Thank you so much, that means a ton! I really enjoy sharing my building projects and trips, makes it all the more enjoyable that other people enjoy watching them!
Super enjoyable video Micah. You beautifully captured one of my favorite areas of Oregon. Nice to see your rig in action and the interview at the end was quite interesting as well. Looking forward to future adventures!
Great you’re partnering with budget tires goes well with the theme of your build. Waiting for the video on how you swapped your Tacoma seats with GL Mercedes seats.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. Always feels a little uneasy putting your self out there with videos but it’s definitely fun to share. Thanks for following along
Loved this video BTW. I look forward to seeing more. I love the DIY build side and the using the DIY gear in videos on trips. I keep thinking about starting a channel with that as the goal, me building my own rig and accessories and using them. Not sure I can bring myself to actually talk to the camera though. Idk, maybe someday.
Thanks for sharing your adventure. I personally love that area and spend a ton of time out in that area rockhounding. Spent a week travelling through the Owyhee's on down through Rome and on further to McDermitt, then from there across to Hart Mt...just tons of beautiful scenery everywhere. I will say that eating dust for hours on end is not my favorite way to wheel but sometimes community outweighs personal satisfaction right? haha
Wow looks like poopy pants deleted all of his hate msgs?? That dude might need some clinical help... I think in light of all this ill be buying set of those firestones! Keep up these stellar videos dude!
currently have a ko2 used to have km3’s and never again. AT tire is good enough for me. I like the firestone destination tire tho. If firestone would allow me to “try on” ther mt tire I would maybe be changed 😁
The climb out of the canyon from hotspring on the west side is covered in a decent amount of broken auto glass, also there is a bumper hanging from a tree. Great place to get away from big crowds
Haha well I can’t confirm that as we were on the east side for the trip, and durning out visit it was quite. It was also a week day so that probably helps. Beautiful area!
I stopped buying Firestone back when the tire would come apart in the 1990-2000's and killed hundreds of people. I had a tread separation in 2002 and the tire tread hit my hand almost breaking it (the tire whipped around and hit my hand since I had the window open). They look like great tires, hopefully they fixed the issues.
I remember hearing something about this as a kid! So far they have been awesome, If they hadn’t fixed this I’m sure there is no way they would still be in business 20 years later. Definitely will report anything that comes up though!
Nearly every tire company has had issues over the years....not to mention many other products unrelated. I mean what about all the food companies that have killed people or airplane companies or atvs....list goes on and on. Side note, firestone is one of very few that still produces "antique" style tires...i have bought several sets of white walls and truck tires to match various vintage vehicles.
After reading through the comments I can see there is a lot of opinions on Firestone. Here is what the actual facts as to what happened. Ford Explorer road stiffer than the competition. Cheap solution was to lower tire pressure. Firestone was the tire supplier. They both agreed to run the tires at 22 psi. The reason for 22 psi is that this the engineered standard in tire industry for keeping the bead seated. The owner of the vehicle then would drive down the freeway on a road trip would have the tire blow and roll the vehicle. The problem is the owner wouldn't check tire air pressure and they would be driving on a flat tire. Tire flexing will create heat. A flat tire flexes to much and creates excessive heat and the tire fails. My sister had a Explorer with those tires. When I found out about this problem I went out checked the air pressure on her Explorer. To low so I grabbed the air hose inflated them to 35 psi like they should have been. She never had a problem. The people that just bought the tire and put them on their vehicle (other than Explorer) didn't have any more problems than any other tire. I have owned Firestone tires post all of this and didn't have any problems with them.
Don't get your info from UA-cam comments. Wikipedia has a comprehensive summary of incident: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firestone_and_Ford_tire_controversy BTW, it was 26 psi.
Good video but audio is a bit annoying. I have it turned to a certain volume to hear you talk, then the music comes on and I have to turn it down because it's too loud. I don't like that type of "music" anyway but could probably handle it if it was playing softly.
Thanks for the feedback. I adjusted the audio levels for some clips but obviously didn’t get it consistent for the whole video, something I’ll be sure to do next time 👍🏻
@@OverlandUnderBudget I had a set on my last tacoma but I was I got T-boned last year and rolled 4 times. Everything got bent. Just trying to find another set
I absolutely love what you do on IG and YT, I just want you know that you have been a huge motivation and positive influence on my "overland" journey.
Thank you so much, that means a ton! I really enjoy sharing my building projects and trips, makes it all the more enjoyable that other people enjoy watching them!

Love the video man. Also going to have to check out Owyhee Canyon. Looks awesome!
Thank you drew! Means a ton coming from you. 🙏 definitely need to make a trip to the area it’s stunning

Thank you so much, I really appreciate that, especially coming from you!

Hell yeah Mikah! Keep up the good work, true motivation to start doing DIY and start my channel. Thanks for the countless hours of entertainment!

Well I'm about a third of the way through this and it's great so far, but dammit now you've made me hungry! I'll have to finish watching later.
As awesome as building stuff is, it’s really cool to see it being put to use.
thanks Jordan! looking forward to the next adventure and i will film more of how the camper is working and how i setup for camp too.
It was awesome having you with is n this trip. Loved talking to a fellow tire nerd! and I absolutely love this video.
Thanks Andrew! It was a blast, hope we meet up again and can nerd out on more tire stuff haha
I still think it's crazy that what really started all this was you winning that forney welder giveaway!
The 22 minute mark, it looks like you're standing in front of an old western movie backdrop. Amazing scenery and great shots.
Nature is the ultimate painter. such a insane area
Good to see a video again I would be fishing all along the way I’m a Land Rover guy myself
I’ve been following for a while and I’m happy for the growth in this channel to the point you are getting invited to these events!
Thank you! I really appreciate it.
Just built my first project using the dibond/steel frame recipe and couldn't be happier with how it turned out! Thanks for putting me onto it!
Dude that’s epic! Glad it worked well for you too.
Such a great trip! Love the organic take on it, you really captured the event. Let’s cook again soon!
Thanks guys! You all were a huge part of it, that food was incredible!!
I need to go here. I didn't know I did, but now I do. Holy cow does that place look amazing.
Wow awesome footage, looking forward to more of these videos!
Thanks Samuel!
Nice. I have a 1st gen Tacoma in the Amazon, Guyana, South America.
Great drone footage! Very beautiful! By next year I plan to be on the road full time and your video is inspiring. Thanks for that motivation.
Thanks so much! Drone shots are my favorite too!
I'd love to see more content like this
Loved this trip can't wait for the next one. Didn't look like your first time filming a trip like this, you are talented!
Casting to the TV, the trip looks like it was awesome!

Great watch! Excited to follow along on more trips
Thanks Chris, I really appreciate it. Heading out to the Grand Canyon in a few days, that should be the next adventure video soon!
Like any other tires, the noise will increase as tires started having a wear pattern. Keep up with your rotation, alignment and Suspension system
👍 truth

Looks like an amazing time, also great job with the drone!
Also, where did you get that Toyota hat? I must have one!
Thanks man, I really appreciate it. Hat is from black dog traders 👍

Really like the wheel and tire combo. What lug nuts are you running with that?
How many miles does your Tacoma have now?
awesome!!
Thanks! First time filming a camping trip, definitely learned a lot on the filming side haha next one should be better!

What’s the song at 12:23? Great video. Thank you!
Sorry you had to rough it and eat camp food. :)

What did you do with your old steelys wheels
I'm a tire builder at Firestone in DesMoines Iowa
What no way! How cool! I sold the steelies to another Toyota owner. Thought I never would but didn’t want to store them

Do you have a blueprint out for this bed somewhere?
