- Merry Christmas to everyone!!!
I have been wanting to do something for my dad for Christmas because he has been working on some of his projects for years and really hasn't made much progress. I decided to install a full QA1 handling suspension kit and was very surprised at how well the kit installed and how well the car drove after the kit was installed.

Merry Christmas everyone!!!
Merry Christmas! If it's a numbers matching car and/or has rare options, I would keep it 100% original. Other than that, upgrades are ok.
Hey there's a jam nut on steering box. You can take some of the slop out there. My dad called it the worm gear.
You have to be really careful adjusting that set screw in towards the worm gear in the steering box. Tiny little adjustments. There is actually supposed to be some space so that it doesn’t dig into the worm gear and make things worse by causing extreme wear. 😎
HEY! Good morning Dave! Merry Christmas to you and your family!!!
Thanks
You are a great son!
The 70 442 W30 is my bucketlist muscle car 👍
Merry Christmas to You and your Dad.
Awesome! Good work. Lots of space for more improvements, but looks and sounds great. God bless. Merry Christmas
I love Pop and son stories.
Merry Christmas from Queensland Australia.
That thing is sweet! You have a cool dad!
Merry Christmas Dave! Great video with Dad!
Merry Christmas, guys.
Good morning dave merry Christmas and keep the great work
Your a lucky man I wish my dad was here I have a 70 camaro that I know he would love along with my 50 chevy four door fleetline
Thankyou for your videos bro, you are inspiring me to get back to work on my project car 🔧
Dave, so nice to be able to do things for our parents. Mine are gone now and I miss them. You are a good son.
Dave your Dads 442 convertible is really cool! I think disc brakes and doing the steering things will make your Dads car drive really well with the suspension upgrades you have done. Back in 1980 a local Guy had a 1970 Matador Red 442 Convertible. It had 100K miles and had done a bit of street racing in it's time. Overall the car was solid but smoked a bit if you punched it. However a pretty much all original car that was starting to be a bit tired. The Guy wasn't interested in selling but I wanted that car really bad and finally put together a deal he would accept. I did a two year restoration of the 442 and it was a blast to drive. Of course back in the day the original Matador Red wasn't on the menu. When we repainted it I went with a Chrysler Garnet Red Miracryl paint with a W30 wing and the car really popped! And the engine got the full treatment and it was fast for those times! One of the top three cars I have ever owned!
One sweet '64! Definitely get a set of inner & outer tie rod ends, maybe new sleeves too, and an idler & Pitman arm(or new center link if GM). HUGE difference when slop is taken out! Bitchen QA1 components too!
Thanks Dave, and Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas Dave.
The first time I drove my Uncle's '68 Mustang California Special (100% Factory Original), I had my first experience with four-wheel drum brakes! 😱😱🤣🤣
Also, the ECI conversation works with 14" wheels,
Great video Dave!. Merry Christmas
You really have it looking nice under there Dave. Nice father and son project.
You're supposed to replace the tie rod ends BEFORE you do a wheel alignment.
I was sorely tempted to point that out. I'm sure the shop offered no warranty on that "alignment".
Cool job Dave your dad looked real happy with it it’s a beautiful car and family air loom . merry Christmas 👍
My buddy had a 64 when we were in high school.
Redhead steering box and upgrade the rag joint to a u joint! Tightens these old GMs up a lot!
Neat I live like a rock's throw away from QA1.
Merry Christmas Dave. Hopefully see the hell wagon going next year. 👍👍
Definitely needs a disc brake upgrade at some stage.
Yeah it pulls pretty hard when you brake
That sweet reaction from your dad is priceless ❤
Merry Christmas good sir
Thanks
It is very cool seeing Dave coming from Motionautotv and starting his own thing.
thanks 😊
Merry Christmas Dave and family, would of been interesting to see a side by side weight comparison of new for old parts, I should think the QA1 components saved a good bit of weight overall , love your OCD for doing things right Dave makes it a channel worth watching 👍🏼
You should check the rag joint that could cause the loose feel in the steering
Pretty sure Baer Brakes has a bolt-on disk brake package that will fit under your stock rims.
Merry Christmas dave. Do a hell cat disc brake conversion on that
Merry Christmas Dave, all the best to you and yours this holiday season !!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Needs a new steering box
Dave driving dad's Olds: Runs great, sloppy
Dave's mind: Could use Hellcat swap, Trackhawk swap, microwave glovebox, carbon removable hard top...
Merry Christmas!
I would put a ls and tr6060 in it
Don't fuck it up with LS bullshit awesome video
Merry Christmas Dave
Thanks
Jesus would be the best Christmas gift if he came in the clouds to pick me up go to the best banquet party ever if ur a believer u know what I mean those who want to save there life will loose it in the end Jesus is the reason wish he would come back on his birthday would be ammazing
They’re called ball joints not bushings, tie rod ends not steering bushings and brake hoses not brake lines…. Just thought an engineer should use the proper vernacular.
