1. Beware of scammers. Like any other countries, we have our share of bad apples. Connect with Pinoys you already know for quite some time. 2. Learn the culture first to minimize culture shocks. 3. Get your shots (consult your doctor) if you plan on going to the diff islands of the Phils. 4. Keep an open mind. 😊 Places to visit: 1. BGC - for the citified experience 2. Siargao and Palawan - for the island experience. Siargao is like 75% populated by tourists from all parts of the world and has that typical tourists night life vibe. And Palawan has the most beautiful places to visit. 3 weeks is not enough to enjoy our country. 😊 But welcome to our beautiful country!🇵🇭❤
To add: beware of airport taxi most of them is scammers they will friendly to you specially if you are foreigner but in the middle of the road they will ask you a higher price. if you want to ride a taxi just download “Grab” to your phone it’s like an “Uber” it is the safest way to travel inside Manila. And if you are in island like Palawan or Siargao renting scooter is the best way to enjoy scenery
Yes, most people speak English. Its the primary language in schools in the Philippines 😊 Visit Cebu, Bohol, Palawan for the pristine beaches and Makati/ BGC for a more urban city life.
Filipinos are very welcoming people, they love seeing foreigners enjoying their country. They are attached to American culture so you will certainly feel at home. Plus Filipinos are very family-oriented, they give importance to family relationships and values. For sure you will instantly have a family away from home.
English is our 2nd language and is used by our government for all public documents, forms, signs (traffic, etc.). 90+% can speak English, of course, in different proficiency levels depending on their education and exposure. English is taught academically as part of the curriculum from grade school to college😁
@@FUNNYANDCUTEANIMALS26why would you say that OP is arrogant? OP is only answering the question asked at around 13:00 of the video. Did you even watch the video before typing this?
English is not the second language but the Philippines' official language and also it is the unifying language for many Filipinos don't speak Tagalog. . .
Guys, been to the Philippines several times. Absolutely more affordable than U.S. Your money will go very far. Customer service is number one and you can make lifelong friends. Food is one of the biggest draw, lots of variety and unique foods. Downside, there are definitely scammers and pick pockets, so be extra careful. Lodging affordable depending on how picky you are but the more expensive the more luxurious. Poverty is sad, there are obvious distinctions. Food, be careful what you eat, they are not known to waste so better to ask before indulging. Oh, and traffic is atrocious in the city. Probably wouldn’t move there, but an awesome destination for visitors. You’ll be glad you made it there. Also the Filipino artists are known to meet with reactors who frequently react to Filipinos, such as yourselves. so see if you can arrange to meet Morisette, Katrina and Budakhel, KZ and so forth. Very accommodating and cordial folks. Best wishes. Don’t forget to vlog.
If you stay here for about a month. Definitely go to the ff if it's just 3 weeks: Metro Manila - stay in Ayala or BGC for a bit of luxury living (can get a bit more expensive than what was in the video but you can find a lot of vloggers give tips) most events happen in Manila too so you might be able to catch one of SB19 members' events while there. Palawan Boracay or Siargao Also not everyone is fluent but most Filipinos are conversational. We can defintely help you with directions at the very least. But in the places I listed above, almost everyone can speak English.
@@TouchyReactionsAlso, the best time to visit is from Jan to Feb when weather is mild and cool and in between 2 peak seasons, the holidays and the start of summer (March) so airfare is reasonable.
Yes, you don’t need to worry about how you communicate once you are there. Almost everybody speaks English, some better than others, but inn general, good enough to converse with you.
To add: all of the sign board in airport, road, hotel, mall, restaurant, menu, advertisement etc. are in English so yeah you don’t have to worry you will not get lost in the Philippines even if you don’t know how to speak tagalog but you should know how to say “Salamat po”( while nodding) it means “thank you” it represents respectful gestures to Filipino.
I'm a Filipino inviting you to visit my beloved country the Philippines to enjoy and have fun in your life...many foreigners want to stay longer or want to become a Filipino citizens...
for city i would recomend in manila you can do these: BGC - for super modern city vibes, American cemetery for WWII fallen soldiers Binondo (oldest china town in the world), Mall of Asia or mega mall - 2 of the largest malls in the world intramuros, manila cathedral and san agustin church, quiapo church, national museum and rizal park (for historical and cultural tour) Corregidor island - WWII history for island and nature from the northern part to south of the philippines Batanes - stunning landscape road less traveled vigan city - Spanish style city baguio and banawe rice terraces- colder temperature summer capital of the ph tagaytay and Taal volcano (bulalo soup and the smallest volcano) bicol and mayon volcano (most symmetrical cone shaped volcano in the world) palawan(puerto princesa, Coron, el nido) - beaches and nature Boracay island - beast beach and night life Bohol (chocolate hills) beach and nature tours, Tarsier (smallest primate) Cebu (food, beach, swimming with whale sharks, falls etc) siargao - surfing davao city - if best place for trying fruits
This suits his age and lifestyle living in Angeles but i think moving to Cebu City, Iloilo City, Baguio City, Davao City, Cagayan de Oro are good alternatives. For guys like you the most ideal is Cebu City coz the provincevof Cebu offers so many aminities to Expats and no other province in the Ph can beat. Its competes Manila in economic activity, city development or modernity. It will soon be the next Singapore. And his had a very apeealing rusticity.
It is cheaper to live in the Philippines due to the conversion. The only problem really is the traffic, but if you will stay within the vicinity of where you live then you don't need a car to get around because there's grab like (uber) or taxi. Stay in Makati or BGC. All the services like laundry, cleaning, nail, and hair care are the cheapest. Also, massage and facial spa are pretty cheap. So yes retiring in the Philippines are very much encouraged. English is spoken everywhere you go all the signs are in English. Lastly the people are hospitable and will treat you like family once they've known you as a neighbor. So many expats live in the Philippines.
I've lived here 17 years . I live in Angeles City where he lives . I can tell youa few different subjects that he didn't talk about things like Health Care . He didn't talk about different vista's. I have a permanent residenc e visa. If you want other information I would be happy to help
A very interesting reaction video, different from the norm…pretty neat that you’re planning to go there! Thanks for making these videos as part of the process…it will be that much more fun for us viewers to watch any content you make while you’re there! Looking forward to seeing vacation videos in the future.
I hope so too! Hey, new song suggestion for your list…just released 5 hours ago. (I know Cindy likes that deep bass sound and this has 3 amazing bass singers.) Look up “Jonathan Young. Hoist the Colours.” (Bobby and Colm are the other 2). My new favourite version of this song. Before hearing this version Voiceplay held first place.
You mentioned going there in the summer of 2025.I would reconsider going there in the summer time of either countries. April & May are typically the hottest months( too hot & humid) and June is the beginning of the rainy season. I think the ideal months are from Nov. through Feb. (warm enough for shorts, t-shirts & flip flops but not too hot )Here’s a couple of bonuses going there during that time. Christmas starts in Sept in the Philippines (love it!) and if you happen to be in Manila on New Year’s Eve, I would stay at a hotel room several floors up and witness the fire works display that’s on another level & not done anywhere else in the world. Good luck & enjoy
baguio , siargao, dumaguete, bohol, palawan, bgc, cebu, batanes, boracay , and siquijor are the popular destinations... but where ever you go....the smiles and warmth of the filipino people will always be there...and make your trip a memorable one. if you want to avoid the tourists...you can go to off beaten path and visit the neighboring cities or towns of your destinations... philippines is a world within a world.....with different dialects and cultures..
Actually Luzon area is being underrated. Lucy and George can attest to that. Mike and Nelly at one point have enjoyed the upper Northern provinces. Yes 3 weeks would be just an initiation period for first timer😊.
In Manila you should stay in places like BGC or Makati, it is quite pricey but worthied because you are surrounded by restaurants/cafe etc./easy access. If you go to Palawan , Coron, Bohol, Boracay make sure you are picked up by the hotel van because riding tricycle is so tight or not spacious. Having a legit local guide is highly recommended.
For me if you want to do more with your dollars don't stay on expensive places like condo but instead look for a fully furnished house that cost for 300 to 400 dollars a month if you are planning to stay longer here or an apartment this man rented.
@@TouchyReactionsi'd been in Boracay. I exhausted 22kpesos and we are 8 in the family. That's pricey for me hahahah we stayed almost 4 days in the Island. One of the most beautiful Island in the country. I hope, I can go to Palawan especially Corona nd El Nido, in Bohol, in Cebu, In Davao, in Zamboanga City, in Iloilo, in Camiguin, in Siquijor, in Bicol region, in Batanes. Hahaha Inlove my country anyway. ❤
Totally agree with you, Nov to Feb is the best time to visit the PH, the rest is too hot & humid & if you are coming from the cold places like US you may not tolerate the heat so much.
NOTE: This video is in 2021, and Nate's living in Angeles, so he probably uses Converge Fiber-X. At that time, the speed is 50 Mbps, but now it has been quadrupled (200 Mbps) with the same price of only P1499 ($27) a month.
We have some SB19 reactors who will be coming here in the Phils. I hope you could do a meet and greet with them along with other A'tin. That will be fun and awesome seeing my favorite reactors.
I like both your honest and positive reaction to that video. Language barrier is no much of a problem since english is very much a part of everyday conversation. That rice terraces you admired is up north which is the cooller part of the country. Welcome to out country in advance! God bless you.
Nowadays, its relatively safe all over the country. There is no more threat from the islamists and separatists. From the airports, choose cabs authorized by the airports to avoid scammers. When in trouble don't hesitate to ask assistance from policemen and locals who are always willing to help you. I traveled Sri Lanka and India. Travelling the Philippines is more costly probably because it offers so many things to do. Night life is vibrant and so many entertainment places to choose from. If you come, never miss Boracay.
Anywhere. You. Go to the. Philipines. You will. Feel. Totally. Hospitable it. Just. They treat you like their. Extende family. Even. You. Dont. Know. Each. Other. ❤❤❤❤
Palawan must be #1 on your list if you love the beaches, white sand beaches. While in Palawan, you don't want to miss going on Puerto Princesa City tour, you can also enjoy our food, then go out of town to El Nido to enjoy the beaches and Coron, another beach destination...
You are exaggerating. Yes Philippines is one of asian countries who uses english as a way to communicate but to say 99.9℅ of filipinos speak english is far fetched.
@@tdss599i would say 70 to 80 percent. I live in Makati, and I'm originally from Bicol..there are still many who can't speak English, not even constructing a simple sentence. 90 percent is an exaggeration.
I am Filipino and first experienced North America as a teenager when our whole family transferred to the Big Apple. I did get to go back to the Philippines later and experience the tourist spots on my own. Life in the Philippines is less expensive than the U.S., that I can say. I suggest that, just to have a visual preview of the Philippines, you watch the Video “ Wake Up in the Philippines”. Most Probably your plane will land in Manila and there is a lot of nightlife in the Makati and BGC areas of Manila. Just in case you would like to experience nature while you stay within a city, There is Tagaytay City, (cooler climate), about 2 hours drive from Manila. Another choice while still staying in the island of Luzon is the city of Baguio, (elevation 5,050 feet)originally established by the U.S. as a hill station, in 1900, when the country was still the Philippine Islands, U.S.A. Well, you also said you are more into beaches and bars and not the “Wild areas”. The world famous Boracay has both the beaches and bars, expect that there will be a lot of tourists AND since, according to the Philippine Statistics office, there are several hundred thousand expats in the Philippines, also a lot of expats. There are many beaches all over the Philippines, two of the more famous beaches are on the island of Palawan, El Nido and Coron. Just trying to give some information here.
In 3 Islands of the Philippines…If you want to go Vizayas, you go Cebu, Iloilo, or in Negros-Dumaguete. You can visit Siquijor, Boracay, Camiguin, Palawan if you fond of beaches.
For 3 weeks vacation, have a stop of 1-2 days in Metro Manila area before you head to islands. Stay in BGC or Makati or MOA mall area. A lot of hotel and airbnb selections. And also close enough to airport. There are American food/restaurants all over but try the local restaurants as they can offer a version of American food that can be for your liking. Head to islands of choice like Boracay, Palawan (remember SLMT MV? It was shoot in that area), Bohol or Cebu. When in the islands, you can never go wrong in their grilled food selections. Don’t miss the Mango, Coconut and Calamansi(Philippine lemon) juices while there too. Always give a day of rest after each area before you head to another one. It kind of save some cramming stress and give you guys a rest. You can see 2 south of Philippines beach area. If time will still allow, you can visit good areas close to Metro Manila. 2-3 hours max. travel to Tagaytay for views and food or Batangas which also have beaches. Or spend 4 days maximum including travel to Baguio and Benguet (Justin’s Sunday morning and greenery scene of Surreal). Best time to come Mid-October to start of March where a lot of happenings can occur. You may even catch SB19’s concert at that time. Rainy/monsoon season is a big no-no. Mid-march to start of June is their Summer. Ok to come but heat and humidity is notorious to make you get sick. Excited for you guys if this will happen.
July is rainy season, you will get stuck at home. May and June is ok but the best is October to February. To experience New Year’s Eve, specially in Manila is fire! Welcome
Pick one of each category - Tourist hotspots: El Nido Palawan, Boracay or Siargao Metro living: Metro Cebu, Davao or Baguio Rural living: Any town or city celebrating fiesta or festival
People in PHILS. can speak a descent english. You don't need to learn tagalog to be able to communicate. Just come as friendly as you are. ♥ But learning tagalog one or two won't hurt. :)
Been to Philiippines several times. There is an attendant for gas. Slow internet, Phones are chargeable. Tourist can stay for 29 days but extension up to 90 day. Many government agencies are in the mall or close to tourist spots. Now if you are a previous Filipino, they get 1 year visa. Basically, do your shopping while you wait. Rental costs can be from 300 to 800 dollars per month. Food cost is about 20 bucks per day/person. Transportation are from 10 to 15 bucks a day or depends on your travel. Utilities, he already explained but add some 20% sometimes. To live off good, 2,000 to 3000 bucks a months that includes your medical insurance.
Here are my 3 week fun trip to the Philippines: 1. BORACAY, stay at Aira Hotel. Quiet beachfront location with no crowds. 2. ALONA BEACH, PANGLAO, BOHOL. Stay at Henann Resort at Alona. 3. SIARGAO ISLAND. Stay at Hotel 101. However, you can also make a side trip to EL NIDO or CORON in Palawan
Not all can speak English as we have 160 plus dialect (local language) here in the Philippines. But English is our second language as it has been in our academic curriculum since Kindergarten. So we definitely can communicate in English. But, Again not all.
Definitely go for Coron, Palawan for unspoiled, pristine clear water. For city living, stay in BGC short for Bonifacio Global City. I also recommend you go to Cebu City to experience island hopping adventure (about 3-4 islands with stopover and lunch on the boat). It has several tourist spots and mountain resorts and restaurants to choose from. Just get a good guide so everything will be smooth without any glitches along the trip. thanks, Ryan and Cindy from a Mori fan in the Philippines ❤
Filipino and English is our official languages, some may have difficulties in speaking English fluently but almost everyone can understand you, just speak slowly as some are not used to your accent. but they will surely be able to communicate in english
if youre in manila and you ride a taxi, if he gives you a fixed rate for the ride, either counter the price into half or ask for meter only. simcards in airports are pricey. buy in a mall instead and let them teach you how to "load data" if youre ok with long distance travel, cebu is a great location. you get beaches in moalboal, whales in oslob and canyoneering in badian. a boat ride across is bohol where the chocolate hills are located and danao adventure park (where the plunge is located) also close in cebu is what most people's bucketlist is located, which is skydiving. it is located in the bantayan islands. from the cebu bus terminal, ride 4hours to hagnaya port and ferry boat to santa fe. if youre into just hanging in 1 spot for a week, siargao where the island life can be most feel by foreigners. you could just surf the whole week away. ... or boracay which is the place to be. boracay can be a bit more crowded and pricey though but its was once voted #1 place to go to in philippines.
If you have traveled then you won't mind the difference you will encounter as "The Learning Curve" is huge in finding things you want or like as everything takes longer and slight "project" but enjoy the journey. You may find 4 weeks is too short and get apps when you land of Maze for maps, Food Panda and Grab for rides then have 2 or 3 ways to transfer money. Angeles city and BGC are most American verses other places as many will list tourist destination and will depend on what you want to do and see. Motorcycle is best to see the most as only cities have trikes or taxi best is to ask a couple of locals especially hotel or Airbnb folks as They know where to go and nothing is like google in US as most inaccurate. 7461 islands so lots to choose and i have been several times and traveled many islands on Honda PCX and will retire in Dumaguete with Girlfriend i met on 2nd trip a sleepy town like midwest USA and a good jump off point with ferries and small airport. Also look at bad side so things don't offend you and careful of some street food but 90% are great and Sari Sari stores are helpful and deals at Ukay Ukay stores. Enjoy and if like me you fall in Love then you might be expats like Us too💕🏍😎
In the Philippines English is like the second laguage. English is part of the School curriculum from nursery, kindergarten and High School. So when you're in College everyone is very english literate. Probably started when USA acquired the Philippines from Spain in 1898.😊
Your choice of Palawan is great, my family in my mother's side is from Culion which another island in Palawan after Coron. Place to avoid is where I am from Manila because of the heavy traffic, another one is Makati. (depends on you if you wanted to experience city life but the traffic is the worst). A lot of other Expats and foreigners enjoy Cebu, Boracay, and Siargao. You do not need to worry about the language barrier because a lot of people around can speak in English, some may reply in broken English but you will still get the idea and thought. Hope you will have a safe trip and enjoy staying in our country.
English language is taught in schools here. So only those who weren’t able to go to school may not know how to speak but they mostly somehow understand common basic English words. You just have to avoid certain parts in Mindanao but no foreigners actually go there because those are remote areas. You can ask your subs anything you want to know so you will be guided. And of course, anywhere else in this world there will be scammers. So just be cautious with them.
It depends what are you going to do? High end, medium, or regular. Vacation for a month for one at least I spend 5k. High end living style. Three weeks, Palawan, Bohol, cebu.
I was in Israel for 5 years and in Canada for almost 16 years. I came back to the Philippines in February 2024 after 20 years. I took with me $9,000 USD. I spent less than $6,000 USD. We even went to Boracay for 2 days and 2 nights. I spent on eating at restaurants and buying clothes.
Hello, Ryan and Cindy. Glad to know you're gonna be visiting the Philippines! 🇵🇭🥰 For the places, I recommend you stay in Metro Manila, particularly in Makati City or Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig City, it's the urban capital where there's a lot of amenities and convenience for you. From there, you can then visit the capital Manila to see a lot of historical significance. Then, go to Palawan, as you've mentioned, to enjoy the countryside and also beaches and resorts. You may also want to visit Boracay, which is a popular destination for beach-goers, and also visit Baguio City, the "summer capital" of the Philippines. As for the timing of your visit, I would suggest between the months of December and March when the weather is generally fine and cool, because it might get "too warm" for you from April and May, while it may be inconvenient during the rainy season, usually June till November, unless you want to experience some typhoons (I think you call it hurricanes in the US). English is widely spoken, it's actually one of the official languages aside from Filipino, so you shouldn't have to worry about that. It will be better though if you learn to say a few Filipino words, like "Salamat" (Thank You), "Kumusta" (How Are You), etc. as you'll see Filipinos are surprised and delighted to hear foreigners speak Tagalog. Filipinos in general are friendly, kind, approachable, accommodating, humble, happy and always smiling or laughing. But like in any other place or country, don't let your guard down and always take care of your belongings. Hope you will enjoy your visit to our country, and get the chance to meet the people who you have been reacting to like Morissette, SB19, and many others. The cost of living is quite affordable as per Western standards as we have seen in this video, because the exchange rate is somewhere in Php50 to $1. So, we wish you the best of luck and may you have a safe, happy and memorable visit to our country. 🇵🇭🥰
Thanks Ronald. My wife is a school teacher, so the only time we can get 20+ days off in a row is during our summer vacation in June and July. Which it sounds like, from you, might be the worst time to visit.
Hello, I live in California and I’m thinking of going to Philippines 2025. Who knows I might bump into you guys. Just a heads up… Where ever you go, You need to be Careful. Take Care, and Good Luck. Love Your Show‼️
Yeah, our 2nd language here in Philippines is English, during work or school we spoke English, if i talking to my local friend neighbors we use Tagalog, Tagalog language is not pure Tagalog mix Spanish word's, TAGLISH it means Tagalog & English mix also Spanish words. We have a lots of spoken language here in Philippines, we used Tagalog that we Filipinos can communicate each other. 👍🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Im so excited for you . Most of the people in the Phils understand and speak English. We are using English books/textbooks from nursery to college so you can talk to even small kids in English. 😍😍😍

I absolutely love the Philippines! English only will be fine, especially in the cities. There may be a few provincial areas that may be a challenge with English, but mostly are in Mindanao from my experience. Ingat po! Oh! Jollibee burger steak and pancakes...amazing! Yes, attendants are at the gas pumps. Food delivery app, you'll need a local sim/phone number.
Spend days but choose what city, municipality that suits your taste from Luzon,Visayas and mindanao.if in Visayas choose Boracay municipality of caticlan good beach,if Mindanao choose Palawan, camiguin if Luzon choose Batangas if like staying at the beach and do your little shopping anywhere in Luzon where you can find big malls, even in Visayas you can find big malls and Mindanao you can find big malls hope you will enjoy the foods and people of our country good luck.
3 of the most beautiful places i'll be recommending in our most welcoming country is PALAWAN, BORACAY &SIARGAO it is so beautiful and amazing places you should consider on your trip thats all thank you ❤️🩹 and yes english is our second language even small kids can communicate english thats for sure.✔️✔️✔️
most of the filipinos do speak english, but if you are going here in the Philippines make sure that you have a friend or friend of a friend who can guide you so that you will not be scammed, dont show a lot of money most especially in public places. dont keep your money in the hotel volts just for precautions. dont be cultured shock when you come, make sure that you have your iterinary already
If you spend a week in Manila. BGC(Bonifacio Global City or Makati City are best places to stay. And don't miss to go and visit the country side where you can enjoy our beautiful sceneries if beaches, Islands and valleys. If you want an Island/beach resort to stay. The BORACAY BEACH, the EL NIDO Island in PALAWAN, the CORON Island in PALAWAN, the Camarines Sur Island and beaches are the best.
@@TouchyReactionsIf you want an island adventure. The Boracay beach island resort(name the city life you want and you have it in Boracay Island😊) the EL NIDO ISLAND in Palawan, the Coron Island in Palawan, the Camarines Sur beaches and Island resorts, the Underground River in Palawan(where you can see Stalactites and Stalagmites of crystal formations). Thank you for considering to visit our humble beautiful country.
Aside from Filipino subject, all our textbooks are written in English starting from kindergarten thru college. The national college entrance examination questionnaires are all in English; thus, the English language is a mandatory part of our education.
He is in Angeles City which is an Expat haven. It used to be an American base hence the infrastructure is a little bit more modern than most city outside of Metro Manila and Cebu City.
Best time to go to Philippines is February to early March. It's not too hot and not rainny😊. El Nido and Coron is stunning! I would suggest to always bring some medications for stomach ache etc with you, just in case. There's a lot of poverty there so don't be surprised.
I am an American and have lived in the Philippines for 5 years. I am currently 70 years of age. A lot of people here speak English. I don't speak Tagalog and I get by fine. I have a Filipina girlfriend and she translates for me when it is needed but I go places alone with no problem. You should understand that in Tagalog, the emphasis is usually on the second syllable unlike English that usually emphasizes the first syllable. Rent and utilities are cheap here. Food is cheap unless you buy a lot of American items. Potatoes are very expensive because they are imported. Public transportation is readily available so you do not need a vehicle. Driving here is really crazy so I would not consider having a car. My expenses are about $800 per month. I am on a tourist visa and they require me to exit the country every 3 years. Good places to visit include Cebu, Tacloban and of course Manila. Manila is a huge, crowded city but you need to experience it one time to appreciate the life in the Philippines. I have visited Vigan which is a popular tourist place because they have a lot of Spanish architecture. There are beaches everywhere because this is an island nation. Palawan and Boracay are the famous ones (expensive) but I have not been to either one. I live in Sta. Maria, Bulacan which is peaceful and mostly quiet. I pay $700 per year for Philhealth which is the national insurance but it mostly used for hospital stays. I visit a neurologist every 3 months and that costs $7 per visit. I have a significant list of medications and I spend about $120 per month for meds. The guy mentioned Jollibee, it is very popular but I don't like most of their menu items. I like Mang Inasal which is all over the Philippines and was rated by one critic as the 5th best chicken restaurant in the world! You need to try that at least once while you are here. You should also check out another vlogger whose is on UA-cam and his channel is called "Life Beyond the Sea." He has lived in the Philippines for more than 10 years and has created hundreds of videos to help people learn about living here. I learned a lot from him before I came here. You can message me for more information if you like.
Every body speaks English because remember Americans colonize the Philippines for 48 years so it’s very Americanize. A lot of my foreign friends retired in 😂Philippines and some of my Relatives and my brother who retired from the US Navy now enjoying his retirement. So basically your Dollars will be X 50 it’s a lot so why don’t you try. Main thing is the house and lot. In California you cannot buy a 2 bedroom for about $550K but in the Philippines your $200 Thousand will be a very nice home and it’s brand new. Well you guys take care🇵🇭🇺🇸 and I heard that you like Karaoke well you’re in the right place because Filipino is the one who invented the Karaoke and modified in Japan well you gonna love it ❤
Beaches to recommend for locals and foreigners: CORON / EL NIDO - Palawan island; GENERAL LUNA / PILAR / ALEGRIA - Siargao island; BORACAY BEACH. (These islands are not close to one another). Don't worry about asking directions around when you landed in the Philippines, try asking people when you arrived and wave like you want to do.... try Jollibee as well it's all over the Philippines, give us your honest opinion.
Stay for a week in manila and explore the old and the new. Then go to the provinces. If you like beaches then go to palawan or the visayas. We also have beaches in Luzon and you can also go to Baguio City and nearby places like Banaue and Sagada for a cooler climate.
2,000 USD is acceptable in the provinces not in Metro Manila. Also for a family of 3 comfortable living is at 100,000 up. Just make sure you have a good health insurance, the healthcare in the city is too expensive but cheaper still in comparison there.
1. Eat at local restaurants for breakfast and lunch. 2. Everyone speaks English, if they don’t, you are in the wrong place. 3. Try the different fruits. Santol, jackfruit or Durian (good luck with the last one) 4. Boracay is a beautiful beach area. Don’t get used to all the compliments, when you get back home, you’ll be depressed. 5. It’s hot. Florida is like a 7, Philippines is a 10. When you get off the plane, you’ll either be miserable or love it. 6. Don’t go during monsoon season
From what I've heard from you guys, it sounds like BGC is the place to be. That's where a lot of American and British families and other expats basically live and retire. It's very family friendly even at night. That's where I want to retire. Makati is another great place where both locals and foreigners go to for whatever they wanna do. You already mentioned Palawan and I personally love Coron so that's a great choice. Boracay is another popular and more commercialised and busier version of Coron. The Philippines is generally a safe place. You have a lot of foreigners even solo female travellers going into the ghetto places such as Tondo, to film and they still only say good things about it. People are generally friendly because the locals do like foreigners. And even though education is limited to some, they are still not stupid enough to commit senseless crimes. The most you'd probably encounter are just people trying to hustle or scam you with inflated prices. Which is the case in every country when it comes to tourists. English is also the 2nd language so I wouldn't worry too much about the communication barrier. I'm Filipino but I spoke zero tagalog everytime I go there. You guys will be just fine. If you really wanna play it safe, just go to Luzon, Visayas, but I'd skip going down south to the Mindanao region, cause that's muslim territory. Sure they're not arab muslims, but still muslims so, use your own discretion. I recommend you guys look up the lovely American family channel on here called 'Live the Philippines'. They're very informative and might give you more information about what you're lookin for.
Places to visit:
1. BGC - for the citified experience
Thank you so much 💓 💗
Yes, for foreigners or filipinos living outside phils, cost of living here is cheaper. Welcoming you❤. Hope you interact with sb19 ppop boy band❤
@tiagofilms421 thanks for the help

Thank you for considering Philippines as your tourist destination.
Yes, most people speak English. Its the primary language in schools in the Philippines 😊 Visit Cebu, Bohol, Palawan for the pristine beaches and Makati/ BGC for a more urban city life.
Thanks for the tips!
Filipinos are very welcoming people, they love seeing foreigners enjoying their country. They are attached to American culture so you will certainly feel at home. Plus Filipinos are very family-oriented, they give importance to family relationships and values. For sure you will instantly have a family away from home.
10 years for me and that's my experience too you are 100 % correct .
English is our 2nd language and is used by our government for all public documents, forms, signs (traffic, etc.). 90+% can speak English, of course, in different proficiency levels depending on their education and exposure. English is taught academically as part of the curriculum from grade school to college😁
Even children in elementary grades can speak and understand english. Welcome to the Philippines sir and madam.💘💘💘
Thank you! 😃
English is our second language.
you're so arrogant btw
@@FUNNYANDCUTEANIMALS26Wondering...whats wrong with that comment..😮
@@FUNNYANDCUTEANIMALS26why would you say that OP is arrogant? OP is only answering the question asked at around 13:00 of the video. Did you even watch the video before typing this?
English is not the second language but the Philippines' official language and also it is the unifying language for many Filipinos don't speak Tagalog. . .
@@FUNNYANDCUTEANIMALS26 this is a living tangka in our country or maybe one of our neighbors hahaha...
Sir/Madam thank you for promoting our country Philippines.
Thank you so much for sharing all of this ❤️ 💜
Your correct bro , almost all of us speak english not fluently but definitely most of them❤
Glad to hear that
If you stay here for about a month.
Definitely go to the ff if it's just 3 weeks:
Metro Manila - stay in Ayala or BGC for a bit of luxury living (can get a bit more expensive than what was in the video but you can find a lot of vloggers give tips) most events happen in Manila too so you might be able to catch one of SB19 members' events while there.
Palawan
Boracay or Siargao
Also not everyone is fluent but most Filipinos are conversational. We can defintely help you with directions at the very least. But in the places I listed above, almost everyone can speak English.
Thank you so much for your help 🙏 😘
@@TouchyReactionsAlso, the best time to visit is from Jan to Feb when weather is mild and cool and in between 2 peak seasons, the holidays and the start of summer (March) so airfare is reasonable.
Yes, you don’t need to worry about how you communicate once you are there. Almost everybody speaks English, some better than others, but inn general, good enough to converse with you.
That helps. Thanks 😊
@@tiagofilms421 Thanks
I'm a Filipino inviting you to visit my beloved country the Philippines to enjoy and have fun in your life...many foreigners want to stay longer or want to become a Filipino citizens...
Excited for both of you! You'll love it here, beware you might not want to leave
I just hope we can work it out
for city i would recomend
in manila you can do these:
BGC - for super modern city vibes, American cemetery for WWII fallen soldiers
Binondo (oldest china town in the world),
Mall of Asia or mega mall - 2 of the largest malls in the world
intramuros, manila cathedral and san agustin church, quiapo church, national museum and rizal park (for historical and cultural tour)
Corregidor island - WWII history
for island and nature from the northern part to south of the philippines
Batanes - stunning landscape road less traveled
vigan city - Spanish style city
baguio and banawe rice terraces- colder temperature summer capital of the ph
tagaytay and Taal volcano (bulalo soup and the smallest volcano)
bicol and mayon volcano (most symmetrical cone shaped volcano in the world)
palawan(puerto princesa, Coron, el nido) - beaches and nature
Boracay island - beast beach and night life
Bohol (chocolate hills) beach and nature tours, Tarsier (smallest primate)
Cebu (food, beach, swimming with whale sharks, falls etc)
siargao - surfing
davao city - if best place for trying fruits
Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to share all of this with us ❤️ 😀. We will try to see as many of these as possible.
@@TouchyReactions Don't forget Pampanga, especially Angeles where Nate is currently living. It won't be called the Culinary Capital for nothin'!
Try to visit Cebu or Palawan, Bohol or Boracay if u like the beach.
Don’t worry English is our 2nd language- u will survive hehe.
Thanks for the help 🙂
Oh!wow! Touchy Reacts thank you for planning to visit the Philippines!❤❤❤
I hope we can make it happen 🙏
This suits his age and lifestyle living in Angeles but i think moving to Cebu City, Iloilo City, Baguio City, Davao City, Cagayan de Oro are good alternatives. For guys like you the most ideal is Cebu City coz the provincevof Cebu offers so many aminities to Expats and no other province in the Ph can beat. Its competes Manila in economic activity, city development or modernity. It will soon be the next Singapore. And his had a very apeealing rusticity.
Thank you 😊
It is cheaper to live in the Philippines due to the conversion.
So yes retiring in the Philippines are very much
encouraged. English is spoken everywhere you go all the signs are in English. Lastly the people are hospitable and will treat you like family once they've known you as a neighbor. So many expats live in the Philippines.
Thank you for sharing this with us ❤️ 💜
cheapest place to live that i’ve found is in Cagayan de Oro. very safe and has everything you need but not crowded like the big cities.
You are correct, from CDO south around Bukidnon would be a great trip.
I've lived here 17 years . I live in Angeles City where he lives . I can tell youa few different subjects that he didn't talk about things like Health Care . He didn't talk about different vista's. I have a permanent residenc e visa. If you want other information I would be happy to help
Naaaah 😊 it's very cheap and people are very welcome in the Philippines 🇵🇭 💕 👌
Iloilo City, Puerto Princesa City, Davao City. Check out these three cities.

For safety reasons. Trained gas attendants do the gas up filling. It is part of our safety law and fire prevention law.
Cindy is a school teacher and she can only get three weeks off during summer vacation (June, July, August). So we are looking at those windows.
I'm happy to watched this Vlog ❤ thank you for promoting my beloved country. ❤God bless and welcome to the Philippines anytime.

Yes, in the Philippines there are attendants in all the gasoline stations to pump your gas for you
baguio , siargao, dumaguete, bohol, palawan, bgc, cebu, batanes, boracay , and siquijor are the popular destinations... but where ever you go....the smiles and warmth of the filipino people will always be there...and make your trip a memorable one. if you want to avoid the tourists...you can go to off beaten path and visit the neighboring cities or towns of your destinations... philippines is a world within a world.....with different dialects and cultures..
Actually Luzon area is being underrated. Lucy and George can attest to that. Mike and Nelly at one point have enjoyed the upper Northern provinces. Yes 3 weeks would be just an initiation period for first timer😊.
He's paying very little. The average is about 1500 per month. You can live like a king on 2000 per month.
Thank you so much 💓 💗
For me if you want to do more with your dollars don't stay on expensive places like condo but instead look for a fully furnished house that cost for 300 to 400 dollars a month if you are planning to stay longer here or an apartment this man rented.

Nope, you don't need to learn Tagalog to go to the Philippines, 99.9 % of Filipinos young and old speak English.
You are exaggerating. Yes Philippines is one of asian countries who uses english as a way to communicate but to say 99.9℅ of filipinos speak english is far fetched.
I guess you are pretty correct!
@@randomguy-ss8iqit's not 99% but it's close I think 97%-98%
68 % according to Google that speak fluent English

Thank you so much for sharing all of this with us ❤️ 💜. We hope everything works out and we can make it.
You don’t need to worry , English is our second language in the Philippines . Everyone here can speak English .

Salamat Po. We have discovered how amazing Filipinos are.
In 3 Islands of the Philippines…If you want to go Vizayas, you go Cebu, Iloilo, or in Negros-Dumaguete. You can visit Siquijor, Boracay, Camiguin, Palawan if you fond of beaches.
Thanks for the help 🙂 👍
Our windows for traveling will be June and July, so we may need to brave the heat.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share all of this with us ❤️ 💕
July is rainy season, you will get stuck at home. May and June is ok but the best is October to February. To experience New Year’s Eve, specially in Manila is fire! Welcome

Can't go to the Philippines with stopping in the town that gave us Morissette. Cebu is on the list.
Filipino and English is our official languages, some may have difficulties in speaking English fluently but almost everyone can understand you, just speak slowly as some are not used to your accent. but they will surely be able to communicate in english

if youre in manila and you ride a taxi, if he gives you a fixed rate for the ride, either counter the price into half or ask for meter only.
simcards in airports are pricey. buy in a mall instead and let them teach you how to "load data"
if youre ok with long distance travel, cebu is a great location. you get beaches in moalboal, whales in oslob and canyoneering in badian. a boat ride across is bohol where the chocolate hills are located and danao adventure park (where the plunge is located) also close in cebu is what most people's bucketlist is located, which is skydiving. it is located in the bantayan islands. from the cebu bus terminal, ride 4hours to hagnaya port and ferry boat to santa fe.
if youre into just hanging in 1 spot for a week, siargao where the island life can be most feel by foreigners. you could just surf the whole week away. ... or boracay which is the place to be. boracay can be a bit more crowded and pricey though but its was once voted #1 place to go to in philippines.
Thank you so much for sharing all of this with us ❤️ 💜 💕
Well that's certainly different, but informative. Thanks.

Probably started when USA acquired the Philippines from Spain in 1898.😊
Yes, when traveling the Phils, make sure to drink bottled water or purified water from the water stations.

Thank you so much 💓 💗
English language is taught in schools here.
Thank you 😊

It depends what are you going to do? High end, medium, or regular. Vacation for a month for one at least I spend 5k. High end living style. Three weeks, Palawan, Bohol, cebu.
Now we are talking
I was in Israel for 5 years and in Canada for almost 16 years. I came back to the Philippines in February 2024 after 20 years. I took with me $9,000 USD. I spent less than $6,000 USD. We even went to Boracay for 2 days and 2 nights. I spent on eating at restaurants and buying clothes.
Hello, Ryan and Cindy. Glad to know you're gonna be visiting the Philippines! 🇵🇭🥰
For the places, I recommend you stay in Metro Manila, particularly in Makati City or Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig City, it's the urban capital where there's a lot of amenities and convenience for you.
June is ok though it rains in the afternoon (not that heavy).

Welcome you all to our humble country the Philippines🇵🇭
Salamat Po
I absolutely love the Philippines! English only will be fine, especially in the cities. There may be a few provincial areas that may be a challenge with English, but mostly are in Mindanao from my experience. Ingat po! Oh! Jollibee burger steak and pancakes...amazing! Yes, attendants are at the gas pumps. Food delivery app, you'll need a local sim/phone number.
Thanks for the tips!
Thanks for the tips!
Thank you so much 💓 💗
If you spend a week in Manila.
Thanks for the tips!
That's awesome
He is in Angeles City which is an Expat haven. It used to be an American base hence the infrastructure is a little bit more modern than most city outside of Metro Manila and Cebu City.
You to Siargao the beautiful place if you want enjoy both of you ,Capital Surfing place and so amazing and breath taking view.
Best time to go to Philippines is February to early March. It's not too hot and not rainny😊. El Nido and Coron is stunning! I would suggest to always bring some medications for stomach ache etc with you, just in case. There's a lot of poverty there so don't be surprised.
Thanks for the tips!
Yes sir enjoy and comes here Philippines More2x fun in all City in the Philippines
Thank you 😊
Dumaguette and outside of Cebu City.
Thank you so much for sharing your story with us ❤️ 💕
Every body speaks English because remember Americans colonize the Philippines for 48 years so it’s very Americanize. Well you guys take care🇵🇭🇺🇸 and I heard that you like Karaoke well you’re in the right place because Filipino is the one who invented the Karaoke and modified in Japan well you gonna love it ❤
Sounds like fun
Absolutely ❤ the best’s beaches in the World better than Hawaii.
Thank you so much 💓
Stay for a week in manila and explore the old and the new. Then go to the provinces. If you like beaches then go to palawan or the visayas. We also have beaches in Luzon and you can also go to Baguio City and nearby places like Banaue and Sagada for a cooler climate.
Thanks for the help.
If you love beaches and resorts, well try to watch 7 days in the Philippines,
2,000 USD is acceptable in the provinces not in Metro Manila.
Santol, jackfruit or Durian (good luck with the last one)
Thank you so much for taking the time to share all of this with us ❤️ 💕
Thank you, sir, for the information. I love that ❤❤
My pleasure!
Thank you so much for taking the time to share all of this with us. We are planning the trip now.
