  • At our first TEDxMtHood Salon, Terra Heilman (also known as The Reuser) discusses the importance of reuse, waste prevention, and waste reduction. She explains why recycling isn't solving our environmental troubles, and what actions we can take to actually make a significant impact.
    Terra Heilman is a dynamic and engaging speaker who uses humor and wisdom to bring messages of "guilt-free green" to her audiences. She challenges us to live just a tiny bit lighter on the planet by changing one behavior at a time.
    After working in environmental education for more than fifteen years, Terra has a message for all of us: doing the right thing by the planet doesn’t have to be hard. It doesn’t have to be sacrifice. In fact, it can bring us clarity, contentment and joy. Terra outlines how our small, everyday decisions are hurting ourselves and the planet - and then shows us how to make better decisions.
    This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx

    What's with all the hate comments? This was a well constructed, informative lecture that could help shape the world in the future and something each one of us should stop and think about if we truly care about our environment, other species and our own - our future generations.
    Is that a bad thing?

      She makes assumptions that are not true. I got about 30 seconds into this, then moved on.

    Smart title! "Recycling doesn't matter - so what does? " . It attracts many views and at the ends she says that we have to do something and stop being passive

      Are you deaf? Reusable bottles would usually be for that. I, in the US, cannot drink my tap water as it's orange, however.

    Ted Talks are going down hill - the microphone keeps peaking and voice changes volume. And does anyone appreciate the irony of incandescent light bulbs being used? Bad for the environment, beautiful as hipsters think they are ;-)

    • @wuestion9473
      @wuestion9473 6 років тому +3

      Do you think she chose the lightbulbs? By the fact that you're using 'hipsters' as an insult, I doubt you care about it anyway.
