@@bigbruno56 It seems we are talking semantics and not works of the devil. We understand in the scripture that Jesus is the head of the church body. Of the elders are teachers. The implication in the letters to Timothy is that he was the main teacher and was entrusted to provide insight to the elders how to instruct and what to look for in elders and deacons. He was also instructed how to protect the flock. This by no means meant he was the head without accountability as in a properly run church elders are to hold the (main) preacher accountable.
@@bigbruno56 Because truth matters, I expected a more profound, thoughtful and scriptural response from you. Yes, some pastors behave like CEOs and are only in it for the money. Jesus said there will be tares in with the wheat until the last day. Paul and Peter said some pervert the word of God for profit. But that does not negate Timothy’s calling. Can you answer me this. What is supposed to be the core doctrine/teaching of any church and is your church aligned with that?
@@bigbruno56 It is your assumption only based on no evidence why he did not answer you. Could it instead be because there are only 24 precious hours in a day and no one has time to answer every critic? Contextually, the John 10:12 passage has nothing to do any of what you mention, not even close. It is distinguishing blind guides from the true shepherd who lays down his life for the sheep. Basically, saying that we enter into the kingdom by Jesus and his finished work only.
A point on the potential irrationality of killing the son: squatters rights at the time dictated that, if a landlord dies with no heir, the tenant takes the tenancy. Punishment for murder notwithstanding, the lack of an heir means they get the inheritance, at least as far as the tenancy is concerned. Thank you for the wonderful video! Your videos have enriched my faith; I'm hoping to enroll in seminary within the next two years
Fall upon Christ or build an idol to ourselves and be crushed...the later being manifested in so many ways in our world: picking ones gender, murdering children out of convenience...Lord have mercy!
You are by your comments making Jesus nothing more than another prophet whom the Jews killed, but He was much more. By His own words, “Before Abraham was born, I AM,” He was declaring that He is God. Even Muhammad never claimed that. The Jewish Pharisees were angry when Jesus made that claim, and they tried to stone Him for what they perceived as blasphemy, but it was only blasphemy if it wasn’t true, and Jesus spoke the truth. Jesus created the fig tree; Jesus had the right to curse the fig tree. “1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” John 1:1-3

I too grapple with the Israelites being the earthly and the church being the heavenly, but I don’t see the association with this particular parable.
I've wondered why they were afraid of the people but after they snuck around and did their evil at night they were suddenly brave and killing others
Probably because they figured the death of the ringleader would destroy the movement.

Laurie, I 100% agree with you. The servants were the prophets, but Jesus is the Son, God incarnate, very God of very God.
