000000000x better about my mechanical ability knowing I put on a 5" exhaust by myself with no help.... Lol

@@zollieh yes u should do your research, but when u take your truck to a shop that is supposed to know what they are doing then u shouldn't have to worry about shit like that, that is the point of this vid. What he should have done after getting his receipt was called a lawyer and filed a lawsuit against the shop, as well as brought criminal charges against the shop for fraud and I'm sure a few other things they could charge them with. That way he could atleast get what he paid back.

Here in Houston, TX a shop called PPS diesel charges $1500 for egr and dpf delete. Alligator performance sells the delete package for about 1300 with tuner, egr plates, and downpipe.

OBS Luke The first shop I ever took my truck to they didn’t even ask me if I wanted my parts back, they just threw everything in my bed. They also walked me around my truck before and after and told me and showed me all new parts (they also notated any dents or scratches because apparently some guy wanted a new paint job at one point).

Anything diesel and engine related is about 100 x’s more expensive it’s just a trade off for the massive amounts of pressure the engines operates with.

Check the lift pump install. You shouldn’t have issues with it running at 1/8 tank. Run mine down to the light almost and no problems

Had a similar problem. Was priced 400$ for a 3” exaust for my camaro. They gave me 2 1/4 and showed me a 800$ bill. That was the first and last time my car was in a shop
That's why when ever I go to a shop to have work done I tell them I want the old parts, easy inventory had a furnace man here couple weeks ago left a bill and took my parts with him a d I am still waiting for my parts and he is still waiting on his cash
Should take them to court for it with this video as proof. Could've got your money back and then some for you time and headache of having to go back and do it yourself.

When you drop it off and when you pick it up ask for all the old parts or stock parts back! It's not 100% that they came off of your truck but it helps at least. I hate places like this because I do work like this and would never do something the customer did not want or give permission to do and they make it so dam difficult for guys like me every day that kill ourselves to go above and beyond and get a good rep going then something like this happens and it makes every small place become second guessed in a lot of people's eyes. Good thing you have your buddy's there to help you out and make it right! Sorry this shit happens to honest people like that, lame as hell!

I always prefer to do the work myself. Another option that I prefer is what happened in this video: invite your friends, work on the vehicle and grill some food. It saves you money and you end up having a good time.
If I have to take it to the shop I always buy the parts myself and then I go to the shop. This guarantees that I purchase for the desired parts.
And this is why I do all my work on my cars and trucks by myself because a lot of shops like to scam

Why i do the work myself the 6.5 I've been working on has had about 30k dumped into it and 3 months later breaks and i took it back to get it warrantied they still cant figure it out. Want the job done rite do it yourself kids
