  • All about pallet forks and how useful they can be, but be sure to get the right ones! If you have a subcompact tractor, the lighter, the better.
    I use Redline Forks: www.redlinesystemsinc.com
Here's the link for the Jawboss as well: www.amazon.com...

I like the idea of using the cutoff top of the IBC tote as a cover for the wood 👍🏻. Thanks for sharing 🙂🙋🏼‍♂️👍🏻

Great advice , palletize as much as possible. "Work smarter, not harder",
I'm looking forward to the wall project videos.

Nice video. Watching you and your dad, reminded me of mine. Wish he were here to enjoy the tractor I got a few years ago.

Thank you! I spend as much time with him as he is able. He just turned 86 this April and he still helps us with projects. Thank you again for the wonderful compliment 🙏

I have the Titan forks. I didn’t know there was a lighter alternative. Thanks for the tip!

Kubota has a lightweight set of forks for the BX. Which is what I had ordered for my BX2680, but my dealer seemed to not be interested in ever providing them, so I called Messick's and ordered a set of Titan Implements forks for my BX, had them in 7 days...they work great. The actual Land Pride lightweight pallet forks are only 36" long, the Titan Implements forks are 42" long, which to me is a better length anyways especially for a full size pallet. A bit heavier but I'll take the extra weight with longer forks for a more stable pallet moving experience. You can get shorter or longer forks for the Titan Implements frame if I recall.

Nice vid. I got a BX 1880, so you just got aftermarket forks to attach to the QA loader ? What brand if you don’t mind ? Thanks !

They are Redline forks. Lightweight so they don't diminish your lift capacity. Made in USA.

If you palletize everything you will want a deck over trailer so you can access pallets from sides of trailer.

Very good advice on useful ways & very smart ways of using pallets! Having to only move those blocks & wood & whatever just Once until they are needed to placed, is working Smarter not Harder! Appreciate the Redline option too. We look forward to seeing all of these projects come together! Take care Sam!

Forks are almost my most used after market purchase but what I liked most about this video is how you had your Dad working with you. I'm 70 and my Son is 47 and loves to work with me whenever possible. I see way to often where the younger generation just lets the Old Man sit on the porch which would drive me crazy when we still want to be needed and not just taken care of.

Thank you so much for saying that! Sometimes I wonder if we push him too hard but he's a grown man and he will sit down and take a break whenever he needs to. We absolutely cherish his experience and expertise, plus I'm astounded that he still works as hard as he does at 86 years young ❤️

I've been palletizing everything I can as well, makes storage easier, and less carrying stuff around by hand. I have a couple of implements/attachments which are also on pallets. I use the scaffolding from Harbor Freight as shelving, I just build lower shelves for them so I can have 2 attachments or implements on each scaffold....not to mention it also gives me scaffolding if I ever need it I can simply take my attachments or implements off the scaffold and then put them back when done. The scaffold is adjustable for the upper shelf height so it accommodates pretty much any implement or attachment.
I also have the same Dewalt chainsaw, its nice to just throw a battery in it and bar oil and go and not have to deal with the gas/oil mix when doing light trimming chores.
They make smaller sized IBC totes, I'm thinking about picking up a few to store kindling in...the smaller totes are lighter weight of course so the BX will handle them much easier. Biggest issue with the BX is its size and weight, or lack of....it'll lift more than you think it can, but it will get pretty sketchy if you aren't careful and don't have enough ballast. I have a box blade on my BX most of the time, and can hang suitcase weights on the cross members of the box blade for additional ballast...I have to do that when I move my roto-tiller off the scaffold shelf, otherwise it gets a bit tipsy right fast.

Love the idea of using the Harbor Freight scaffolding!

@@samsdoinstuff I got the idea from Jon at A RITTER BIT WILL DO's channel, that's what he uses...pretty cheap storage solution that also doubles as their original intention of scaffolding if I need it, simple to take my attachments/implements off and roll it where I need it....I plan on picking up another one here in the near future so I can expand my storage solution, and once my shop gets reorganized this spring when the weather cooperates I'll have a ton more room. I like to keep my equipment inside out of the weather, right now my pallet forks and rear blade our sort of outside and I don't like that.
I am still waiting on the 60" mid mower for my tractor, so once that arrives I'll need a spot for it.
One note of caution, the scaffold has a flat surface and if not careful you will inevitably turn it into yet another collector of anything that needs to set on a flat surface, I know, I found that out quickly with my scaffold, it turned into the place my grease gun sat, lubricants, towels, etc.

Man those kubotas are weak. Picked up 14 80# bags with the Deere.

    • @samsdoinstuff
      @samsdoinstuff  2 роки тому

I may be wrong but TTWT said the Deere has shorter arms on the FEL. That gives it some mechanical advantage but not as much reach when dumping. Still, 1,120 lbs is very impressive!
