I've had this on my Kindle for two years. This may just be the push I need to finally read it. I'm also hearing good things about her latest, The Vaster Wilds.

and I only came here for a review of a game called Maytrix which turned out to be a book called Mahtrix.
(Which makes sense, as it's Mahria not Mayriah.)
How do you solve a problem like Maria?
Tell her, "Get thee to a nunnery!" lol
    Thanks for the review, Liz
FWIW I'm currently listening to an audiobook of Elektra by Jennifer Saint.
Matrix has been added to my ever growing reading wishlist on Goodreads and no doubt soon to be purchased to add to the ever growing pile of books to read! lol

Everyone should have an ever growing TBR, just like they have an ever growing shelf of shame. ;)

haha I have a small game collection but seem to have acquired enough to have built up a relatively large proportion of unplayed games. lol
Meant to mention the Gospel of Mary Magdalene which, iirc, was found among the Dead Sea Scrolls.
Maybe wrong but the gospels vary on the events following the resurrection, and there is some jealousy from the disciples.
I see that Marie was a historical person, and no doubt overshadowed by Hildegard of Bingen.
      I'm super interested now! lol

The Berlin Gnostic Codex (which contains Gospel of Mary) was found somewhere near Akhmim in Egypt, I think. Who knows what those monks were up to out there. :P

Ah my bad. Thank you for the correction.
My memory is holier than a swiss cheese plant in a colander
I would pray for my memory to improve if I didn't keep forgetting what it was I wanted to pray for!

I actually wouldn't blame your memory--reporting on religion-related news is often terrible!

This was such a great book. I loved the prose style also. I read an interview with the author and she said that she started writing it because the Trump presidency drove her to seek a world of women at least in her mind. Have you read Hild by Nicola Griffith? It's a remarkable book about Hilda of Whitby, a 7th century English abbess.

I haven't but it is going on the list now!

I thought Hild was brilliant, and the sequel Menewood just came out and I am eager to read it. She is an author with amazing range - I also loved her first book, Ammonite, which is a sci fi book that explores a planet that also ends up as a world of women. I am really enjoying your podcasts, thank you! I stumbled across them through Molly House, and through you found Jason Perez, and I appreciate both your thoughtful perspectives so much. I am a relative newbie with not many people to play games with, trying to work my way past Wingspan level of complexity, but I have a copy of Navajo Wars waiting for me in some distant future.

Welcome to the club! As long as you're playing games that make you happy, it doesn't matter how difficult they are. And the solo gaming community is the best! BG41 is a very nice Facebook group for general solo gaming, and of course Solitaire Wargames is the spot for solo wargamers on Facebook.

Thanks! (Though I am actually not on Facebook.) I am not aiming for super heavy games, or war games necessarily, but there are a number of games that interest me that will be more approachable when I have a bit more experience with different mechanics. As for Navajo Wars, I was briefly a teacher on the outskirts of the Navajo Nation and want to know more about that history (besides that the game looks beautiful). But I bought it from someone before I realized what complexity ratings were.... @@BeyondSolitaire
