After following the build you guys did over the years makes me want get a ride with you to experience the real thing. You should test out the car stereo in the next video.
Coilovers are awesome..... but adjusting them isn't awesome. But then when you realize that on a regular suspension you would be unbolting everything to adjust it, the coilovers don't seem so bad. 😁 The car is looking gorgeous!
The nerves on those first initial drives are something, I’m always thinking I have so much money and time in this and don’t want to have something break or leaving me on the side of the road only to have it towed home, likely why I didn’t drive mine much as a kid…. I couldn’t afford for it to break 😆.
I have a great news. I bought a 1974 Camaro to restore!! I'm gonna convert the front and rear to transform in 1970. Keep going!!! Nice to see the old man in good health!!
Great job eric it has been a while since I checked in. I am just getting back to my project as well. You mentioned not seeing any brakefluid leak out. I had a similar problem on mine a while back and I found all the brake fluid in the subframe rail when I lifted the front of the car and it all ran out the back of the frame rail, LOL so check that.
I am proud of you and Pops, you have come a long way my friend:) There are always kinks that need to be worked out and it looks like you are doing great :)
I noticed at the 11:00 min when you are showing the master cylinder the coil pack was unplugged I was wondering when you said it was running bad if you caught that.
@@asicerik Great eye @Thegaragefiles ! OE LS factory applications have a blue plastic tethered lock that inserts through the coil pack connector after you plug it in. It can only be inserted when the connector is fully seated and it guarantees there's no way it can work itself loose. It's hard to understand why that wasn't included in the crate version of the harness.
That is what I did there. It is just that one shock that is giving me trouble. I think some debris got in there or something. It was moving fine this time.
Maybe two clamps to compress that spring would have made life easier but it's a tight space under there... Back in the day when I had 315s at the rear of a 2001 WS6 Firebird I had to roll up the wheel well lips to solve the rubbing problem. The exhaust note sounds great, do you have a stock or more aggressive cam in? The brakes need some TLC but man I totally dig that color on this classic 🤘🏻
That is what the sprint compressor did. It worked well enough. I may have to roll them, we'll see. Everything went well this drive. The brakes quieted up after a few stops. There is a bedding procedure I still have to do though. A could hard stops kinda thing.
Ride Tech did not say that in the instructions. I doubled checked after reading this comment. It is Al on Al, so I don't think anti-seize as much as just some lubricant.

We need to get the amp installed, etc. to test the stereo for last. If you find yourself in CA, we need to do that!
Glad to see yall getting the bugs worked out. Pops looks good riding shotgun!!!!!
Thanks. He is enjoying it :)

The car is looking gorgeous!
That is SO true. I mean, I would have had to buy new springs, etc.
Great job! She looks great! And the exhaust clears the driveway hump.
Thanks! I was surprised by that, but happy.
Awesome to see the Camaro moving on the road! So happy for you and your Father!
Thanks Jim!

True that! I am just going a little further each time, waiting for something to break. LOL

Outstanding! I will try to get a video of him driving it soon, just for you :)
@@asicerik "Let the old man drive" 😅😅

Interesting. Yeah, could be it is hiding in there.
such a long time coming. you guys are as classic as that car. great to see you bonding over that project.
Thanks bud
Man that car's color would look killer on a drumkit!
Don't give me any ideas! I have leftover paint...
LOL go for it!!!

Thanks Cary!
It's been quite a journey Erik....Good stuff mate.
Thanks Zig!
nice Erik, another step forward.
Yup. Ready to take it to the shop and try to get it registered...
Finally it looks ok
Yup!
Looking great lads. You both should be proud.. one hell of a ride you've both taken from the start of this :)
That is the truth! I hope we can get it to a show this year. That would be awesome.

Not at the time! LOL

lift the body and let the axle drop. you should be able to adjust the collar very easy. it looks like you may be messing up the threads on the body.

Great video! So happy for you! When is the exhaust going to be all done?
That is probably the first shop visit. In the next couple of weeks I think.
@@asicerik awesome! Such a beautiful car!
Great to see this car moving under its own power. Looks great out in the sun! Congratulations to you and Pops. Now just a few tweaks and it’s good.
Thanks!
Nice, Since this is almost completely done are you going to end up restoring another car or is this going to be the only one?
Ah yes! I am getting ready to have it shipped over. It is in storage in Utah. Something VERY different :)

How long has the gas been in the tank?
Sounds like the gas is fouling.... everything
We found a loose connection at the end. It was not the gas. There was not much left in there anyway.
It’s Alive!! Cool, we get to see it drive. Was this your 1st shakedown? Did you do an in depth video of yourPainless install?
Second drive. I did document the harness decently. I would not say in depth though.
You know when you install coil over you supposed to apply anti seize on the threads it should have said it in the instructions
Ride Tech did not say that in the instructions. I doubled checked after reading this comment. It is Al on Al, so I don't think anti-seize as much as just some lubricant.
That's probably why you are having a problem
