So cute! At the beginning I couldn't imagine how it could work but you did it beautifully💕 Love it! I absolutely love anything made with scrappy pieces💞. Thank you!
Thank you so much! Yes I was the same, at the beginning, in the middle and towards the end in fact, I still couldn't quite see how it was going to work, so it was a relief when it did, and once you've done it once, it seems really simple. Lots more scrappy projects coming up :)
Yes, me too! such a clever idea, all the best ideas are clever but simple. I don't have the head for working it out, but I love following things like this, also origami :)
Thank you Annie, what a great little pouch and so clever, fabric origami at its best. Lovely way to use up little scraps, I love small containers to put "bits " in.
Ah yes fabric origami, I hadn't thought of it like that but that's exactly what it is! yes me too, love that you can make these with scraps and you can never have too many bits-and-bobs holders - I have more ideas for little pouches and things coming soon :)
Thanks so much Liz! 😊 yes, my mind is running away with the idea of table samosas now - weddings, special birthdays, all kinds of events, fill with sweets or small gifts ... oooh keepsake ones made out of old shirts, oooooooh made out of baby clothes to keep their baby teeth in, or even to give to the child to put their tooth in and replace it with a coin from tooth fairy. See, cogs are spinning :)
Thanks Sally - I did a really simple one after this without all the patching and decorative stitching, still looked cute, I reckon you could go simple or way more complicated with these, depending on what youhave to use and what effect you want, I'll definitely be making more of them :)
Thank you Hildegard, I think you'll enjoy making these, I had to made another straight away. If you make it with just one piece of fabric for the outer instead of patching, it's a really quick little project, I did a second, simpler one in a couple of hours. Thanks for watching :)
Thanks Liz, I really enjoyed making it, made another one since, just using one piece of patterned fabric for the outside instead of patching and it looks just as nice and much quicker to do :)
Thanks Linda, yes the second one I made was with just one piece of patterned fabric for the outside instead of patchng, so it was even quicker and easier. Will definitely be making more :)
Ooh Annie, what a great little must try project. Ideal for using up small scraps and adding a bit of slow stitching. I can imagine them in all sizes from miniature to giant. Off to watch the other video now and maybe give it a try.
Ah Maggie, I bet you'll do a fabulous job on these - I've done a simpler one without the patches since then and it still looks nice, and I reckon you could go nuts with the decorative stitching, add beads and wotnot if you wanted to. Love the idea of doing them as a gift holder which is a useful gift in itself and I'm planning more little pouches and things to make with scraps, so watch this space :)
thank you, I'm really happy you like them, especially as I have some more coming! It's nice to have a small, simple project to use up your scraps and easily finish in a day. I did another one after this with just one piece of patterned fabric for the outer instead of patches, and it was really quick and easy :)
After trying several times to get this right, I finally managed to get there. I was stitching the seams all wrong and just couldn’t get the shape, but I’m there now and will try and do something with my usual embroidery on it. I love the stitching you did on yours and will hopefully produce something that looks more like a samosa.
It's a bit of a confusing pattern the way it goes together isn't it, but once you have it, it's really simple. I can't wait to see the Maggie spin on one of these! :)
This would be adorable holder for Hershey kisses or other wrapped candies at Christmas or lavender inside an organza bag as a sachet. For those who use prayer beads or rosaries it would make a sweet pouch for that too. Thx for the link to her channel. I subscribed and will be following her.
They're definitely an easy make Kim - I did another after this one, with just one piece of fabric instead of patches for the outer and it was finished in less than a couple of hours, very simple and equally cute :)
I love how your patchwork turned into red, white, and blue, with the stitching too, very fresh, and different from what I have seen on here lately. I love bright colours, I have just finished two slow stitched rice bags and was looking for a small project to tide me over for my craft night. I will give it a go. It does look cute 😊🌾🌈
Thank you very much Ruth, I'm so happy you enjoyed it. For this project and most of my slow-stitching projects I use two strands of embroidery floss/stranded cotton. I also enjoy using perle cotton, cotton a broder and sashiko thread for a different texture and look, but I don't have so many of those. And I have an ongoing project called My Vintage Stitchery where I'm using all vintage silk threads I bought on eBay - they're a joy to use and have a lovely sheen. I got some lovely space-dyed threads from Stef Francis a while back, but they're a bit of a luxury, most of the time the stranded cotton works really well for me. Hope that helps :)
Thank you very much Marilyn :) No, I did it just as the tutorial showed, that's the way it's meant to go, I think my cutting and stitching just wasn't very accurate, but I've embraced the wonk now! I did do a simpler one after, just one piece of fabric for the outer instead of patches, and cut and stitched it more precisely, and it did go together better than this one and honestly looked just as nice for being more simple I think :)
Hi Kerri, I just printed it off so I could measure it for you. The basic shape measures 12.5cm x 19cm, with a piece cut out of the bottom left-hand corner which measures 7.5cm x 8cm. Hope that helps :)
So cute! At the beginning I couldn't imagine how it could work but you did it beautifully💕 Love it! I absolutely love anything made with scrappy pieces💞. Thank you!

Cute! I'm always amazed at whoever worked out the engineering first on projects like this.
Yes, me too! such a clever idea, all the best ideas are clever but simple. I don't have the head for working it out, but I love following things like this, also origami :)
Darling little pouch. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching Sally, I'm so happy you like it :)

So glad you did this video Annie. It turned out so lovely and what a good idea to use maybe on the Christmas tree or table. Thank you💕

Loved that shape and the colours were stunning
Thanks Jacquie, it's a beautiful shape isn't it, I could never have worked it out from scratch myself! :)

Great job, Annie - looks cute!
Thank you Susan! :)
That is cute, a little "must have" for me now. Will try it out soon.

Great ideas Bettie!! :)
I have been looking at these lately trying to work out if it would be an easy make. I'm so happy to see this here, too 😊🌈🌾

Oh think it's black and creqm 🤦♀️😁
@@kimtownsend838 yea it was kinda red, black and cream, but would look fab in red/white/blue too, might try that next :D
@artyfartyannie Thanks Annie, 🤔 for some reason, it looked like that to me, lol. I'm just hunting down the bits to have a go now 😁 🌾🌈
Annie great job. ❤it
Thanks Rhonda! :)
Looks amazing annie ☺☺
Thanks Chantelle, I feel more of these coming on ... :)
Cute❤

Hi Annie, this is beautiful 😍
Did you try to close it the other way around? The bigger side over the smaller.

That is nice to know. Thank you for replying. I know you are a busy crafter 💜
I do not have a printer and hope someone can give me the measurements on the pattern please.
