Love them old RVs, brought back memories of dad and son enjoying hobbies together. There is nothing better than father and son time. Enjoy watching your video. 👍🏻
Don't know if you are my old friend Len Compton did the same thing we were all into the dirt bikes when we were younger. I only got out of it because of age. Len still transports even now taught his son to drive that way. Just a week or so ago his son brought a customers barn find 84 F-150 to us all the way from Tennessee. Those were certainly the days. The summers we ran Modifieds and in the fall and winters dirt bikes. Same breed I guess.
This is the type of stuff I wish I could have done. When I was a kid my dad was always far away working construction. So I'm doing and learning stuff on my own. I hope to have a son or two in the future and do cool projects like this.

So imagine how much and how long it would have been if it were a '78 Whatever if it was possible at all.

Pretty cool little RV. Just a reminder, always check the fluid level in a TorqueFlite with the selector in Neutral. In neutral, the pump will activate. You want to check the level of fluid with the pump running.

Love these old start videos especially when it’s something as cool as this! I haven’t seen a Minnie Winnie in a very long time. I would venture to say the MinnWinn. is probably a pretty rare bird! By the looks of it you got a solid one. As long as the frame is solid on them you can easily remodel them! All there is to them is a wood frame some insulation and whatever paneling you like. I remodeled one several years back and I’ll tell you how to remodel it for almost free as far as the wood and paneling goes! Find an single wide trailer someones giving away and bam💥 all the wood and paneling, electrical outlets, wire if it needs rewired probably will. I got lucky and the trailer I found had good carpet in it the lady that owned it was super clean so it was super clean I used the over the range microwave out of it and also a couple windows and believe it or not a window air conditioner unit was also in it! So you see what I’m saying find someone giving away a trailer home and work out a deal where you can go take it apart and get it because that’s why their free because people want them moved unless you find one local and have a tractor big enough to move it to your house. That would be even better
I cant believe i came so close to buying that, i was scared to waste the money since it been sitting there for so long. This video changed my day. This is awesome.
Yes just another reminder about checking fluid in neutral. The pump on Torqueflites doesn't pressurize in Park. Also, the "kickdown" is that, but it's actual name is the "throttle rod", because that's what controls the shift timing. It never, ever can be left disconnected, otherwise the line pressure will be way too low and it'll slip and burn the trans right up. It's gonna be a fun rig!
That is an awesome little RV man! Interesting grill for sure. And those boxes always go out. My dad was always replacing those boxes on his trucks back in the the day. They suffered from poor grounds. Pallmals and poor decisions. Love that! This is a killer CHANNEL.

My son's buddy (now 44 years old) had an old Dodge van given to him by his dad, it had almost 300K miles on it. He tried to destroy it for about a year, couldn't do it. Finally he drove it to the junk yard, but the engine was still going strong. The 318 and 360's were beasts, go forever. I hope you restore this old girl.
I am old Mopar guy and have 1976 dodge chinook 360... well I have 6 Mopar's with 360's... From Ramchargers, powerwagons, ram 2500 etc....They are great engines and were so tragically overlooked, complete workhorses that will run forever... on the ECM and Voltage regulator... I cannot stress this enough ONLY buy genuine Mopar.... On my 1977 ramcharger my original voltage regulator went out, replaced it with $15.00 aftermarket autopart store one... I got about 6 to 7 months out of it... Then I went and stepped up to $80.00 ECHLIN Napa part and only got about 2 years... I replaced with original Mopar part about $150. and 8yrs later still running perfect... The original Mopar voltage regulator and ECM lasted about 35yrs in my 1977 ramcharger.... If you have the AMP meter in the dash take it out and get rid of it, most dash fires in old Mopar's come from this gauge. Dodge was silly running all those alternator amps through the firewall and into the plastic gauge cluster to read the running amps... I always replace with voltage meter and I can tell if the alternator is working that way... If I need to know amps I do it with meter clamped safely on the alternator...

This brings back memories.I had a 77 dodge conversion van. I worked on the 318 several times as it was 14 yrs old at the time with 175,000 miles on it. I done timing chain, water pump, lifters, alternator. Starter. I had set timing plenty of times while driving down the Rd. We Never had an issue with the 727 torque flite transmission..
You are cracking me up! 12:58 Had me LOL! I used to help my Dad wórk on his Van. It was a Ford. When he'd test drive it, the cover would be off. Watching your video is bring back find memories with Dad.
I had a 1974 Tradesman van with a 360, that I bought new. Most of the vehicles you work on I new someone that had one or remember when they were on the road. Makes me feel old😢
@@Sleeperdude There WAS a class A motor home built on a Dodge diesel pickup truck with the factory Cummins. Around 1993 or 1994. It got twice the miles per gallon as a same sized gas motor home did. I wonder if it was not built on the van chassis because the diesel could not be made to fit. Not just because it was not offered.
My wife and I had the same camper, with a longer wheelbase. Bought it from our mechanic who's wife would not ride in it! The 360 was great, no problems in the 20K we drove it. But, and it is a big but......the Dodge truck wiring was terrible. Pretty much the same kind of jury rigging everywhere in the chassis. All of the wiring through the camper had shorted and had been spliced multiple times. The wooden camper frame was rotted, and I had to rebuild about 1/3 of the studs and joists, in particular around the door and roof. I towed a light boat with it successfully until climbing a 20 degree hill in our campground while towing a boat from a dead stop while checking in, and did something not good to the transmission, which was a really big transmission. I was told a rebuild was about $5000, so I sold it to someone for a hunting camp. When it worked, it worked good! But if I had replaced everything that needed to be fixed (including the air conditioning) I would have gone broke. Good luck, but you will ALWAYS be fixing something on the truck or camper side. These were not built for longevity, but it sure was fun!
A fellow Volare owner.... You don't meet many of those. I had a '79, and it is my favorite car that i have ever owned. I loved that car. They don't get enough respect.
Definitely an interesting RV, the same living quarters I guess you would call it was offered on General Motors Van Body’s as well with a Chevy 350 That T-Team Van at the same location looked cool.
My husband and I just found this video. We are now subscribers, just up the road in Madisonville TN. Gonna follow and see how the Minnie Winnie turns out 🙂
Mopar elec. Ignitions are fine. They most commonly fail because of poor ground connections from the case to the body. Same as GM HEI, but the GM module is inside the cap, so less prone to corrosion.
I was watching this video and saw where the appliances and doors all had latches and pins to keep them closed. I saw some black nylon straps in a five pack for ten bucks that could keep them shut. They could be tucked away when not in use. BTW Happy Fathers day Josh. God bless and take care.
Always change your tires, steer especially. Former full time vintage RV owner. 76 Dodge RV, I believe newer Dodge dually wheels will bolt up, have to be coined, this will modernize the tire size. Cheers
Wouldn’t want to go too far in that thing. Maybe park it at the far end of the yard. That way when ya stay in it…seams like your far from home. It’s fun though ain’t it. My dad had that one, and I loved to watch, it brought back some wonderful memories. Thanks for sharing, it’s fun. May Jehovah bless you.
Ihad a 1976 Tioga. About the same length, 17 feet. Fiberglass, different layout and only 4 tires. Different (much better) layout. I loved it. Big block 318. 727 transmission. Never ever skipped a beat, never overheated even towing my boat up steep hills on 100 degree days. So easy to park, everything worked perfectly. Fridge died, but I got a brand new sanyo unit that fit perfectly. Had a 30 gallon fuel tank. Got 13 mpg at 60 mph.
@@Sleeperdude If after you fix it up, you're going to be astounded how much you can ask for it. Depending on the level of restoration, somewhere between six and ten grand. Small, easy to park and spacious fully self contained rvz are hard to find. I had mine for over ten years. Sold it about three years ago because I moved overseas. Got TRIPLE what I paid and kept it completely stock.
I'd use Type F if I could not find Dexron. Maybe even if I could. The Dexron you find today is less like Dexron II than the F is. Type F: Recommended in the Mopar Bible [factory performance bulletin] because, "It has a better friction coefficient."
I came across your other RV, the $1250 video series, and omg your sarcastic humor is spot on! I have not laughed so hard in my life, I was Raphie's age when my folks would rent Class A motorhomes and would do several cross country trips. The black water tank experience, electrical hookups, water was my job...oh my gosh there have been times when things just did not go right with the sewer hose...lmao! Watching this series, and just subscribed...
Consider yourselves lucky I've owned on for 1 year I've had to change multiple ignition parts got fed up and I went to hei setup mind you I drive mine cross country since changed over to hei no issues now for 2 thousand miles ....
Rocky is gorgeous. I can't believe you. I am laughing so hard at everything that's gone on from getting this to bring it home to opening up all of the doors and looking at it. You really believe you're totally going to restore this. I hope you do and I'd love to see it when you do that's a ton of work my friend. Thanks for your fun comments and your photography and the great video. Travel safely !
The Dodge Sportsman! - what a classic 70’s ride. You’ll be claiming the title “Matador of the Motorways” in that fine rolling chalet. If you don’t already have a CB handle - well, best be gettin to findin one!

You are cracking me up! 12:58 Had me LOL! I used to help my Dad wórk on his Van. It was a Ford. When he'd test drive it, the cover would be off. Watching your video is bring back find memories with Dad.
Thank you I’m so glad you enjoyed it .. more videos to come and we are definitely gonna Reno the camper soon .
This is so funny, I just saw a MinnieWinnie last week on the way home from work. It was really cute
That’s funny
Must be all that clean livin, that's why she started right up!
Hopefully
I just subscribed! I want to see your follow up restoration of the "Minnie Winnie"... The Dodge 360 is a great motor to work with. Great video.
We will definitely be working on another video soon
I had a 1974 Tradesman van with a 360, that I bought new. Most of the vehicles you work on I new someone that had one or remember when they were on the road. Makes me feel old😢
Don’t fell old. Just vintage !!
Thank You, that is not a Dodge grill on the camper 👍
As soon as I seen the goat I subscribed! Awesome video man! Again, that goat was freaking adorable.
Thanks Rocky is a good boy
Nice old camper. A real fixer upper. Alot of work ahead on that one. Good luck.
Yep thank you
That looks like the perfect candidate for a 12 valve and Dana 60.
Good idea
Yeah I have a lot of work to do to it thanks for watching
Famous last words, "I was on market place again. "
For sure
A fellow Volare owner.... You don't meet many of those. I had a '79, and it is my favorite car that i have ever owned. I loved that car. They don't get enough respect.
Yep I had a really nice 78 wagon if you look at my older videos
Definitely an interesting RV, the same living quarters I guess you would call it was offered on General Motors Van Body’s as well with a Chevy 350
That T-Team Van at the same location looked cool.
Thanks
thats because ford gm and mopar all used winabago the house part is all the same the chassis are different
My husband and I just found this video. We are now subscribers, just up the road in Madisonville TN. Gonna follow and see how the Minnie Winnie turns out 🙂
That’s awesome thank you
Mopar elec. Ignitions are fine. They most commonly fail because of poor ground connections from the case to the body. Same as GM HEI, but the GM module is inside the cap, so less prone to corrosion.
Ok great
I was watching this video and saw where the appliances and doors all had latches and pins to keep them closed. I saw some black nylon straps in a five pack for ten bucks that could keep them shut. They could be tucked away when not in use.
BTW Happy Fathers day Josh. God bless and take care.
Can’t beat a vintage dodge it’s a shame the genuine Chrysler Corporation is non existent now
Yes it is
Always change your tires, steer especially. Former full time vintage RV owner. 76 Dodge RV, I believe newer Dodge dually wheels will bolt up, have to be coined, this will modernize the tire size. Cheers
Ok thank you
Nothing like a backfire with the doghouse off to let you know you're alive!
It made me jump
Wouldn’t want to go too far in that thing. Maybe park it at the far end of the yard. That way when ya stay in it…seams like your far from home. It’s fun though ain’t it. My dad had that one, and I loved to watch, it brought back some wonderful memories. Thanks for sharing, it’s fun. May Jehovah bless you.
I plan on getting a road worthy where we can take it on long trips
Did you try starting it with the key switch again? Since it was in reverse the neutral safety switch might have kept it from cranking.
Yes I tried it it didn’t make any difference I have to chase the wiring
Ihad a 1976 Tioga. About the same length, 17 feet.
Fiberglass, different layout and only 4 tires.
Different (much better) layout. I loved it.
Big block 318. 727 transmission.
Never ever skipped a beat, never overheated even towing my boat up steep hills on 100 degree days.
So easy to park, everything worked perfectly.
Fridge died, but I got a brand new sanyo unit that fit perfectly.
Had a 30 gallon fuel tank. Got 13 mpg at 60 mph.
That’s cool
@@Sleeperdude
If after you fix it up, you're going to be astounded how much you can ask for it.
Depending on the level of restoration, somewhere between six and ten grand.
Small, easy to park and spacious fully self contained rvz are hard to find. I had mine for over ten years. Sold it about three years ago because I moved overseas. Got TRIPLE what I paid and kept it completely stock.
That’s good
Pro-tip: if you use non mopar specified atf, say goodbye to the trans
Okay thanks
Hey glad you like it thank you 😊
I had a good time just riding around the yard. Lets do it again.
More videos to come
I love that RV it is so cute .I would like to see when you and your son fix it up and make it nice again.

@@goclunker my truck is an 01 ram that I’m the second owner since 07. Not sure if that counts.
