"for science!" hahaha.
"sharing the glass" depends on the group. usually exclusive to VERY close friends.
Exactly
It also includes everyone who happens to pass by.
The drunken master literally cleans up, throws away the garbage, washes the glasses and dishes, ferries his/her mates back home or tucks everyone to bed then goes to work at 5 in the morning.
Hero
Filipinos will not be offended if you request for your own glass. Just don't hoard the "pulutan"
You usually would just share a glass with friends or family.
The importance of the shared glass is to make sure everyone takes a shot, everyone should get drunk and wasted and spill their secrets and do embarassing things so you can laugh about it tommorrow
Thanks for sharing
"Sharing one glass" is done by only close friends and family, and this practice is done mostly in provinces, but in big cities, this is not usually done... I think this video is made for "fun" and this guy is a comedian and vlogger in the Philippines.
Thanks for the info!
Love this reaction...for any drinking session nowadays in the Philippines, it is okay to ask for a separate glass for yourself...and also it is common now that "inuman" (drinking) sessions are provided with separate glasses...Just tell the host or the "tanggero" that you need your own glass...the group will understand it.
Sweet. We're in
@@TouchyReactionsYeah.. I'm in. I'm waiting to invite you in my region Cagayan de Oro in Mindanao.
hope you enjoy the Philippines! see you guys around!
Thank you 😊 🙏
Yeah you have a choice having separate glasses , filipinos are very understanding that you are not used to the tradition, as long the celebration continous, no problem with that, enjoy to the maxx! hehehe
Thanks for the tips!
Hahahha in reality filipinos adjust to host the visitors. Its our culture to ask what they want to eat or drink.
Been in the southern Philippines 10 yrs . You will be given your own glass, you will get ice for your beer. Fork and spoon, no knife is silverware. If it is not soup, it's finger food.
Rice is the main dish, everything else is a condiment.
The Phils is a wonderful place. The people are poor. Most workers make 5 dollars for a 10hr day. Please don't bargain, tip everyone you can. They will be truly grateful.
Thank you Robert 😊 🙏
For a lot of drinking session, it's usually beer, everyone got their own bottle, so you'd be fine if you drink beer. For Gin and Rum, it's a shared glass for everyone. BUT if the group is kind of strangers, it's customary to not touch the glass with your lips, you just toss the liquid into your mouth. For close friends, you can go ahead and drink however you like.
That being said, a lot of people are also considerate if you're not into sharing glass and they will give you your separate glass. BUT, you still have to drink ONLY when it's your turn.
Thank you 😊
Tagay or using only one glass in a drinking session being passed around is an aged old tradition, it is usually used only between group of friends (close friends) and or family. If you are an outsider you can always request for your own personal glass. I personally also have an issue with that but with friends and family it is actually fun and crazy. I hope this will be of help to both of you, cheers! 🙂😜🇵🇭
Thanks for the info!
Do not worry, the sharing of glass is not compulsory, normally just happens between regulars
Good. Thanks
Can't wait to see your vlog in the philippines, regards from philippines, 🇵🇭❤
Thank you
Just a background on the guy and his Aussie accent. He's Bogart the Explorer (a dig on Dora the Explorer and a parody of Steve Irvin). I knew him as a drummer and a really funny guy. He actually did interviews with international artists using this persona.
Thanks for the help 🙂
Given the risk of covid, it would be safer to just have a separate glass or paper cup. Sane folk won't be offended. Do prep a budget for bottled water. Water here is generally safe to drink, but you might need to acclimate to it. Different areas will have water of varying... gastric acceptability. Better to go with bottled water if you're not staying for the long term. I hope you have a great stay. :)
Thanks for the help 🙂
i dont drink but i think filipinos will absolutely let you take your shots in your own glass, dont worry about it🙂
Thanks 😊
you can drink wine with your own cup theres nothing wrong with that and we respect it here in the philippines
It's okay to have your own glass Sir,as long as you drink within the group.
Nice
You dont have to worry, the sharing of the shot glass is the traditional way. But because of the onset of Covid, the same is already shun and drinking sessions nowadays are done with individual glasses or straight from the bottle of each.
Great news 👏
kampai is japanese word TAGAY is cheers in filipino
expect loads of culture shock when you come here. The transportation, the traffic, the people, and the culture and traditions itself, but yeah, welcome in advance guys!
Thank you 😊
There is rarely a problem with sharing a glass for people with the same tolerances and environment. As visitors however, I highly suggest against it.
Nahhh.. it's OK for you guys to have your own cup or glass during the drinking sessions. Filipinos are the most understanding people around. ..those one glass thing are for the hard core within the group drunkards only. .. no issues having your own glass.. not at all. 👍😁
Century tuna with red label = spicy variant + sky flakes . 👍
Yes sharing of glass in a drinking session is very common to a close knit group of family and/or friends😁 but not to everyone, not especially to guests. But if the guest pleases he may share too😊 in most cases the guests have their own glass each😄
Good to know!
Hahahaha thats all true!! 🎉😂 See you soon in manila lets go tagay
Can't wait!
a video of you both in a drinking session with the locals at a home party would be great....
Maybe we can
I refer myself as a Drunken master maybe the stamina to drink more liquor, ill drink morning till dawn without drunkenness.😂😂😂
Yikes.
It's ok to not share glasses guys, it will not offend the Filipinos, coz we are aware that foreigners don't like that kind of set up. So you're fine saying no to sharing glasses with us. 😊
Thank you 😊
1. We share the same glass in a drinking session
2. There will always be a singer. Or better if the entire drinking party are singers/musicians.
3. Oily food is a must.
4. Expect one that doesn't get drunk, one who gets drunk easily, the wild one, the runner and the story teller. Escape goats are rare.
5. There are some groups with drama actors/actresses, wherein they will complain about their exes when they get drunk.
6. Don't be shy when you're asked to sing when there's a videoke machine. It doesn't matter if you're out of tune.😉
PS
Bogart interviewed Hugh Jackman before for the movie Chappie, and Hugh was surprised of his accent. He also plays drums and even have videos that he jammed with some local anad foriegn rock artists.
Thank you so much for sharing all of this with us ❤️ 💕
They'd understand if you want a different glass to drink from unless they're all drunk as heck 😂
I am filipino 🇵🇭 and i love The Warning
Awesome, Awesome 👌
During the pandemic, a lot of tagayan participants were sent into isolation because one of the participants became positive. To prevent any further complications that the government had to ban the selling of alcoholic drinks
Some of his claims were exaggerations though...i think he said those just to spice up his presentations😊
Dont worry after covid tagay is no more.tagay means acceptance to the group,a welcome to the family, even an invitation to be a brother from another parents.the worst thing, the most disres0ect you can do is ask for your own glass.but like i said, tagay is done
Thanks for sharing.
They will be considerate to you especially that you’re foreigners. You need not share a glass. Of course if you explain yourself in a nice way, they will gladly accomodate your request
Thanks for the tips!
Don't worry COVID won't survive in alcohol. Hahaha... Excited to see you vlogging in the Philippines. Stay safe always
Thank you 😊
Pulutan tips (food to order):
Lumpiang Shanghai
Dynamite (spicy version of Lumpiang Shanghai)
Lechon Kawali
Tokwa at baboy (fried tofu and pork)
Yummy
it really depends on the drink or where you guys are dringking. it's optional. if your not in to it, it will not be imposed. usually with very close friends.
I love their pulutan,,,,mostly meat like adobo,paklay,,,etc..
Hi Fellas, I am from the Philippines. I started watching your videos when you start the "Welcome to Wrexham" reaction. Anyway If you guys go to Davao City, it's part of Mindanao state it's in the southern area of the Philippines, If in case you have some plans to visit Davao, let me know and we will be glad to be your host here and act as your tour guide. It would be amazing to meet you such awesome people.
We might take you up on that.
@@TouchyReactions Looking forward to it. In case you need any of my information if you want to contact me please let me know. Our family will be glad to host you if you are in Davao.
@@cjjane12 thanks
if you go here in philippines its nice to travel in january to may because less chance of typhoon
Thanks for the help 🙂
New subscriber here from Cebu City PH!
Before you join a group for a tagay session, it's a must to ask if everyone had their booster shots. 🤣
That's a great idea!
As a native filipino buy hard alcohol if it is in manila buy gin if it is mindanao buy tanduay cuz in manila loves gin mostly while in the southern part like hard the most cuz tanduay has 80% content and if u want another glass for u only just ask everybody is it okay to have another glass cuz...(your reason even its a lie just have a reason) and they will respect it and happy for u asking for that so that they will know your part
Thank you 😊
Sometimes we use two glasses
you dont need to share glasses, there is a version you keep your own glass
Good
this is fun hahahaha
In drinking with people you just met or people you don't know, it's fine to have your own glass. Most of the time, if a foreigner passes by a group of people doing tagay, they WILL hand you a glass (same glass they were drinking on), you can politely decline by making a made up yet valid reason not to drink. 😅
Thank you 😊
what a Lovely couple ❤🇵🇭
Thank you 😊
Just like in all parts of the world, there's good and evil.
Beauty and ugly.
Philippines is not perfect.
You will see many imperfections and also compare it to other countries and even your own country.
While it's imperfect, I wish you both see goodness and beauty in other ways you couldn't imagine.
Patience is the key here and being able to adapt.
Enjoy your visit, and always be careful.
Thank you 😊
For science, social science.
That guys name is Marco Ho, better known as Bogart The Explorer..
Must say, alcohol here is truly cheap for you, it costs like 2 bucks for a jumbo red horse 😁
Nice
❤
pls. react to bini cherry on top 🎉
I just want to clarify the correct meaning of cheers in:
●Tagalog🇵🇭: Tagay!
●Japanese🇯🇵: 乾杯 (Kanpai!)
●Korean🇰🇷: 건배 (Geonbae!)
Thanks for the help 🙂
Not all Filipino are desame me i dont want to use others utensils plate, cup, spoons even in our family we have our own cups.

eyy my boy is flexing sb19 cap
A'tin in the house
It's signed by Stell, Ken, and Josh.
Have you gone here yet guys?
No, next year
Nice❤❤😂
tagay hanggang mamatay
one the things I saw drinking with Pilipinos I am not saying it is bad, some people start dancing and touch each other.
Lol, good to know.
This guide is commonly done for hard drinks or mixed drinks. Beer ,on ther other hand, will not apply this russian covid roulette.
To be safe, just say "I'll go for beers"😂
Thanks for the tips.
For me as filipino i wont recommend to foreigners use a common glass because its to dangerous.
Thanks
No big deal. You may request for your own glass.
Thank you 😊
👍👍🏾👍🏼😘🇵🇭🙏
That's only for content, his a vloggers
Pleas vlog all your adventures in the Philippines. It would be even better if you hire a local Filipino videographer so that you can enjoy experiencing everything that the Philippines has to offer without holding the camera in one hand. ^_^ But whatever the case may be, I will most certainly watch your Philippines adventure vlogs!
