    About us:
    We're Jack & Megan, and in late 2020 we sold our belongings and packed our lives into our 2005 Toyota Troop Carrier to travel Australia. Our original plan was to complete a full lap of Australia and return home to Perth to resume our 'normal' lives. We decided we wanted to document our lap for the future and began sharing weekly travel vlogs of our life on the road and fell in love vlogging, filmmaking and sharing our lives with you. We completed our first lap and couldn't imagine living any other way so we decided to continue travelling and calling the Troopy home. We have gone on some crazy adventures since then and it is all thanks to you tuning in to join us every week.

    if you have a vacuum sealer.... bag up pre greased bearings for car, trailers etc.... can also bag up a slab of grease.... easy to cut the corner of the bag and squeeze extra grease....

    Loved it again. The Gibb is on my one day dream list. Living through your vlogs is keeping me sane over here in Vic. I'd love to have red dust all over my vehicle and camper, rather than dust from it sitting in the shed😢. Catch you both next vid.

    Hey guys cheers from B.C. Canada. Tyre sizes, an issue down under for sure. An extra spare & or a inner tube, tyre irons, patch kit ect. and learn how to use them. Some bungee cords what of helpednthe dust issue withn the roof mate. Keep up the fun trip, good luck .

    We will be leaving Melb shortly for The Gibb and WA coast in mid July. I have watched dozens of Gibb RR videos over the last few months and yours is definitely one of the best. But for the love of god, learn how to use a chainsaw!! "Look how easy it goes through this hardwood" should be a clue to how it goes through arms and feet ....those safety thongs won't help. Keep up the good work :-)

    A lot of dust comes through the vents in the rear quarter panels, you should have your front vent open and not recirculating. And ensure you have a cabin filter for you front vent. You can tape the rear vents from the inside as the the robber flaps tend to stay open on older vehicles.

    recently found your channel and really enjoying your content, your've captured a very natural sense of travel and true overlanding, it feels like we are there with you on your journey. Did the Gibb River 14 years ago just as we were starting overloading, so brings back loads of memories, its an amazing place. The only thing you missed on this ep was the argument of scones and do you put jam on top of cream or cream on top of jam,.....ha ha .......stay real and look forward to next ep... !!

    Hi Guys, some lovely spots again, Megan's getting her Monies worth from that Pool Noodle, the Dust is a pain hey, if you can maintain positive air pressure inside, it helps heaps, one of those alloy wings like the old Kingswood Wagons had help, they direct air down over the back and disrupt the air lock formed behind the Car..

    Hello you two,
    to the lock of the roof.
    Can you secure the roof from inside with a lashing strap?
    Then you also have a little more contact pressure, no dust should get in.
    Our roof is closed inside with two lashing straps, nothing can break and from the outside no one can open the roof.
    Two more days and the rest of today!
    We will still change the clothes, in the north it has unfortunately already become quite cold.
    Yesterday we bought two sheepskins for the chairs, so that the butt is nice and warm.
    And a new lens for the Pentax, 70-200.
    After all, you don't afford yourself anything else.

    • @itsJackandMegan
      @itsJackandMegan  3 роки тому

      Hey mate no we cannot secure from inside definitely something that could be incorporated into the tent! Need to replace the latches they both ended up breaking!

  • @davewilson7313

    Jack , You should have changed the bearing outer cone , when You change the inner race , because they are matched pairs , also that old has worn just has bad has the inner race you are replacing ... If that old outer cone is damaged , it will wear out Your new replacement bearing in a very quick even with all that new grease is not going to help ....

    • @itsJackandMegan

    what!! $600 for a new Tyre !?? is that due to the remoteness of where you are ? I've use about 5-6 puncture repair plugs before too once you get it to seal and cut the excess off you can always use a bit of silicon/sikaflex glue to help seal the outter edges where it might be leaking .. I've had mine running with plugs in the sidewall for about 6years now . tyre pressures prob not that relevent just unlucky to happen .

    • @itsJackandMegan
      @itsJackandMegan  3 роки тому +1

      Yep and $75 to fit it as well and that was for a 265 size tyre! It would be due to the remote area we were in for sure. It was definitely bad luck getting the puncture.

  • @SUPERTRUCKER166

    Word of warning with using a chainsaw, they can cause some serious injuries if they kick, and a bit of timber in the eye isnt fun at all, its why wearing safety gear (enclosed shoes, safety glasses or faceshield) and using both hands to control the saw is pretty important, especially in remote areas where getting medical help can potentially take hours or days.

      Im not trying be nasty i subscribe to many sites and it just annoys me especially if im catching up with good vids like yours. Im west aussie so all your learning curves are mine too. Also to fix your tyre you need a big patch in side and melt the squidgy bits around the hole outside. Wheel bearings you need to "punch" the grease inside the race like Grease gun would do. After you done a good job the bearing should be unspinable and grease everywhere. Chokkers as it were.
