I hate to tell you this, Chuck - but that actually IS a surgeon's knot. The only difference is that you're one of the rare peple who ties it properly. It's best done with hemostats/forceps (hence the name); I've been trying it with a latched rug hook but it doesn't really help. Orvis refers to this as a knot 'hack' but that's the way the knot was first designed.
This is not a surgeon's knot, and it is not a Bull Shit Infinity knot. it is a simple figure 8 tied in a fanciful BS way. beware! this is not the best choice for tippet to leader attachment.
Great tutorial. Straight to the point.

Nice vid, you should create one using coffee straws to demonstrate casting techniques :)
A very effective method, that is!
Can you tie a dropper to the tag?
Mark M. When I want to tie a dropper to the tag I go through the loop twice. I wouldn’t do it with just the regular infinity knot.
