For the De-Esser, mostly cause I messed around with it before watching this, I find it's kind of good to turn the amount all the way up, use the preset that you're going for, turn the "listen to ess only" on, and find the right frequency range that way, and then turn off the "listen to ess only" button, and then adjust the amount down so that the words don't come out muddled, but the esses are definitely less sharp

33:37 is there a reliable way to adjust the pitch TO a specific value rather than just changing it BY a certain amount?

Thank you for the video. Super useful! One thing though, maybe the clip in DaVinci Resolve can next time be lower than your voice in the video? It kinda blew my ears a few times. I started changing volume to hear you when you speak, and then lowering it due to the high volume in the recorded DaVinci Resolve part.

In the last segment, along with the vocal channel, you also had noise reduction turned on. This skewed the final result a bit.

With the De-Hummer part ironically you can only hear static with the "changed" clip and hear nothing at all with the clip that plays the hum only which it should have removed.

Chorus is not an echo effect. It’s a modulation effect.

anyone here know if there’s a workflow (i.e. order of operations) for fairlight?
for example, like resolve's "image processing order of operations" for color?

Your explanation about the phase metter is incorrect. When two sounds are in phase, they combine, when they are out of phase they cancel each other out. Having a stereo track, you get 2 signal sources. That is when this happens (in one track). It can also happen when you stack together different mono tracks, or whenever you have more than one signal. This is actually on what noise reduction plugins or headphones are based on. They analyze the noise, they invert the phase, and in the final output the noise is canceled.
